The Order of the Executive Committee dated 29th June, 2018 is reproduced herein-below:

“The Executive Committee of the Delhi Medical Council examined a complaint of Shri Sanjeev Choudhary, r/o- E-137/4, Gautam Nagar, New Delhi-110049, forwarded by the Public Grievance Monitoring System, Govt. of NCT of Delhi alleging professional misconduct on the part of doctors of Sukhmani Hospital, B-7, Extn./126 A, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi (referred hereinafter as the said Hospital) in regard to blood investigation report of complainant’s daughter baby Khuwaish Choudhary.

The Executive Committee perused the complaint, written statement of Dr. Balbir Singh Gandhi of Sukhmani Hospital and other documents on record

The Executive Committee noted the explanation given by the Dr. Balbir Singh Gandhi of Sukhmani Hospital regarding the fluctuation in platelet counts and course of events in the said hospital is found to acceptable. The difference in the platelet counts at various intervals is not significant; such fluctuations are acceptable. The hospital laboratory is performing automated as well as slide method which is the correct way of doing platelet count. Giving platelet transfusion at count of 26,000 is a matter of clinical judgment. As per LAMA slip, patient was confirmed of having dengue in which case platelet count variations can happen.

In light of the observations made herein-above, it is, therefore, the decision of the Executive Committee that prima-facie no case of professional misconduct on the part of doctors of Sukhmani Hospital, in regard to blood investigation report of complainant’s daughter baby Khuwaish Choudhary.

Complaint stand disposed.”
