Dr. Nisonoff asked the membership to review the resolution sent to all districts from NJASBO concerning this issue. The resolution asks the Department of Agriculture to allow each district to have the choice to decide which cost method is appropriate for their district. Dr. Nisonoff asked the membership to please have their boards of education approve this resolution. New BusinessPresident Perez stated that the executive committee met and discussed making a donation out of the association’s charitable account. The executive committee is recommending that the association make a donation of $15,000 to the charity Save the Children for the victims of hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria. A question was asked as to how the committee chose this charity. Mr. Steve Cea a member of the committee stated that he had researched several charities and found that this particular charity received an A rating from the organization Charity Watch, the percentage of the actual dollars going to the victims was higher than other charities we looked at and we wanted to donate to a charity that focused on children and that was dedicated to the relief effort. Approval of the $15,000 donation to Save the Children was motioned by Steve Cea and seconded by Mark Kramer.
