|CORE FUNCTION: |

|To provide support to children, young people and their families impacted directly or indirectly by poverty to improve their health, safety and well-being,|

|to reduce family dependency on specialist service interventions and to remove barriers that promote inequality. |

| |

|To do this in line with PEEK’s Play, Create Thrive approach, providing a person-centered, integrated, proactive, intensive and local service, addressing |

|the key priority areas of the wellbeing theme, healthy lifestyles - including obesity, mental and emotional wellbeing, alcohol, substance misuse, oral |

|health, smoking, financial management and sexual health. |

| |

|To design, deliver and evaluate family support, group work and awareness raising activities to improve health, resilience and parenting for children, |

|young people and their families, supporting them to develop, acquire and use skills and resources to make positive changes to achieve better outcomes. |

|Work closely with statutory and third sector organisations both locally and nationally to help deliver impact. |

|DUTIES: |

|Delivery |

|Working with children, young people and their families |

|Lead on the development of PEEK’s wellbeing programme including food and wellbeing provision, crisis response and signposting to support services. |

|Manage, coordinate and deliver community support for children and young people aged 0-25 who are experiencing poverty and disruption in their lives - |

|Focussing on promoting health, wellbeing and resilience of individuals and the whole family. |

|Ensure children, young people and families are involved in the development of plans for interventions and agreed outcomes to empower them to make informed|

|choices about their intervention. |

|Engage with and support children, young people, families and communities so that they have the knowledge, understanding and skills to access services, |

|facilities and support for themselves and other family or community members to improve their wellbeing and resilience through the delivery of sessions, |

|workshops and programmes. |

|Ensure referrals are managed within agreed protocols. |

|Ensure accurate assessment of risks to self and others are carried out and communicated across the service. |

|Ensure appropriate levels of support for all staff at all times. |

|Lead the wider PEEK team in order to develop and provide appropriate programmes, services, internal referral processes and systems to achieve positive |

|outcomes in line with the aims of PEEK for children, young people and families accessing services. |

| |

|Ensure that equality and diversity are central to service provision and personal working practices to proactively address disadvantage, inequalities, |

|stigma and discrimination, with a focus on the target groups for the project of children, young people and families from: |

|Vulnerable and ‘easy to ignore’ families |

|Low income families/households (particularly families whom reside in SIMD 1 & 2 communities) |

|Pregnant women and new mothers who are vulnerable or from low income backgrounds |

| |

|Support the wider PEEK team to plan, coordinate and deliver school holiday programmes to vulnerable families with a focus on providing nutrition and play |

|workshops. |

| |

|Adhere to and work within all the policies of PEEK, such as child protection policy, protection of vulnerable adults, confidentiality and data protection |

|policies, and the policies contained within the employee handbook. |

| |

|Make sure that safety procedures are followed conforming to the projects: |

|Child Protection and Health & Safety policies, and other relevant policies. |

|Complete Accident/Incident/Niggle/First Aid Checklists/Risk Benefit forms etc. |

|Undertake quarterly Risk Assessment including risk benefit for all activities ensuring copies are placed in each group folder. |

|Workforce and Workforce Development |

|Ensure appropriate day to day line management for all staff within the programme which may include for example; recruitment and absence management etc. |

|To provide intensive support and supervision to the staff team – undertake regular performance reviews. |

|Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with the team on a regular basis as part of their continuing professional development. |

|Ensure all training commitments and obligations are fulfilled. |

|Ensure learning from training programmes are evident in practices. |

|Service Development - incl. Monitoring and Evaluation |

|Lead on the development of outcome focussed interventions to be delivered throughout the programme. |

|Ensure the programme collects coherent records of all activity in line with service protocols and use these records and outcome data to inform |

|decision-making. Complete all requirements relating to data collection. |

|Ensure all work including programmes, training, interventions and support to individuals, groups and organisations are effectively recorded and monitored |

|in order to facilitate planning and evaluation, achieve outcomes and contribute to performance management on an individual, project and organisational |

|basis using the information to produce high quality statistics and reports as required. |

|Produce high quality case studies for internal and external use. |

|Continue to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation procedures. |

|Support service developments within the wider organisation including the engagement of children, young people and families in developing services. |

| |

|Work alongside partners in the delivery of contracts where partnership projects are in place and participate in the development of new services. |

|Communications & Partnership Work |

|Establish and maintain relationships with external services including schools, social work, third sector organisations and police to contribute to support|

|plans for families to provide holistic support. |

|Raise awareness of the needs of children, young people and their families with stakeholders and the wider community. |

|Liaise with public sector services such as Social Work on a regular basis ensuring PEEK records are maintained. |

|Work in partnership with other agencies to ensure the best possible outcome for children and young people |

|To work in line with and to support the delivery of the vision, mission, values and social aims of PEEK and to be a champion for PEEK at all times. |

| |

|Contribute and support the development of a project work and action plans for reviewing it on a quarterly basis reporting on achievement of targets and |

|outcomes to the Head of Operations. |

| |

|Contribute to joint working and partnership working ensuring positive relationships with all concerned. This will include the sharing of skills, knowledge|

|and resources were appropriate. This may also include delivering internal and external presentations. |

|Finance & Fundraising |

|Work collaboratively with the team, and SMT to ensure income and contracts are monitored and secure. |

|Work with the SMT to understand variations in income and take mitigating actions. |

|Develop understanding and monitoring of income model (to aid the management of staff time) and contribute to sustainability. |

|Manage an operational budget ensuring spend is ethical. |

|The Wellbeing Development Manager is expected to maintain an up to date knowledge of all relevant standards, legislation, policies and good practice. They|
