GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE

NONPUBLIC DAY SCHOOL REPORT–SPE-106R00

This report must be completed by each district contracting students with disabilities to Texas Education Agency approved nonpublic day schools for the basic educational program. All students reported must be contracted on a full day basis. Do not report students contracted for incidental and/or specific services provided for less than a full day. Do not include students contracted for residential placement. Duplicate this report if additional space is needed.

REPORT COLUMN INSTRUCTIONS

Column A–Enter the name and address of the Texas Education Agency approved nonpublic day school identified in each student’s contract. Contact your education service center to verify that the facility listed is approved to contract for nonpublic day school placements.

Column B–Enter the district’s PEIMS identification number for each student with disabilities contracted to an approved nonpublic day school. Do not enter the student's name.

Column C–Enter each student’s date of birth.

Column D–Enter each student’s primary disability using the two- or three-letter disability code referenced below. Do not show more than one disability for each student listed.

Column E–Enter the number of months that each student was contracted during the school year. Use whole numbers only. If a contract includes a fraction or portion of a month, round up to the next whole number.

Column F–This column is For TEA use only.

CALCULATION OF STATE SPECIAL EDUCATION FUNDS

Full-time equivalents (FTEs) for state special education funds for nonpublic day school contracts are determined from the information reported on the Nonpublic Day School Report as follows:

1 to 8 months in contract = .1 to .8 FTEs

9 to 12 months in contract = 1 FTE

Contract students are NOT eligible for average daily attendance (ADA) or contact hours. FTEs generated by contract students will not be deducted from the district’s ADA.
