(m)A motion was made by Jerry Rasmussen (Dakota Valley), seconded by Scott Lepke (Faulkton) to approve the agenda. All present voted aye. Motion carried.Approval of the minutes (enclosed) from the July 18, 2017 Annual Meeting—Brian Field, Secretary. (m)A motion was made by Jim Holbeck (Harrisburg), seconded by Jennifer Lowery (Tea Area) to approve the minutes from the July 18, 2017 Annual Meeting. All present voted aye. Motion carried.Approval of the Financial Report (enclosed)—Summer Schultz, Treasurer. (m)A motion was made by Kelly Glodt (Pierre), seconded by Chip Sundberg (Gettysburg) to approve the financial report. All present voted aye. All present voted aye. Motion carried.Nomination for Treasurer—the Executive Board has placed in nomination Summer Schultz (Dell Rapids). Additional nominations may be made from the floor. (m)A motion was made by Terry Nebelsick (Huron) to cease nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Summer Schultz (Dell Rapids) as SDSSA’s Treasurer for the 2018-19 school year, seconded by Donavan DeBoer (Parker). All present voted aye. Motion carried.Nomination for Secretary—the Executive Board has placed in nomination Brian Field (Beresford). Additional nominations may be made from the floor. (m)A motion was made by Scott Lepke (Faulkton) to cease nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Brian Field (Beresford) as SDSSA’s Secretary for the 2018-19 school year, seconded by Tim Casper (Lake Preston). All present voted aye. Motion carried.Nominations for Delegate Assembly (January 29, 2019). SDSSA is entitled to thirteen (13) representatives. The distribution as follows: President, President-elect, Past President, members of the SASD Legislative Committee (Kelly Glodt, Dan Leikvold, Jeff Danielsen) and one (1) rep from each region and two (2) at-large. We also need three (3) alternates. (m)At-Large Delegate #1—George Seiler, New Underwood. Motion was made by Dan Leikvold (Lead-Deadwood), seconded by Summer Schultz (Dell Rapids).At-Large Delegate #2—Derek Barrios, Elk Point-Jefferson. Motion was made by Jim Holbeck (Harrisburg), seconded by Donavan DeBoer (Parker).Alternate #1—Linda Foos, Wagner. Motion was made by Brad Peters (Bon Homme, seconded by Terry Eckstaine (Ethan).Alternate #2—Charlene Crosswait, Menno. Motion carried.AASA National Conference on Education—Los Angeles, CA (February 14-16, 2019).Housing—JW Mariott LA Live—5 rooms have been set aside for Tuesday night, 40 rooms for Wednesday through Friday night, and then 15 rooms for Saturday night.?President Danielsen reviewed the room arrangements for the AASA National Conference on Education that will be held in Los Angeles on February 14-16, 2019.State Reception—TBD (hosted by sponsors G & R Controls and Hillyard).President Danielsen reviewed the arrangements that have been made for the SD Reception at the AASA National Conference on Education. The reception will be held at Rock‘n Fish—Downtown L.A. Live (). The address is 800 W. Olympic Blvd Ste A160, Los Angeles, CA 90015. The reception and meal will be sponsored by G & R Controls and Hillyard, Inc.Other BusinessForrest Connors loan available—$1500 interest free with payback to SDSSA after three (3) years. There are up to three (3) available. He presented the traveling President plaque to Mr. Tim Graf, the new SDSSA President for the 2018-19 school year.
