Ask your child to come back into the room and find the treasure. Remind them that they will have to using their LOOKING skills to find the treasure Who Looks Different?Have a small selection of dress up materials (e.g. hats, crowns, glasses). Choose a child to close their eyes. Change another child/adult’s appearance using one of the dress up materials. The child is then told to open their eyes and LOOK and see who looks different. Staying Quiet Creep Up Behind _____Choose one person to stand with their eyes closed and place an object behind them. The other player/players have to QUIETLY sneak up behind the person and try to take the object. If they make any noise, the person with their eyes closed can turn around and try to catch them. Noisy Object Race Choose a noisy object (e.g. keys/musical instrument) and challenge 2 members of your household to get from one end of a room to the other, without making any noise! If someone makes a noise, they have to go back to the start. The first person to reach the end without making any noise is the winner. Sitting Still Sitting Still with Distractions Challenge children to try sit as still as possible, and see how long they last. Add in some fun distractions e.g. bubbles, jokes, their favourite toy or even tickles!Musical Bumps Let your child choose some music. Place some cushions on the floor and dance around then. Tell your child that when the music stops, they have to find a cushion to sit on and try to sit really still until the music starts playing again.Listening to all the wordsCategories GameChoose a topic that your child knows a lot about e.g. animals. With other members of your household, take it in turns to name something from that topic. All players have to LISTEN to all of the words, and not repeat something that somebody else has said. Who Am I?Take it in turns to think of a person (famous or known to your household), animal or object. Give the rest of the players clues about the person/animal/object you are thinking about. Players must LISTEN to the clues that you give in order to guess correctly! Do As I Say And Not As I doSimilar to ‘Simon Says’, give children instructions.
