DRAFTCEMETERY MEETING MINUTESMARCH 12, 2019Meeting was called to order at 3:33 p.m. by Chair, Merritt Vantine. Present were: Merritt Vantine, Ilyo McCray, Lucille Campbell, Val Hunter and Sue Lawrence. No others were present.Lucille made a motion to accept the minutes from Feb. 12 meeting. Val seconded. Motion carried.Val made a motion to withdraw the monies from the Coop Funeral Fund Inc. and put it in a CD. Lucille seconded. Motion carried. After further discussion, the motion was made by Lucille to rescind the motion to withdraw until we could get more information on if there were any penalties involved. Sue seconded. Motion carried. Sue to call to get more information about withdrawing this money.Merritt to talk with local contractors about the cost of putting in the road. He to get measurements when weather is better.Lucille had more information about the Ground Penetrating Radar. After looking at some of the information it was decided to contact the lady in Charlotte and get more information about the company they used. We should try to get something for this year.Val and Lucille to follow-up with People’s United Bank, Community Bank, and TD Bank to get rates on CDs investing some the spendable money.Ilyo made motion to join the Vermont Old Cemetery Association and Vermont Cemetery Association. Sue seconded. Motion carried.Sue talked with Jean Prouty about having her brother, Jeff making a new eave trough for the vault. Jeff call back to say he would have to look at it, but thought he could get someone to make a new one.Val made motion to have Merritt stay on as chair. Lucille seconded. Motion carried.Val made motion to have Sue be Secretary and Sexton and Lucille be recording secretary doing minutes and agendas. Ilyo seconded. Motion carried.Sue made motion to have Ilyo Vice-Chair. Lucille seconded. Motion carried.Ilyo mentioned tapping trees. The Commission agreed that he could.Next meeting will be April 9 at 3:30 p.m.Val made motion to adjourn. Sue seconded.
