-295421415FIELD OFFICER One Girl is on the hunt for two Field Officers (FO) to play a key part in ensuring that One Girl’s programs are making the biggest and best impact they can in the lives of adolescent girls. Each Field Officer is responsible for either Western Area or Tonkolili and will be based in the relevant region. The FO will ensure that all One Girl's girls education focused programs are run effectively and efficiently. They will coordinate all program activities in their designated area of operation. Furthermore, through regular monitoring and collaboration with the focal teachers and One Girl team, they should ensure that girls are participating fully in the programs and achieving their full potential. The Field Officer will work with the Financial and Administration Manager to ensure that all approved payments for these programs are realised as per the approved budget and all planned activities are executed and reported upon. It is the responsibility of the Field Officer to ensure that all activities are executed in an efficient and appropriate manner, as per the strategy and policies of the organisation. These activities should be monitored throughout the year and evaluated at the close of each year, as per the instructions of the Africa Regional Director. This position reports to the Africa Regional Director and at this point in time has no direct line management responsibilities. One Girl operates like a startup, and as such our positions are very ‘fluid’ – you may be asked to complete tasksthat are outside of this position description. Ideally this role will suit a person who enjoys taking on new challenges, and would consider themselves a ‘jill (or jack) of all trades’. RESPONSIBILITIES - Collaborate with the One Girl leadership team to set activity plans for Scholarships, Community Engagement, and Girl Tok programs and ensure they are followed. - Support all activities to implement the Scholarships and Girl Tok programs including collecting data on participants, conducting trainings, home and community visits, and participating in other activities. - Regularly meet with community stakeholders and participants to gain insight on challenges, learning and successes and utilise this feedback to influence program direction. - Support all MEL data collection and other activities in Sierra Leone and promote a culture of equal voice, through continuing to implement One Girl’s asset-based participatory development approach. - Collaborate with the Senior Programs Manager to ensure girl-led approaches are prioritised from program design through to implementation and evaluation. - Support child and young person safeguarding reporting, responding and prevention. - Implement community feedback and reporting mechanisms in the field and report back to senior leadership. - Supervise One Girl Alumni volunteers in district and ensure that they have an ability to grow and learn during their work placement. - Participate in the recruitment and selection of program participants in designated region. - Regularly visit partner schools and communities and provide feedback in monthly reports to the One Girl Freetown office. - Act as the key contact person for all teachers, Scholars and club members from the relevant region. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Required knowledge and experience: A minimum of three years’ experience within a non-profit at a community level. A minimum of three years' experience delivering, observing or supporting training. Experience in facilitating spaces for different audiences, including adolescents, using participatory methodologies. Must have ability to and be willing to use a motorbike to travel to communities and implement project activities. Valid licence required. Proven understanding of community-based fieldwork and activities. Competencies:?Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to implement community based programs and activities. Proven record of quality program delivery.?Confidence in using Microsoft Office and preferably the G-Suite. Ability to identify and resolve problems and make appropriate recommendations. Fluency in English and Krio and competency in another local language is a plus. Understanding of youth and girl-led programming approaches. Understanding of and empathy with the values of One Girl. TIME COMMITMENT AND SALARYOne Girl is recruiting for two full-time positions, one based in Yoni Chiefdom, Tonkolili and the other in Freetown. Some travel within Sierra Leone is required.
