This establishment is a local women’s prison with a population of circa 450, taking prisoners directly from the courts. My experience and duties included: Supply and deliver methods and approaches in response to the changing needs of the learners of a diverse ethnic and cultural background. Participate in staff appraisal in accordance with the establishment policies. Planned and implemented class swaps in identified curriculum areas that maximised teacher skill sharing and guaranteed quality programs for all students namely (Music, Art, Numeracy and Languages). • Organising events, supervising two Classroom Assistants. Advised and supported staff on planning, assessment and resources, including lesson modeling, and implemented IT within this process. Developed students' interests, abilities and co-ordination by way of creative activities.

Identified gaps and drew up schemes and policies to ensure a broader curriculum is covered. Tested and evaluated students for individual progress in written and oral work. Prepared and administering assignments, projects and exams. Discussed with students and parents, their progress and problems. Encouraging parents to be actively involved.

Organised and coordinated in out of school activities for students. Involved in many areas of school life whilst developing close working relationships an active PTA. Liaised with classroom teachers in regard to problems students. Gained experience of teaching students with ages 12, 13, 14, 15 with SEN and English as a second language. Met all increasing intake demands. Liaising with other Education Authorities and Organisations. Working in partnership with Lambeth College/ Hyde Association and (CCP) Portuguese Communities Council as a Visiting teacher and coordinator at Stockwell Park School, ICT/ESOL target group also Coordinator at Stockwell Community Centre.

Achievements

Best Student Volunteer of the Year 2010 –“Runner up -3th place” Edge Hill University. Start up, improved the quality of provision for students with special educational needs, while in charge as Coordinator of the Westway Development Trust (Dadihiye Somali Organisation) Supplementary school who submitted my application to Edge Hill University:

Took responsibility for whole school issues. Provided reports to parents ‘evenings, work experience and pastoral care, including tutoring, Managed assessment procedure including, target setting and bench marking. Improved and resolved service delivery after encouraging positive feedback.

(Special Needs) Improved behaviour and attitudes by supporting bilingual students, created manuals-procedures and conducted teaching in Numeracy, ICT, Science and DTs and procedures.

Plaque award- July 2011. In recognition and gratitude for the permanent support and fund raising contribution to the Anglo Paraguayan Society in the UK .Nominated honorary secretary of the society. Create, direct and manage meetings and lead fund raising events.
