Peer Leaders and MentorsPlan and deliver regular team meetings to keep up-to-date with current project delivery.Plan and deliver quarterly 1:1 support and supervision meetings with staff and volunteers.Assess training needs of staff and volunteers, sourcing training providers to deliver courses in line with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.Supporting Young PeoplePromote the programme, meet children, young people and their families/carers to assess needs and interests and create detailed profiles.Encourage and support young people to actively participate in the planning and delivery of the programme.Provide accurate information for participants in an agreed format, this includes vision timetables and checklists of what to bring and what to expect.Monitoring and EvaluationTo monitor and evaluate Fabb’s Short Breaks programme using a range of tools, to ensure the programme reflects the needs and interests of children and provides the opportunity of feedback from parents and carers.FundraisingTo encourage parents, carers, friends and families to participate in fundraising events that will raise awareness of all of Fabb’s services.General ResponsibilitiesResponsibility and diligence around issues and incidents which may make activities non-inclusive for participants and carrying out the necessary procedures in identifying and dealing with any safeguarding or vulnerable adult/child protection, diversity or health and safety issues.To promote and maximise positive outcomes for children and young people with additional support needs and their families, in line with GIRFEC principles.To promote equal opportunities at all times in line with Fabb’s Equality and Diversity mitment to Fabb’s principle aims and objectives.To work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop an excellent Information Management System and Knowledge Hub.To act as a role model for other workers in relation to child-centred practice and personal/professional values.FABB ScotlandNovember 2020Person Specification – Fabb-i-do Short Breaks Co-ordinatorSkills and AbilitiesGood leadership skills and the ability to adapt activities quickly depending on the needs of young people.Skills to manage a wide-ranging workload against competing priorities.Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills.Practical youth work skills and creative abilities.Sound planning and organisational skillsExperienceExperience of working with disabled children and young people.Youth work experience (desirable knowledge in a range of youth activities, for example, play, sports, leisure, arts, and outdoor adventure).Supporting and motivating volunteers.KnowledgeDisability awareness and knowledge of equality legislation.Qualifications and knowledge in a relevant field.Knowledge of information technology and evaluation methods.FABB ScotlandNovember 2020 ................
