Sound Platform Takes Home Audio Sonic Solutions

To A Higher Level

OSD Audio’s Sound Platform and Upcoming Soundsole Combine Advanced Sonics

With Maximum Flexibility and Value

DENVER, CO, September 24, 2013 – OSD Audio, the company founded and managed by audiophiles who believe that high performance audio products do not have to come at a high price, will demonstrate a new tabletop surround audio system at the CEDIA EXPO 2013, featuring sonic output that will please the most ardent music and movie fans, not to mention those consumers who simply want to stream their favorite sounds to a high performance speaker solution.

The powerhouse Sound Platform (model SP2-1), which is available at a suggested retail price of $599.95, could easily be mistaken for a soundbar, though its familiar shape belies the technology, flexibility and performance of this product. The bi-amp design features 4 x 20Watt amplifiers for each of the two (2) down-firing 5.25” woofers, each set of four (4) 2.5” midrange drivers and two (2) 1” silk dome tweeters, resulting in rich, detailed sonics that accurately reproduce the recording without losing one element of the mix.

OSD audio’s Sound Platform accepts inputs from a variety of sources, from optical, coax and stereo analog inputs to Bluetooth 4.0 with the aptX codec, which rivals audio achieved from direct sources. The SP2-1 even offers enveloping simulated surround audio, with a soundfield that stretches out and around the listener.

Bass lovers are bound to get their fill from the Sound Platform’s two down-firing 5.25” woofers, respectively covering left and right channel low frequencies. The down-firing design maximizes bass impact without a hint of distortion.

“Soundbars can’t be beat for making TV audio sound bigger and better, but there aren’t many that can accurately be described as true music speakers,” said Doug Turner, OSD Audio’s Vice President of Sales. “The Sound Platform is configured to give people rich, full range audio where and when they want it, no matter how casual or picky they are when it comes to home audio.”

Looking Ahead: Soundsole to Offer Compact Enclosure, Similar Sonics for Smaller Rooms

OSD Audio will follow up the Sound Platform in late Q4 with the Soundsole which will be a smaller version of the full size model. To be offered at a suggested retail price of $329.95, Soundsole will feature individual 10W amplifiers to drive each of the two 2” full range drivers and one 30W amp to drive two down-firing 5.25” woofers. Like its big brother, Soundsole will include Bluetooth 4.0 with the aptX codec, in addition to a host of the most common inputs: one Toslink, one stereo RCA, and one stereo mini-jack. Additional details will be announced next month.

About OSD Audio

Based in Southern California, OSD Audio was founded in 2003 by a group of audiophiles who understood that good audio products didn’t necessarily have to cost an arm and a leg. The company’s initial line of outdoor rock speakers immediately gained attention from consumers who were astounded by the sound quality and reasonable price. OSD Audio eventually expanded the line to include in-wall and ceiling speakers, amplifiers, speaker selectors and more.
