Instructions for Candidate Listing — Page 1 of 2

Submit all candidate listings to the Printing Services via the district e-mail system. Type the list in Microsoft Word and attach the file to your e-mail. Please keep a copy for yourself.

— Type the names in one long column, no tabs or extra spaces at the end of the line.

— Simply type the name in and press return.

— At the end of each group use two returns to start a new group.

— The type style and size do not matter, since we will be typesetting the list in another program.

List the groups of candidates as follows:

1. Graduating With Highest Honors

❑ List the top 5% of the graduating class (both January and May graduates).

❑ List names either alphabetically by last name or by rank, according to the preference of the principal and the registrar.

❑ Give first name first, and then last name for each graduate, just as the name will appear on the diploma. Do not use nicknames.

❑ Be sure to include Magnet students.

2. Graduating With Honors

❑ List the next 10% of the graduating class, just as you did the top 5%.

3. Graduating Class

❑ List all candidates for January and May 2010—including Special Education students and the candidates already listed in the top 5% and the next 10%.

❑ List candidates in alphabetical order by last name, with first name first, just as the candidates’ names appear on the diplomas. Do not use nicknames.

❑ Do not include the Magnet program candidates.

❑ Type an asterisk (*) at the end of each student’s name who is a Texas Scholar Candidate.

4. Magnet School Graduating Class

❑ List all graduation candidates of your Magnet program for January and May 2010, including Magnet students who are also listed in the top 5% and the next 10%.

❑ Type an asterisk (*) at the end of each student’s name who is a Texas Scholar Candidate.

Bellaire High School

Alma Mater

With honor now we hail thee, Bellaire High

We wear with pride our colors

Of Cardinal red and white.

Our loyalty we pledge anew,

With heart and spirit fight!

Go onward, true to each other,

Bellaire High.

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence;

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.
