In January, Troy conducted a 6-hour workshop for the task force on professional ethics and the MCEE. Last month, the task force recommended to the Nevada Commission full adoption of the MCEE. June 2018 upon the recommendation of the task force the Nevada Commission on Professional Standards adopted the MCEE. We have found using this additional code of ethics from outside the university helps students understand strong ethical and professional behaviors are not just an expectation of WGU, but of the field of education. In the remediation plans, we have required students to read sections of the code and address their own disposition concern to that section of the MCEE and how the student could have acted differently to meet the correct ethical and professional behavior expectations. We find this process is a more learning experience for the student instead of just punitive. ................
