Ask if they will share information about the STEM Fair since it’s happening on campus.While at the STEM Fair, post photos and videos on social media to build excitement for next year’s event!Contact local schoolsYour efforts to inform local teachers about the STEM Fair are incredibly helpful! Contact middle and high schools in your region, including STEM schools, magnet schools, private schools, and public schools. Use the “Sample Letter to Schools” (found in the STEM Chairs Promotional Toolbox) as a guide. Suggest that administrators arrange buses or carpools to bring large groups of students to the fair. NACAC helps promote the fair by sending emails to many teachers, counselors, and administrators within 50 miles of the STEM Fair venue. These emails are sent six weeks before the event date and also two weeks before.Reach out to local companies and organizationsYour efforts to reach out to potential sponsors and partners is crucial! Companies and organizations contribute resources that help create a great experience for students and exhibitors and enable the STEM Fairs to grow.Share the “Three Ways to Support the STEM Fair” document (found in the STEM Chairs Promotional Toolbox). It describes how companies and organizations can become a STEM Sponsor, sign up as a STEM Champion, or help by promoting the STEM Fair.Use the “Sample Letter to Companies and Organizations” to send a letter or email to your contacts. See the “List Building Suggestions” document for ideas on building a contact list.Each season, NACAC’s Sponsorship Department also helps find sponsors for the STEM Fairs by reaching out to potential sponsoring organizations.Contact local mediaYour efforts to get media attention for the STEM Fair is key! Use the “Press Release Template” (found in the STEM Chairs Promotional Toolbox) to alert your media contacts. If the STEM Fair will be held on a college campus, ask the college’s communications office to send a press release. They already have strong relationships with reporters.Don’t forget to reach out to local bloggers and social media influencers. These may include “mommy bloggers,” neighborhood bloggers, and others interested in supporting STEM education and a thriving local community. NACAC helps alert the media about the fair by sending a media advisory to many reporters and bloggers in your area. This is sent approximately ten days before the STEM Fair. ................
