General Background

The Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Assistant will be part of the livelihood unit within the UNHCR Country office and will report to the Assistant Livelihood Officer. S/he will contribute to the objectives of the unit in operationalizing the Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Strategy.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with UNHCR Sub/Field offices, livelihoods partners, government agencies, private sector and financial services providers as well as other relevant stakeholders to enhance the economic inclusion and improve self-reliance of both persons of concern (PoC) and host community members. The Livelihood and Economic Inclusion is required to provide sufficient administrative assistance and support the implementation of livelihood and economic inclusion activities including assisting in data collection and analysis, monitoring and evaluation as well as reporting and documentation of good practices.

Accountability:

Achievements of UNHCR livelihood programmes are properly reported.

|Duties and Responsibilities: |

|- Assist the office in identifying the expertise of partners engaged in promoting self-reliance, livelihoods, and economic inclusion |

|programmes. |

|- Assist the office in the formulation of strategies for livelihoods, economic inclusion, and sustainable integration for POC in accordance |

|with UNHCR Syria Strategic directions and relevant polices. |

|- Provide overall support to the supervisor including assistance in the organization of meetings, workshops training and working sessions as |

|well as participation in monitoring and evaluation of livelihood activities. |

|- Complete/update the 4W/5W livelihoods matrix, draft parodic reports and documents as well as participate in inter-agency meetings. |

|- Participate in field/assessment missions and draft relevant reports relating to livelihoods and make recommendations for interventions. |

|- Organize and participate in capacity building and training sessions aiming to strengthen the capacity of partners. |

|- Undertake any other relevant duties as required |

Qualification Required:

Education: Certificates and/or Licenses

- Completion of High Scholl education with post-training or certification in related fields (i.e. - Business Management, Economics, Social Science, Agronomy, Environmental or Agricultural Studies, etc).

- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office applications.

Experience: For GL4: 1-year relevant experience with High School Diploma; or Bachelor or equivalent or higher.     

Languages: Knowledge of English and /or UN working language of the duty station if not English.

- Previous experience in Livelihoods programming

- Very good reporting skills.
