FADE IN:

Roll credits

A blazing meteor hurtles past Pluto, then Uranus, then Saturn.

It charges into a thick mist of space dust.

MIST

The meteor zips past asteroids. It collides with several asteroids shattering them into hundreds of burning fragments.

The meteor soars out of the mist approaching Mars.

METEOR

It tumbles past Mars heading straight for Earth.

As the torrid meteor plunges past the moon, pieces of debris from the meteor's tail crash onto the moon's surface.

The dust settles, revealing newly created craters.

Burning fragments shred from the meteor plunging into the Earth’s atmosphere.

EXT. WATERS OFF A HARBOR-CLEAR NIGHT

A private yacht floats calmly in the still water.

YACHT

Two shirtless drunken teenagers wearing khakis leans against the rail at the rear of the boat.

TEENAGER ONE

Look at all the little fishies swimming there. Hey, wanna see if they like beer?

TEENAGER ONE POURS BEER OVER THE SIDE OF THE BOAT.

TEENAGER TWO

I always wanted to see what they look like when they're getting a buzz.

TEENAGER TWO TAKES A SWIG OF HIS BEER, POURS THE REST OVERBOARD, THEN CRUSHES THE CAN AGAINST HIS FOREHEAD.

TEENAGER TWO

OHHHHHH YEA!

TEENAGER TWO TOSSES THE CRUSHED CAN OVERBOARD. HE REACHES DOWN AND PULLS OUT A COLD BEER FROM THE COOLER.

TEENAGER TWO

Dude! This beer kicks ass, where'd you get this?

TEENAGER ONE

My old man, what kind of shit does your old man have?

TEENAGER ONE FINISHES DUMPING THE BEER OVERBOARD. HE TOSSES THE CAN INTO THE WATER, THEN PULLS OUT TWO CANS OF BEER.

TEENAGER ONE

Yo, betcha fifty bucks I can chug these two suckers down in one swing.

TEENAGER TWO

You’re on…you better fucking have the money to back it up this time.

AS TEENAGER ONE POPS BOTH CANS OPEN, THE LIGHT FROM THE BURNING METEOR IGNITES THE NIGHT SKY.

Both teenagers squint their eyes, gazing at the meteor.

TEENAGER TWO

Damn! What the hell is that?

THE METEOR HEADS STRAIGHT FOR THE YACHT. TEENAGER ONE POINTS AT IT.

TEENAGER ONE

Whatever the fuck it is, it’s heading straight for us…

BOTH TEENAGERS JUMP OVERBOARD.

The meteor disintegrates the yacht.

WATER

The two teenagers surface. They stare at the burning wreck, mouth ajar.

EXT. REAR OF THE SALVAGE BOAT OFF HARBOR-LATE MORNING

A curious crowd gathers along the harbor watching the salvage crew at work.

A mustached man wearing a "F.B.I." jacket leans over the railing. Behind him is a greasy worker in flannels holding the crane's control in his hand with a lit cigarette between his lips.

A diver pops out of the water; he tears his goggles off, spits his mouthpiece out, and brushes his damp hair back.

FBI MAN

Is everything secured?

DIVER GIVES A THUMB UP.

diver

Yea, everything is all secured, you can lift her up whenever you're ready.

THE FBI MAN GIVES A THUMB UP BACK TO THE DIVER.

FBI MAN

Good.

THE DIVER GRABS ONTO THE SIDE OF THE BOAT AND TOSSES HIS GOGGLES ON THE BOAT’S DECK. HE LOOKS UP AT THE FBI MAN AND EXTENDS HIS HAND OUT.

FBI Man helps the diver climb back in the boat.

Diver

Thanks...

THE DIVER UN-HOLSTERS HIS AIR TANK FROM HIS WETSUIT, DROPPING IT ONTO THE DECK, THEN WALKS OFF.

The FBI Man waves to the crane operator.

FBI MAN

Ok, bring her up.

THE CRANE OPERATOR PRESSES A BUTTON ON THE CONTROL. THE CRANE LIFTS A GREEN METEOR SEALED IN A CLEAR HARD PLASTIC SHIELD OUT OF THE WATER.

FBI MAN

Ok, bring her in, slowly...she's worth more then you and me will ever make.

THE CRANE LIFTS THE METEOR ABOVE THE BOAT'S DECK, AND THEN SLOWLY LOWERS IT.

FBI MAN

Careful now, careful...set it down gently.

THUMP, THE METEOR HITS THE DECK HARD. THE FBI MAN’S FACE FLUSHES RED.

FBI MAN

God damn it, I said be gentle with that thing!

crane operator

Sorry boss.

THE CRANE OPERATOR REMOVES THE BUTT OF HIS CIGARETTE FROM HIS MOUTH, TOSSES IT TO THE FLOOR, AND GRINDS IT UNDER HIS SHOE.

INT. MEETING ROOM

The curtains in the room are pulled shut. Five suited men sit around a rectangular conference table facing a large television set building into the wall listening tentatively to a mid-aged doctor in white medical lab coat at the head of the table beside the projection screen.

The doctor remotely starts up a video footage of a doctor in a biohazard suit carrying a frail monkey out of its cage to a surgical bench where he straps the monkey down.

DOCTOR

...We cultivated the foreign virus extracted from the meteor and injected a group of monkeys infected with Ebola-Zaire using the samples from the culture kept at the center for disease control. I imagine all of you are aware of the lethality of Ebola...

THE DOCTOR FORWARDS THE FOOTAGE TO ONE SHOWING THE MONKEYS ACTIVELY BOUNCING UP AND DOWN IN A SMALL CONFINED ROOM.

DOCTOR

This is an hour after initial introduction of the viral strain...

ONCE AGAIN THE DOCTOR FORWARDS THE FOOTAGE TO THAT OF A BLOOD SAMPLE UNDER POWERFUL MICROSCOPE.

DOCTOR

We weren't sure why the monkeys suddenly became healthy, so we tested blood samples from each of the monkeys...and there was no trace of the Ebola virus found in the blood samples...Nine additional tests were conducted with duplicate results.

THE DOCTOR FORWARDS THE FOOTAGE AGAIN, SHOWING THE WILD MONKEYS LOCKED IN CAGES.

DOCTOR

We kept the group in isolation and under constant surveillance for a little more then a month, twice the required time for Ebola to inhabit and kill its host...as you can see, the monkeys are quite healthy...and very active.

THE DOCTOR SKIPS THE DIGITAL VIDEO TO ONE SHOWING A MAN IN HIS EARLY THIRTIES SITTING ON THE EDGE OF THE BED HOLDING TIGHTLY ONTO HIS STOMACH. THE ROOM IS DIMLY LIT. HE STARES STRAIGHT AHEAD WITH BLOODSHOT EYES AS A MEDICAL PERSON IN A BIOHAZARD SUIT INJECTS HIM WITH A CLEAR SOLUTION.

DOCTOR

Then, we moved on to testing the viral culture on a human subject...the subject's name is William DeBaun, A captain in the US Army Special Forces. He was operating in Zaire when he contracted Ebola...probably from ingesting wild animals, namely rodents.

ON THE TV SCREEN, THE NURSE LEAVES DEBAUN, WHO IS STILL IN HIS COMBAT UNIFORM, SITTING ON THE EDGE OF HIS BED STARING STRAIGHT AHEAD.

DOCTOR

Mr. DeBaun's case is complicated with the discovery that he not only carries Ebola, but also the AIDS virus. We never tested the sample on AIDS carrying subjects, but due to the short life expectancy for the subject, which is approximately anywhere been twenty-eight and forty hours at the most. We went ahead and injected him with a sample extracted from the culture.

THE DOCTOR SKIPS THE FOOTAGE TO DEBAUN DOING SIT-UPS ON THE FLOOR.

DOCTOR

This is taken a day after treatment. We tested his blood for both AIDS and Ebola. The result came back negative for filamentous particles in his blood.

THE DOCTOR TURNS THE TV OFF AS HE WALKS TO THE LIGHT SWITCH BY THE DOOR AND TURNS IT ON.

DOCTOR

Gentlemen, what you have just witnessed is a miracle unprecedented in nature. This unknown virus holds the key to the cure for many of the deadliest infections known to mankind.

(BEAT)

The only side effect that we have noticed in Mr. DeBaun is his spontaneous increase in strength.

EXT. TUNNEL LEADING TO A DIGITALLY LOCKED SLIDING DOOR

A nurse wearing biohazard suit carries a tray of food through the static free tunnel toward the sliding door.

The nurse inserts the tray into a slot in the wall, where the tray is scanned as it slides through the wall. The nurse enters her password on the digital keypad on the metallic doorframe.

BEEP, the door slides open letting the nurse into the static free room, then BEEP, CLICK, the door reseals itself behind the nurse.

INT. CONTAINMENT ROOM

The nurse turns around to the slot on the wall removing the tray from the slot.

NURSE

She turns around carrying the tray toward DeBaun who sits on the edge of his bed in white T-shirt and pajamas watching the film “Devil's Brigade“ on TV.

She sets the tray down on top of the nightstand beside the bed.

NURSE

Hello William, its time for dinner. How are you feeling today?

DEBAUN

Like shit! I want out of this inferno now!

NURSE

When you’re better, you're almost recovered, be patient.

DEBAUN STANDS UP FURIOUS.

DEBAUN

No. Do you know how long it’s been since I saw my wife, my kids, my dog Rocky?

(BREAKS DOWN IN TEARS)

I miss them...It's more than a fucking year now. You people lied to me. You told me I'd be out in a few weeks, then a few months. God, I’m human too, I have every right to see my family.

NURSE

I know you want to go home, but you can't leave. You are not well enough.

NURSE SETS THE TRAY DOWN ON THE NIGHTSTAND, TAKES SEVERAL STEPS BACK.

Nurse

Just wait here and I'll go see what I can do?

DEBAUN

That's what you said yesterday, and the day before that. God damn it, I'm not a fool. I know you'll not going to help me. They’ll never let me go, I’m their guinea pig now.

NURSE

What are you talking about? I want to help you. I really do. Be patient, we’ll get you out eventually.

DEBAUN

No, everyday it’s test after test after test. It's driving me insane, I want out of this shit hole. I don’t want to wait years after they’re done doing tests on me before I get out. I want out NOW!

NURSE

(Fearful)

No, you can't...you signed a contract!

DEBAUN

Screw the contract, I'm leaving.

THE NURSE STANDS UP AND STEPS IN FRONT OF DEBAUN.

NURSE

I can't let you do that.

DEBAUN GRABS THE NURSE'S THROAT

DEBAUN

Look Miss...

HE READS THE NAME PRINTED ON THE BIOHAZARD SUIT.

DEBAUN

Bernicky, you have been very good taking care of me. I don't want to hurt you, so please, stay out of my way, ok?

THE NURSE NODS.

NURSE

Ok, ok.

DEBAUN

What’s the pin number?

NURSE

What?

DEBAUN

The password to the door.

NURSE

(Hesitate)

Five nine two five three.

DEBAUN NODS, STEPS AROUND THE NURSE HEADING FOR THE DOOR.

The nurse pushes herself back up to her feet. She rubs the back of her head for a second, then picks up the tray and sneaks up behind DeBaun.

WHAMP, she swings the tray with all her might against the back of the DeBaun's head, knocking him forward onto the floor.

As DeBaun does a martial arts back flip onto his feet, he reaches out and tears a large portion of the nurse's biohazard suit exposing her naked neck.

As he backs the nurse to the metallic wall, he examines the nurse's neck. The nurse gasps as her back touches the wall.

nurse

What are you going to do to me?

WITH A GROWL, HE GRABS THE NURSE'S LOWER JAW, FORCING HER HEAD TO TILT TO ONE SIDE. HE OPENS HIS MOUTH AND EXTENDS OUT HIS TONGUE, SHINK, A POINTY ROD SHOOTS OUT FROM THE PARTED TIP OF HIS TONGUE PIERCING DEEP INTO THE NURSE'S NECK, AND THEN IT RETRACTS, LEAVING HER SCREAMING IN PAIN. SHE COVERS THE GASHING WOUND WITH HER HAND.

DeBaun affixes on the blood streaming through her fingers with fascination. He pulls the nurse's neck to his lips. DeBaun wraps his lips tightly around the wound as he drinks the weakening nurse’s blood with deep satisfaction.

INT. FACILITY HALLWAY

Two military police officers walk past a large thick metal double door, BOOM, DeBaun bursts through the door headfirst.

The military police turn pointing their assault rifles at DeBaun yelling simultaneously.

military police ONE

Stop right there! Put your hands up!

MP TWO

Hold it! Hands up where we can see them!

DEBAUN CALMLY STANDS IN FRONT OF THE MILITARY POLICE WITH HIS HANDS ABOVE HIS HEAD. HIS EYES WANDER FROM ONE OFFICER TO THE OTHER.

The first officer draws his walkie-talkie from its holster strapped to his waist belt.

MP ONE

Base, this is security sweep Bravo, we have the subject quarantined. Our current position is in the main hallway on D block, adjacent to the genetics lab. Over.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE.

RADIO

(Static)

Ahem, roger that Bravo. Tango, Alpha, and Zulu are on their way.

DEBAUN

DeBaun’s pupils shrink as the white of his eyes turn yellow. He blinks, and his eyes turn into cat eyes. He leaps forward, charging at the two military police like a lion.

The two officers open fire, knocking DeBaun backward onto the floor. Blood oozes out from underneath him as the two officers give each other a nod and advance cautiously toward DeBaun with their rifle ready.

Blood stops oozing out underneath DeBaun.

The two officers stand on both sides of DeBaun. The second officer nudges DeBaun's side with the tip of his shoe while the other stands aside with rifle pointed at DeBaun.

DeBaun gives no response. The two officers give each other a nervous glance.

military police ONE

Is he dead?

MILITARY POLICE ONE LOOKS DOWN AT DEBAUN THEN BACK AT HIS PARTNER.

military police TWO

He gotta be.

DEBAUN'S RIGHT ARM SLIDES SLOWLY TOWARD THE LEAD PIPING RUNNING ALONG THE BASE OF THE WALL.

military police ONE

You sure? I mean, did you check his pulse?

DEBAUN TEARS OFF A SECTION OF THE PIPE, SWINGING IT AROUND STRIKING THE BACK OF OFFICER ONE'S HEAD. GAS LEAKS OUT FROM THE PIPING.

The officer falls to the floor with the back of his head stained in blood as the other officer opens fire on DeBaun.

DeBaun drops the pipe as he scales up the wall then crawls on the ceiling, landing behind the enraged military officer.

The officer spins around surprised to find DeBaun in his face.

DeBaun grabs his throat, tearing a piece of his esophagus out, then runs off leaving his victim on the floor gasping for air.

EXT. FACILITY-NIGHT

Loud sirens fill the air as DeBaun dashes toward the cement wall with barbed wires erected on top of it. At the front gate soldiers are waiting behind jeeps and hummers in defensive positions as black helicopters fly above the compound searching for DeBaun with the searchlight mounted under the helicopter.

DEBAUN

DeBaun hits the ground, lying flat as a helicopter swoops past him. The helicopter's searchlight barely misses him.

He takes a deep breath, and then pushes himself back onto his feet just as a second helicopter flies by. The second helicopter's searchlight shines on DeBaun fleeing toward the cement wall.

MICROPHONE VOICE

Halt! Stop right where you are!

DEBAUN CONTINUES RUNNING TOWARD THE CEMENT WALL.

MICROPHONE VOICE

This is your last warning, if you do not comply immediately we will commence firing.

THE MACHINEGUN ON THE HELICOPTER FLASHES AS DIRT BEHIND DEBAUN KICKS UP.

He runs up the cement wall, then does a one handed cartwheel over the barbed wires.

EXT. CORN FIELD-NIGHT

The searchlight from the pursuing helicopter, HELICOPTER ONE, keeping track of DeBaun as he runs for his life from the blazing machine gun.

WOOOOOSH, an approaching helicopter, HELICOPTER TWO, launches a heat-seeking missile at DeBaun.

BOOM, the missile explodes beside DeBaun, knocking him onto his side.

Helicopter Two swoops by the charred ground as Helicopter One suspends in mid-air shinning its searchlight on the ground where DeBaun's charred body lies motionless.

Moments later, DeBaun rolls over and gets back onto his feet, fleeing in torn clothing as his burned skin heals at an incredible rate.

Helicopter One opens fire on DeBaun as Helicopter Two makes a hard turn, coming back around with machine guns blazing.

The distant whistles of an approaching train get louder and louder.

As DeBaun approaches the railroad track, a cargo train cuts in front of him. DeBaun looks behind him and sees the two helicopters approaching with blazing machineguns.

He dives to the ground as the helicopters swoops pass above him and over the freight train.

DEBAUN

DeBaun looks to his left then his right before getting back up on his feet chasing after the train. He leaps onto the side of a boxcar with graffiti on it.

He stands with his back against the large sliding door of the boxcar for a few seconds panting, and then he slides the door open falling backward inside the car.

RAILROAD

As the last section of the train rolls by, the two helicopters finish a sharp turn heading after the train.

PILOT

Dragon Guard Two reporting to base, subject has boarded the train. Permission to engage. Over.

BASE

Negative Dragon Guard Two, return to base. Over and out.

PILOT

Ten-six, returning to base...

THE TWO HELICOPTERS TURN AROUND HEADING TOWARD THE COMPOUND.

EXT. RAILROAD CROSSING-EARLY MORNING

The train passes by an empty railroad crossing at a very slow pace.

BOXCAR WITH GRAFFITI

The door opens slightly. DeBaun pops his head out looking around for a few seconds, then opens the door wider, waits, and leaps out of the train.

DEBAUN

He rolls several times on the grass beside the railroad before coming to a stop. DeBaun, drenched in blood, gets up and hurries toward a residential district.

Ext. open backyard

DeBaun is using a garden hose to wash off the dried blood caked on his skin.

A second floor light turns on. A woman sticks her head out of the window.

woman

Hey you, what do you think you are doing?

DEBAUN DROPS THE GARDEN HOSE AND FLEES OUT OF THE YARD.

ext. pitch dark alley-cloudy night

A shadowy figure strolls down the alley.

Two figures step out from a rundown building, and quietly stalk the shadowy figure.

Shadowy figure

The two figures accost the shadowy figure. The first figure taps the shadowy figure on the shoulder.

The shadowy figure turns to the first figure. Under the brief moment of moonlight, DeBaun’s face revealed.

DeBaun

Yes? May I help you with something?

FIGURE TWO SIDE STEPS BEHIND DEBAUN.

Figure one

Yea.

FIGURE TWO DRAWS A SWITCHBLADE AND STABS DEBAUN IN THE BACK. DEBAUN ARCHES HIS BACK, GROWLING FIERCELY.

figure two

Hurry up, grab his wallet.

DEBAUN SPINS AROUND, TWISTS THE KNIFE OUT OF FIGURE TWO’S HAND. HE JERKS FIGURE TWO’S HEAD DOWN BY THE HAIR, THEN WITH A POWERFUL DOWNWARD MOTION, HE JABS THE SWITCHBLADE INTO THE BACK OF FIGURE TWO’S SKULL.

Figure one backs off several steps, pointing at the dead man on the ground.

figure one

Shit, fuck man, I was just fucking around man, the whole stab thing was his idea!

DEBAUN SLOWLY TURNS HIS HEAD TOWARD FIGURE ONE.

figure one

Fuck man, I’m sorry man…

FIGURE ONE SPRINTS FOR THE OPEN STREET.

DeBaun spins around leaping into the air. He lands on figure one’s back.

He snaps figure one’s head with his forearms. DeBaun lets go of the dead body, letting it drop to the ground, then bends down and pulls the T-shirt off the corpse.

EXT. STREET-DAY

DeBaun keeps his eyes on the ground in front of him as he walks on the sidewalk in oversized clothes.

He cuts across a grass field, then through a large packed parking lot and into the Wal-Mart.

INT. WAL-MART

DeBaun holds a Bud Light T-shirt up in front of him examining it for a few seconds, then carries it over to the pants section where he picks out a pair of jeans.

EXT. DRESSING ROOM

DeBaun walks up to one of the open dressing rooms. He looks up at the security camera then enters the dressing room to his left.

LATER

DeBaun walks out of the dressing room dressed in the new clothes.

As DeBaun walks confidently toward the exit, an obese female employee waddles as fast as she can after him.

FEMALE EMPLOYEE

Stop him! Stop him! Shoplifter! Joey, don't let him through that door!

JOEY, A TEENAGE EMPLOYEE WEARING OLD BLUE JEANS AND A WAL-MART SHIRT WITH HIS NAME ON A TAG IS HANDING SHOPPING CARTS TO PEOPLE ENTERING THE STORE. HE STEPS IN FRONT OF DEBAUN TO INTERCEPT HIM.

JOEy

Hey! Look buddy…

DEBAUN

Out of the way kid.

DEBAUN PUSHES JOEY, KNOCKING HIM BACKWARD INTO A ROW OF SHOPPING CART AS HE CALMLY WALKS BY.

The Female Employee waddles toward Joey, whose eyes are watery as he lies on the floor applying pressure to his lower back.

JOEy

(Panicky)

Ah! fuck! I can't feel my legs! I can't feel them!

THE FEMALE EMPLOYEE BENDS DOWN PLACING HER HANDS ON JOEY'S SHOULDER, SHAKING HIM GENTLY.

FEMALE EMPLOYEE

Calm down Joey, you'll be all right. You just hold on. We're going to get you to a hospital. They'll fix you up.

FEMALE EMPLOYEE TURNS TO THE STUNNED CUSTOMERS.

FEMALE EMPLOYEE

Will somebody call an ambulance!

EXT. WAL-MART

A Black Jeep Cherokee stops for a stop sign as DeBaun runs around the front of it. He rips open the driver's door and pulls a teenage girl out of the Jeep. He throws her onto the street as he himself gets into the Jeep.

DeBaun shuts the driver's door and speeds away as the teenager gets up rubbing her elbow.

TEENAGER GIRL

Hey, you creep! That’s my dad's jeep.

SHE JUMPS UP AND DOWN CRYING.

The jeep squeaks to a stop. The driver door window rolls down, then several shopping bags are shoved out of the window scattering the contents all over the ground. The jeep then speeds away.

EXT. rural residential STREET-AFTERNOON

On both sides of the street are houses. Across the street sits a black Cadillac with two suited men inside. They are spying on a blue house where two young boys play with toy cars on the front lawn.

The black Jeep pulls up in front of the house and shuts its engine off.

JEEP

DeBaun is wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses watching the two boys play. He glances down at an unfolded photo in his hands of himself in Army uniform with a woman standing behind the two boys sitting on the floor. Tears roll down his cheek onto the photo.

A red Ford Taurus pulls into the driveway, then an Air Force Major steps out of the car. The woman in the photo opens the front door and waits for him. The Major walks up to the woman and embraces her.

DeBaun shakes in rage. He slams his fist down on the steering wheel, accidentally sounding the horn gaining immediate attention. He starts the engine, shifts gears, and speeds away.

EXT. SIDE OF THE BLUE HOUSE-NIGHT

DeBaun cuts several thick wires leading into the house one by one with a wire cutter.

MAJOR

Tomorrow, yea, we got to go over those plans with…

(CLICK)

Hello? Hello? Damn it!

WOMAN

Honey, watch your mouth in front of the kids.

DEBAUN STUFFS THE WIRE CUTTER INTO HIS POCKET AND HURRIES AWAY.

WOMAN

Honey, something's wrong with the TV, I can't get any channels on this darn thing.

MAJOR

Ok, I'll take a look at it after I find out what's wrong with the stupid phone.

WOMAN

Ok, but don’t take too long.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE, THEN THE CREAKING SOUND OF THE FRONT DOOR OPENING FOLLOWED BY THE SOUND OF SOMEONE BRUSHING BY THE BUSHES.

The Major turns the corner of the house with a flashlight in hand. He bends down examining the cut wires.

MAJOR

What the hell?

DEBAUN PULLS THE MAJOR, WHO IS IN KHAKIS AND A SHIRT, UP BY THE COLLAR AND COVERS HIS MOUTH WITH A HAND AS HE PUSHES HIM BACK AGAINST THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE.

DEBAUN

On your feet Soldier!

THE MAJOR BITES DEBAUN'S HAND. BLOOD SEEPS FROM THE CUT. DEBAUN BITS HIS OWN LIPS TO HOLD BACK THE PAIN.

DEBAUN

That hurts flyboy!

DEBAUN COVERS THE MAJOR'S MOUTH WITH HIS OTHER HAND. HE HOLDS UP THE BITTEN HAND AND EXAMINES IT AS THE WOUND RAPIDLY HEALS TERRIFYING THE MAJOR. DEBAUN WIGGLES HIS FINGERS IN FRONT OF THE MAJOR THEN FORMS A FIST AND PUNCHES THE MAJOR IN THE GUTS SENDING HIM BENDING OVER GROANING IN PAIN.

DeBaun straightens the Major up by the pulling on his hair. The hand over the Major's mouth muffles his scream.

DEBAUN

Attention!

(BEAT)

Who the hell are you? And what are you doing in my house with my wife and kids? And where the hell is my dog?

THE MAJOR MUMBLES SOMETHING GIVING DEBAUN THE CHANCE TO PUNCH HIM IN THE GUTS AGAIN. DEBAUN STRAIGHTENS HIM BACK UP BY THE HAIR.

DEBAUN

Speak up flyboy!

DEBAUN LOOKS AT HIS HAND COVERING THE MAJOR'S MOUTH AS THE TREMBLING MAJOR TRIES TO SPEAK.

DEBAUN

You yell, I kill you. You got that?

THE MAJOR NODS HIS HEAD.

DEBAUN

Ok.

(REMOVES HAND)

Start talking. Now, who the hell are you?

MAJOR

Smith, Charles Smith, United States Air Force, Major, commanding officer of the 221st fighter group.

DEBAUN

What the hell are you doing in my house with my wife and kids?

MAJOR

That's impossible, my wife's ex-husband died over a year ago.

DEBAUN PUNCHES THE MAJOR IN THE FACE GIVING HIM A BLOODY NOSE.

DEBAUN

Your wife? Liz is your wife?

MAJOR NODS

DEBAUN

For how long?

MAJOR

Two months. Hey you leave her and the kids out of this. whatever this is about it is between you and me.

DEBAUN LEANS CLOSE TO THE MAJOR COVERING HIS MOUTH AGAIN.

DEBAUN

That's my wife you're with and those are my kids in there. Let me tell you something flyboy, I don't like you and I will get back at that cheating slut. Now, what have you done with my dog?

MAJOR

It was hit by a car.

DEBAUN, TRYING TO CONTROL HIS TEMPER.

debaun

A car? Whose car?

MAJOR

(Hesitant)

Ah…

DEBAUN BANGS THE MAJOR AGAINST THE WALL.

DeBaun

(Furious)

Whose car?

MAJOR

My car.

DEBAUN

Let me guess, by killing my dog you got to meet my wife?

THE MAJOR'S EYES WIDEN AS DEBAUN PUNCHES INTO HIS CHEST, TEARING OUT HIS HEART HOLDING IT UP IN FRONT OF THE MAJOR'S STRAINING FACE.

DEBAUN

See you in hell flyboy...

THE MAJOR GIVES OFF A WHIMPER BEFORE COLLAPSING. DEBAUN BRUSH THE MAJOR’S BODY OFF HIS SHOULDER ONTO THE GROUND.

He holds up the bloody heart in front of him and licks the blood off of it before tossing it on the floor. SMASH DeBaun squashes the heart under his feet before walking away.

EXT. FRONT PORCH-NIGHT

DeBaun walks up to the front porch. As he is about to ring the doorbell, his eyes catch sight of the nametag on the door which reads 'Smith'. He angrily tears the nametag from the door revealing the old nametag 'DeBaun'. He looks at the nametag in his hand then his nose perks up sniffing the air like a dog.

He turns and sees a gray haired man in his robe and sandals walking his dog across the street. He shoves the nametag in his pocket. He licks his canine teeth with his tongue. He crosses the street after the man.

MAN

The man’s dog leads him to the front door of a one-story house.

As the man finds the key on his key chain, he snaps around in alarm. Finding nothing behind him he returns to finding the house key.

The man opens the glass swing door, letting his dog in first. As the man closes the door, DeBaun launches toward the front door from the large tree in the front lawn. He bursts into the house before the man can close the door.

INT. HOUSE

DeBaun bursts through the door knocking the man down onto the wooden floor. He turns on the man exposing his perfect white teeth as the dog growls and barks at him.

SHRRRK SHRRRK, a long thin scaly rod from the tip of DeBaun's tongue pierces through the dog's back then retracts. The dog gives a weak yelp before collapsing.

The man looks at his dog in fear and anger. He grabs the shoes beside him, tossing them at DeBaun one by one as he screams in rage.

MAN

AHHHHH! You killed Lucky! You killed my dog!

DEBAUN SHOOTS THE ROD OUT AGAIN IMPALING THE SHOE THAT THE MAN IS ABOUT TO PICK UP ON THE FLOOR. THE MAN LOOKS AT THE IMPALED SHOE IN HORROR. HE GETS UP RUNNING INTO HIS STUDY.

The man bursts into the study room, heading for the shotgun mounted on the wall behind his grand desk. Again, the rod shoots out from DeBaun’s tongue falling slightly short of piercing the man's head.

The man lifts the shotgun off its rack just as DeBaun strolls into the room. The man turns around pumping several shots into DeBaun.

DeBaun's dismantled face heals as he walks toward the man, who backs up against the bookshelf.

MAN

Who are you? What do you want?

(PULLS OUT CASH FROM WALLET)

You want money? Here, here's all I got, take it! Just take it.

THE MAN CURLS UP AGAINST THE BOOKSHELF, COVERING HIS FACE WITH HIS HANDS.

man

(Whines)

Please don’t hurt me! Please! Ahhhh!

THE MAN TOSSES THE CASH TOWARD DEBAUN.

DEBAUN

I don't need your money.

MAN

Ok, ok…what about this?

(TAKE OFF ROLEX WATCH)

Genuine Rolex, worth a fortune. Here, it's yours…

DEBAUN GRABS THE MAN'S THROAT LIFTING HIM UP OFF THE GROUND. HE EXTENDS OUT HIS TONGUE, SHRRRRK, THE ROD SHOOTS OUT INTO THE MAN'S CHEST THEN RETRACTS. THE MAN LOOKS DOWN AT HIS BLEEDING WOUND IN HORROR, TOO TERRIFIED TO MOVE. DEBAUN WATCHES THE BLOOD POUR OUT OF THE MAN'S CHEST.

His eyes morph into cat-like eyes. He opens his mouth and urgently presses it around the man's wound sucking deeply.

The man's eyes roll back as his entire body stiffens.

EXT. MAJOR'S HOUSE-NIGHT

Police cars and ambulances are parked on the street and in the driveway of the house. Liz stands beside several friends on the lawn crying. She and a friend beside her hold the two children in their arms. The Neighbors are gathering on the sidewalk behind several news teams.

An unmarked car pulls to the side of the street.

UNMARKED CAR

Two detectives, Doug, in his mid forties wearing a gray trench coat and Dave, in his early thirties, wearing white T-shirt tucked in his jeans. They step out of the car.

They flash their badges to the police officer standing guard, then put on the rubber gloves from their pockets as they walk toward the crime scene.

A chubby cop waddles past them toward the parked police cars.

CHUBBY COP

Hey what's up guys? How’s Jena?

DAVE

I think she’s doing fine.

CHUBBY COP

You think?

DAVE

Yea, we broke up a week ago.

THEY WALK BY EACH OTHER.

CHUBBY COP

Oh yea, I forgot, the month ended last week.

DOUG TURNS TO DAVE WITH A QUESTIONED LOOK.

DOUG

What was wrong with Jena?

DAVE

I don’t know, I’m still young you know, I can’t be in a serious relationship, I mean the idea of a serious relationship just scares me.

DOUG CHUCKLES

doug

You’re still young. So who’s the new girl?

EXT. SIDE OF HOUSE-NIGHT

A senior police officer stands out of the crime photographer's way as he takes pictures of the Major. The two detectives walk up to the Major's dead body without regards to the photographer and crouch down on both sides of the body. Doug takes a pen using it as a guide.

DOUG

Look at this…you ever seen anything like this?

DAVE

No. It looks like a Mafia hit. Only they would of wanted the heart as a trophy.

SENIOR POLICE OFFICER

No, they took nothing?

DOUG TURNS TO SENIOR COP.

DOUG

Sorry, I'm not sure if I understand what you meant by that.

SENIOR POLICE OFFICER

Whoever did this, didn't want the guy’s heart. They have something else on their agenda.

DAVE CHUCKLES.

DOUG

And what might this other agenda be?

SENIOR POLICE OFFICER

I don't know. It could be for revenge, hatred, there are many reasons why someone would get whacked.

DOUG

Suppose that you are correct in your assumption, then where would the heart be?

SENIOR POLICE OFFICER POINTS TO DAVE.

SENIOR POLICE OFFICER

It's right next to you.

DAVE AND DOUG TURN THEIR HEADS SLOWLY TO FIND THE SQUASHED HEART WITH DEBAUN’S SHOEPRINT IMPRINTED ON IT.

Doug nods as he looks up back up at the senior police officer.

doug

Nice work officer.

HE PATS DAVE ON THE SHOULDER AS HE STANDS UP AND LEAVES.

DETECTIVES

Dave hurries after Doug.

dave

So what now?

DOUG

We have a talk with the wife.

THE TWO DETECTIVES FLASH THEIR BADGE AT LIZ. DOUG TAKES OUT A NOTE PAD AND A PEN READY TO TAKE NOTES.

DOUG

Mrs. Smith?

LIZ

Yes?

DOUG

I'm Detective Goodwin, and this is my partner Detective Johnson, we would like to ask you a few questions regarding your husband. Is that all right with you?

LIZ HANDS THE BOY IN HER ARMS TO A FRIEND.

LIZ

Will you take him for a few minutes?

FRIEND

(Points to the play area)

Sure, we'll be over there.

LIZ TURNS HER HEAD AROUND TO THE DETECTIVES.

DAVE

Nice kids.

DOUG

Those boys are going to miss their daddy. I’m kind of surprised that they don’t show much grievance. I know my kids would be crying like crazy.

LIZ

Well, Charley's not their real father. They've been over this before when their real father died over a year ago. Besides, they don't really like Charley that much. Charley, how do I put it? Charley, he's very strict with the children.

DOUG

Sorry to hear that, but do you know or remember anyone, anyone at all who might have had a dispute or argument with your husband in the past few days?

LIZ SLOWLY SHAKES HER HEAD FROM SIDE TO SIDE.

LIZ

No, No, I never saw him argue with anyone before. Well maybe with his own father, but that's like a friendly dispute.

DOUG

How about any long-term enemies?

LIZ

No, there's no one I can remember that Charley didn't get along with, he's pretty much well liked by everyone. I can't imagine anyone would want to hurt him. Why would anyone want to do such a thing to Charley?

DAVE

That's what we're here to find out ma’am.

LIZ

No, I can't think of anyone. Who would hold any grudge again Charley.

DOUG GIVES LIZ A LITTLE NOD.

DOUG

Mrs. Smith, can you explain to me why was your husband outside?

LIZ

Yea sure, he was on the phone when it died on him. So he took his flashlight and went outside to see what happened to the phone line.

DAVE

Was there anything else strange that happened tonight?

LIZ

Well, our TV reception was just fine, but then it just stopped.

DOUG

Did this happen before or after the incident with the telephone?

LIZ

I think it was about the same time.

DOUG

What about people? Did you see anyone strange hanging around your house today or yesterday?

LIZ THINKS FOR A FEW SECONDS.

LIZ

Well, come to think of it, there was a strange man outside our house today. He was parked on the side of the street over there .

(POINTS TO STREET)

When Charley came back from the base. I think he was pounding on the steering wheel the last I saw. But when we noticed him, he drove away.

DOUG

Did you get a good look at him?

LIZ

I saw him.

DOUG

Do you remember what he looked like?

LIZ

Yes. He had short brown army cut hair. He wore sunglasses and a cap, and he was wearing a T-shirt. I think it was white. He looked kind of like my ex-husband, but that's impossible, my ex-husband has been dead for more then a year now.

DOUG

Did you notice any characteristic markings on him, like tattoos?

LIZ

None that I noticed.

DOUG NODS.

DOUG

Ok, do you remember what type of car he was driving?

LIZ

A jeep, I think it was dark green, but I can't be sure.

A POLICE OFFICER WALKS TOWARD DOUG AND DAVE. THE POLICE OFFICER CUTS IN, POINTING DOWN THE STREET.

POLICE OFFICER

Ahem, detectives? They found a man murdered couple houses down the street from here. They want you two to go over there and take a look.

POLICE OFFICER GIVES LIZ A RESPECTING NOD BEFORE STROLLING AWAY.

Doug turns to Liz.

DOUG

Thanks for your time ma'am

DOUG HANDS HER A BUSINESS CARD FROM HIS COAT POCKET.

DOUG

Please feel free to call me if you have any further information, or just need to talk about what happened.

DAVE NODS TO LIZ, THEN HURRIES AWAY AFTER DOUG. AFTER SEVERAL STEPS, DOUG TURNS AROUND.

DOUG

Oh, one more question Mrs. Smith, just out of curiosity, why did you stay in the house when your husband did not come back in after a long time? Didn't it occur to you to go outside looking for him?

LIZ

My ex-husband always told me and the children that if he wasn't back for a long time, I should lock myself and the kids in the house and under no circumstance should I go outside looking for him. He would always test me and the children on that. I guess with all the tests he gave, it became second nature.

DOUG

Well thank you again for your time, and again, I'm deeply sorry for your husband's death.

LIZ NODS. DOUG AND DAVE NOD BACK THEN TURN AROUND WALKING TOWARD THEIR PARKED CAR CONVERSING WITH EACH OTHER.

EXT. STREET-NIGHT

DeBaun wraps his arms around his stomach as he stumbles down a quiet street. A homeless man pushing a shopping cart walks toward him.

The homeless man grabs DeBaun's arm.

HOMeLESS MAN

Hey buddy, you don't look so good.

DEBAUN LIFTS UP HIS HEAD.

DEBAUN

I'm famished.

HOMELESS MAN

Whoa, a scholar, ok so you’re hungry? Well it's your lucky day cause I got a little extra food today.

DEBAUN

Thank you.

HOMELESS MAN

Hey, don't sweat it, we street dwellers got to stick together. Help each other out you know, you scratch my back I scratch your back. Stuff like that. Come on.

THE HOMELESS MAN LEADS DEBAUN AWAY.

EXT. dark isolated ALLEY-NIGHT

The homeless man leads DeBaun into a dark alley. They sit down near a cardboard box filled dumpster.

HOMELESS MAN

Well, here it is…how do you like it?

DEBAUN LOOKS AROUND NODDING HIS HEAD.

DEBAUN

Not bad, not bad. Dark, no one to disturb you. I like that.

HOMELESS MAN

That's the point, see the cops around here are always harassing us. Hey, you ain't a cop, are you?

DEBAUN SHAKES HIS HEAD.

HOMELESS MAN

Good, we hate cops around here, they are a bunch of overpaid, overfed shit heads.

THE HOMELESS MAN TAKES A LOAF OF STALE BREAD FROM HIS POCKET AND BREAKS IT IN HALF. HE HANDS THE SMALLER PIECE TO DEBAUN.

HOMELESS MAN

Here, take it.

DEBAUN LOOKS AT THE GROUND FOR A MOMENT, BLINKS. HIS EYES TURN INTO CAT EYES. HE TAKES THE BREAD AND TOSSES IT ON THE GROUND.

DEBAUN

I don’t need your bread.

THE HOMELESS MAN PICKS UP THE BREAD AND DUSTS THE DIRT OFF OF IT.

HOMELESS MAN

What the fuck! If you don't want it, at least give it back, you don't have to go fucking waste it, there are some of us who consider it to be very fulfilling.

DEBAUN GRABS THE HOMELESS MAN'S LOWER JAW TILTING HIS HEAD BACK.

debaun

Well, I don’t, but I think you have something that will be fulfilling for me.

THE HOMELESS MAN SCREAMS IN PAIN AS DEBAUN COVERS THE EXPOSED SIDE OF THE HOMELESS MAN'S NECK WITH HIS MOUTH.

SHRWWK, SHRWWK, DeBaun begins to gobble down blood. A small stream of blood seeps out from the corner of his mouth.

The homeless man struggles desperately under DeBaun's grip. DeBaun yanks the homeless man’s head back by the hair, then with a hard upward blow to his nose with the palm of his hand.

Blood covers the dead homeless man’s face.

EXT. ALLEY-DAY

Several cops are gathering evidence around the homeless man’s body leaning sluggishly against the wall.

Dave and Doug put on rubber gloves from their pockets as they walk toward the body. They are greeted by a chubby police officer.

POLICE OFFICER

Detectives. This way please.

THE POLICE OFFICER LEADS THE TWO DETECTIVES TOWARD THE BODY.

POLICE OFFICER

They found him this morning, we're having hell of a difficulty finding out the motive.

DAVE

That's what we're here to find out.

THE TWO DETECTIVES GAZE DOWN IN AT THE DEAD BODY.

DAVE

Damn, that's three in one night, one hell of a record.

DOUG

Sergeant I want you to go around this place and ask every homeless guy you can find if they know who our victim was with.

SGT

Yea sure, that's easy for you to say. The only way to get any answer around here is if you bribe them with food or money.

DOUG

Well, then do that!

SGT

I’m not made out of money.

DAVE

Don’t worry, you’ll get rein boosted.

THE SERGEANT NODS, THEN WALKS AWAY.

DETECTIVES

The detectives stroll toward their car.

DAVE

So, what do you think?

DOUG

I don't know. What about you?

DAVE THINKS FOR A FEW SECOND.

DAVE

I think we might be after something out of the ordinary.

DOUG STOPS FOR A MOMENT.

DOUG

What do you mean?

DAVE

You head of Chupacabras?

DOUG

No.

DAVE

Ok, it’s a creature that was believed to savagely mutilate animals in Latin America by gutting their organs out and drains their blood.

DOUG

Are you suggesting a monster?

DAVE

Yea, why not?

DOUG

Why not? Because that’s preposterous.

DAVE

Why is it preposterous, supernatural things are based somewhat on real life.

DOUG

Yea some are, but this ain’t.

DOUG UNLOCKS HIS CAR REMOTELY AS THEY APPROACH IT.

dave

Hey, there are people who drink blood to satisfy their obsession.

DOUG

You better fucking not put that in the report.

DAVE

Yea sure.

DAVE OPENS THE CAR DOOR.

dave

Are we leaving or not?

DOUG NODS. BOTH DETECTIVES CLIMB INTO THE CAR.

INT. WINDOWLESS CONFERENCE ROOM

A man in black suit, SUITED MAN ONE, in his forties sits across the rectangular table from another man in black suit, FBI DEPUTY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR O'DANIEL, in his early fifties.

Documents on DeBaun are neatly spread across the table in front of the deputy assistant director. Another man in black suit, SUITED MAN TWO, walks around the table to sit beside Suited Man One.

SUITED MAN ONE

This man is a treat to national security. He knows too much about our top secrete activities and we have reason to believe that he have highly sensitive information regarding national security in his possession and we have reasons to believe that he is selling it to hostile nations. Our sources reveal that recently he has obtained highly top-secret documents regarding national defense. He must be apprehended as soon as possible before these document are passed into the wrong hands.

O'DANIEL

So, why don't you set up a manhunt, you’re bound to catch him before he can spill his guts.

SUITED MAN TWO

No, we would like to keep this under wrap. Deputy Assistant Director O'Danial , it is our understanding that you are inline for another evaluation some time this year, am I correct?

O'DANIEL

Yes, that is correct, and I am hopping for a good evaluation, and possibly a promotion.

SUITED MAN TWO

Then let me be frank with you Mr. O'Daniel, if you can help us apprehend William DeBaun, I will personally guarantee you a very lucrative promotion. Do we have an agreement?

O'DANIEL

What kind of a promotion are we talking about?

SUITED MAN ONE

Director of FBI Head Quarter in Washington DC. Does that sound good enough for you?

O'DANIEL

What about the president?

SUITED MAN ONE

What about him?

O'DANIEL

In order for me to be promoted to the position of Director, the president must approve of it first, and I don't see how he’s going to promote me from deputy assistant director to the highest-ranking position in the FBI organization.

SUITED MAN ONE

Leave that to us, we will take care of that.

O'DANIEL

Then what's the catch?

SUITED MAN TWO

No catch, just bring us DeBaun. Everything else afterwards is an easy breather.

O'DANIAL THINKS FOR A FEW SECONDS.

O'DANIEL

All right, sounds fair enough. You just keep your end of the bargain.

SUITED MAN TWO

Good, you are authorized to use any means necessary to meet your objectives. We do not care how you do it, just get the job done.

INT. POLICE STATION-DAY

Dave sits at his desk filling out forms as Doug walks up to his messy desk.

DOUG

I don't know what you did, but we're in the lion's din again, the boss wants to see us in his office.

(TAPS THE TABLE)

Right now.

DOUG GIVES DAVE THE BAD SIGN LOOK.

DAVE

Us? What the hell did we do?

DOUG

I don't know, I thought you might enlighten me on that, but obviously I'm wasting my times because you don't have the slightest clue either.

DAVE GETS OUT OF HIS CHAIR, HEADING FOR THE POLICE CHIEF'S OFFICE WITH DOUG.

EXT. POLICE CHIEF'S OFFICE

The police chief in his leather chair are chatting with two black suited men sitting in two of the four chairs in front of his desk. One of the men is O'Daniel

Through the large window, Dave and Doug walk up to the door, and knocks as they barge in.

INT. POLICE CHIEF'S OFFICE

Nicely furnished office full of picture of the police chief with famous people and many rewards mounted on the wall. The police chief looks up as Dave and Doug barge in.

POLICE CHIEF

Come on in boys. Never mind, just help yourself. Please sit down, we have things to talk about, very important things.

BOTH DETECTIVES TAKE THEIR SEATS IN FRONT OF THE POLICE CHIEF'S DESK. THE POLICE CHIEF GLANCES AT THE TWO SUITED MEN THEN AT THE DETECTIVES.

POLICE CHIEF

Well, boys, these here gentlemen are from the FBI, they have arranged for one of their own field agents to be an active participant in your case.

DOUG

But sir, we work much better if it was just the two of us, plus it is not in their jurisdiction. Can't you just tell them to beat it?

POLICE CHIEF

No, I'm afraid I can't do that. For one, I feel it is wise to have an expert onboard, if nothing else, to teach you two how to properly handle and execute a case, and two they have reason to believe that the suspect, the man you two are after is in fact William DeBaun a man linked with a series of other murders nationwide, therefore they have full authority and legislative right to participate in this investigation. Sorry boys, but meet your new partner, Special Agent Brian Nelson.

THE OTHER AGENT, IN HIS LATE TWENTIES, STANDS UP AND EXTENDS HIS HAND OUT TO.

NELSON

Brain Nelson, looking forward to work with you.

DOUG SHAKES BRAIN'S HAND.

DOUG

I'm Doug Goodwin, and I'm in charge.

DOUG WAVES TO DAVE

DOUG

And this is my partner David M. Johnson.

DAVE TURNS TO O'DANIEL.

DAVE

Who's he?

POLICE CHIEF

This man is the second most powerful man in Chicago, FBI Deputy Assistant Director Sean O'Daniel.

INT. POLICE STATION-DAY

The two detectives walk past several office desks with Agent Nelson following behind them.

DOUG

You got any idea what this guy's pattern is? Because it just doesn't add up, first the Air Force Major, then a schoolteacher, and finally some street bum, there's no trend, anyone could be next, it's like he kills whenever he feels like it.

AGENT NELSON

No, sorry.

INT. BANK-DAY

DeBaun walks into the bank. He looks around scanning the room before stepping in line behind the only other person in line waiting to be served by the a bank tellers.

A bank teller frees up, the customer in front of DeBaun walks over to the bank teller.

The woman being served by the bank teller in the middle packs up her purse and leaves, DeBaun walks up to the counter

BANK TELLER

How can I help you today, sir?

DEBAUN

I need to withdraw five hundred-dollars from my checking account.

THE BANK TELLER TYPES INTO THE COMPUTER BESIDE HER.

BANK TELLER

Ok, insert your card through there.

DEBAUN PAUSES FOR A SECOND.

DEBAUN

Uhm, I don't have my card with me.

BANK TELLER

Ok, then if you'll just show me some form of identification with your photo on it, we can proceed from there.

DEBAUN

I don't have any IDs on me either. They're in my wallet and I don't have my wallet here with me.

BANK TELLER

Well then, I'm sorry sir, but I can't withdraw any amount of money for you. We do need a proof of identification for security reasons, I do hope you understand.

BANK TELLER TURNS HER HEAD TO NEXT CUSTOMER IN LINE.

BANK TELLER

Sir, I can help you here.

WHAMP, DEBAUN SMACK THE PALM OF HIS HAND ON THE COUNTER STARTLING EVERYONE. HE LOOKS THE BANK TELLER STRAIGHT IN THE EYES. HIS EYES TRANSFORM INTO ITS FRIGHTFUL APPEARANCE.

DEBAUN

(Deep voice)

You will give me one hundred thousand dollars now! Or I will kill you.

THE SCARED BANK TELLER SLOWLY REACHES UNDER THE COUNTER.

Without warning, the alarm goes off. Metal cages slams down sealing off the bank as well as the bank teller booth. He looks at the thick metal bars isolating him from the bank teller.

The customers and Agents not isolated from DeBaun quickly duck under tables or hit the floor for cover.

DEBAUN

So you think these bars will keep you safe?

DEBAUN DEFORMS THE BARS WITH HIS BARE HANDS TO CREATE A LARGE GAP BETWEEN HIM AND THE BANK TELLER.

debaun

Now, the money.

THE BANK TELLER QUICKLY GETS DEBAUN HIS MONEY. A POLICE CAR PULLS UP IN FRONT OF THE BANK. THE POLICE OFFICER DRAWS HIS PISTOL AND TAKES COVER BEHIND HIS CAR DOOR.

DeBaun shoves the cash into his pocket. He walks to the exit, tears the metal cage down, tosses it on the floor and confidently strolls out of the bank.

Ext. bank

As DeBaun walks out of the bank, a motorcycle police pulls up beside the police car. The motorcycle police draw his sidearm as he gets off his bike.

police officer

Hold it right there! Put your hands up slowly were we can see them! You’re under arrest for armed robbery.

DEBAUN REACHES BACK INTO THE BANK. THE POLICE OFFICERS FIRE SEVERAL SHOTS AT DEBAUN, HITTING HIM ONLY THREE TIMES.

DeBaun’s hand reemerges from inside the back with a metal bar. He hurtles it at the police officer behind the police car. Then quickly side steps back into the bank.

The metal bar pierces through the driver door window of the police car and into the police officer splattering blood on the shattered window and on the patrol car door.

motorcycle police

Oh shit!

THE MOTORCYCLE POLICE CROUCHES DOWN LOWER BEHIND HIS BIKE.

DeBaun walks out concealing something in his hands behind him. The motorcycle police empty his gun into DeBaun.

WHOSH, DeBaun hurtles a fireman’s axe at the motorcycle police. The axe chops off the top one fifth of the police officer’s head.

The officer goes into a spasm for a few seconds before falling backward onto the floor.

debaun

(Disappointed)

Damn, too high.

DEBAUN WALKS TO THE MOTORCYCLE, BRUSHES OFF THE DROPS OF BLOOD ON THE MOTORCYCLE SEAT BEFORE SITTING DOWN ON THE BIKE AND RIDES OFF.

INT. POLICE STATION-NOON

Dave and Doug walk up to Agent Nelson's neatly arranged temporary desk where he is reading case reports on the three homicides.

DAVE

Hey, we're going out for lunch, you want to join us?

AGENT NELSON LOOKS UP WITH A MILLION DOLLAR SMILE SHAKING HIS HEAD.

AGENT NELSON

No, I've got to go take care of something, maybe tomorrow.

DOUG

All right then, see you later.

AGENT NELSON

Yea, see you later.

AGENT NELSON GOES BACK TO THE REPORTS. BOTH DETECTIVES LEAVES.

INT. AGENT NELSON'S CAR IN POLICE GARAGE

Agent Nelson is talking on his cellular phone as he drives.

AGENT NELSON

No sir, they don’t have a clue.

(BEAT)

Yes sir, I understand.

(BEAT)

Yes sir.

DEBAUN FOLLOWS A POLICE OFFICER WALKING TO HIS CAR.

AGENT NELSON

Yes sir, I'll take care of it...

INT. POLICE STATION-LATE AFTERNOON

Doug sits behind his desk reading over case files as Dave walks toward him with a large envelope in hand. He tosses it on Doug's desk. Doug looks up at Dave.

DAVE

The lab report just came in.

DOUG

Did we find who our John Doe is?

DAVE

Yes, it's a positive match.

DOUG

That's great, let's go get a warrant out on this guy, and bang, we make the arrest, put him on trial, and walla, end of case, and bye-bye Mr. Pain in the ass special agent.

DAVE

I wouldn't celebrate just yet, there's a problem.

DOUG

A problem? What kind of a problem is it?

DAVE

Those that you don’t get too often. This guy's been dead for over a year.

DOUG

Are you positive? But how is that possible, his fingerprint was all over those victims.

DAVE

Yea.

DOUG OPENS THE ENVELOPE. HE TAKES OUT THE PICTURE OF DEBAUN AND HIS BIOS.

FACT SHEET

Doug reads out loud.

DOUG

William Lauren DeBaun, age thirty four, height five eleven inches, weight one ninety eight, Army special forces, rank Captain, death February twenty first, two thousand and one, cause of death.

(BEAT, SURPRISED)

Ebola?

DAVE

Some serious stuff.

DOU NODS. HE MUMBLES AS HE READS ON.

DOUG

Look at this. You remember Mrs. Smith don't you?

DAVE

Yea.

DOUG

Well, this guy actually owns the house she’s in. And check this out, Mrs. Smith was legally married to this guy.

DAVE

You think the killings might be for revenge?

DOUG

Could be, assuming he faked his own death for some odd reason.

DAVE

Pretty hard to fake a death by Ebola.

DOUG

He's special force, those guys can do almost anything.

(BEAT)

He must of have been pretty pissed off when he found out that his wife remarried to someone else.

DAVE

I'd be pretty pissed too, but how the hell does the other two fit in?

DOUG

I don't know.

DOUG LOOKS UP AT DAVE

DOUG

You sure these are accurate?

DAVE

There's only one way to find out for sure.

DOUG PUT THE FACT SHEET BACK INTO THE ENVELOPE, PLACING IT INTO HIS TOP DRAWER AND LOCKS IT BEFORE LEAVING HIS WORK AREA WITH DAVE.

INT. RESTUARANT-NIGHT

A birthday party for an elderly man is in progress with the entire family singing happy birthday. Two busboys stroll around the table refilling glasses.

A waiter hurries toward the kitchen carrying an empty tray. He pushes through the double swing door into the kitchen.

INT. KITCHEN

The chefs are busy preparing food, while the dishwasher boy, a teenager, is busy loading dirty dishes into the dishwasher.

WAITER

Man, they're breathing down my neck out there, can't you guys speed it up or something?

THE WAITER FOCUS HIS GAZE AT A CHEF

WAITER

Hey Kirk, how much longer does table six have to wait? They're pretty much ready to leave right now.

A CHEF/KIRK LIFTS UP HIS HEAD.

KURK

You tell them to wait just five more minutes, Ok? And ah, tell those rich pigs out there that if they want their food to be cooked right, they better shut the hell up and wait.

WAITER

Yea sure, and blow off my tip? In your dreams man.

THE WAITER TURNS AROUND, HURRYING OUT OF THE KITCHEN.

A few seconds later a chef leaves his workstation with a hand full of pealed cabbage skin to the garbage. The chef, CHEF ONE, tosses the cabbage skins into the full garbage can, then turns to the dishwasher boy.

CHEF ONE

Hey boy, take this shit out, will yea?

CHEF ONE RETURNS TO HIS WORKSTATION AS THE DISHWASHER BOY LOADS THE DISH IN HIS HAND INTO THE DISHWASHER. HE DRIES HIS HANDS WITH A TOWEL AND WALKS SLUGGISHLY TO THE GARBAGE CAN.

DISHWASHER BOY

He ties the garbage bag, then lifts it out of the garbage can setting it aside. He takes a new garbage bag from the top drawer of the cabinet beside him and put it onto the garbage can.

The dishwasher boy carries the full garbage bag toward the backdoor.

EXT. BACK OF RESTUARANT-CLOUDY NIGHT

The teenager barge out of the backdoor carrying the large garbage bag. He stumbles toward the dumpster pin.

A gush of wind slams the backdoor shut.

STALKER POV

DISHWASHER BOY

(Imitating Chef One)

Take out the garbage boy, do this boy, do that boy

(NORMAL VOICE)

Well at least I'm going to finish High School. What about you Chef Omire? What was the highest grade you ever passed without failing? What? Third grade? And what was that, you barely passed?

THE DISHWASHER BOY WALKS INTO THE DUMPSTER PIN.

Stalker POV huffs and puffs like an animal as it advances slowly up to the teenager who is lifting up the lid of the dumpster with his thumb.

DISHWASHER BOY

The dishwasher boy lets go of the lid as he spins around breathing hard anticipating someone behind him. He scans his surroundings nervously.

STALKER POV

The dishwasher boy turns back around lifting the lid of the dumpster and tosses the garbage bag into the dumpster. He looks up at the sky, takes a deep breath, and then turns around heading back toward the restaurant.

DISHWASHER BOY

The dishwasher boy stretches himself outside of the dumpster pin.

He strolls back toward the restaurant with his hands in his pocket.

A growling shadow leaps out from the bushes beside the dumpster knocking the dishwasher boy to the ground.

DeBaun jerks the screaming dishwasher boy's head to one side by the hair as he covers the boy's mouth with his other hand. He licks the struggling boy's neck, then he sticks out his tongue placing the tip against the exposed vein on the side of his neck.

SHRWWWK, SHRWWWK, the boy's eyes widen as he gages in a mouthful of blood while punching and kicking DeBaun with all his might.

Blood gushes out from the puncture wound as DeBaun draws his tongue back, then presses his lips tightly around the bleeding hole sucking the blood and life out of the dishwasher boy.

The dishwasher boy's struggle weakens as his eyes begin to wonder, then stares straight ahead as he take his last long breath.

DEBAUN

DeBaun sucks for few more seconds, then he drags the boy to the dumpster, lifts the lid and tosses him inside the dumpster leaving only part of a hand sticking out.

EXT. GRAVEYARD-NIGHT

Dave and Doug are standing around an open grave watching two gravediggers easily haul a casket out from the ground.

GRAVEDIGGER ONE

Holly shit, this casket is light.

GRAVEDIGGER TWO PRIES OPEN THE CASKET, REVEALING AN EMPTY CASKET. DOUG TURNS TO DAVE.

DOUG

Logical explanation, the guy's not dead.

INT. KITCHEN-NIGHT

The chefs are working

CHEF ONE

The chef beside chef one, CHEF TWO, lift his head up and looks around. He elbows chief one on the side.

CHEF TWO

Hey, wonder where that damn kid ran off to?

CHEF ONE

Probably out there jerking it behind the dumpster. That's why I keep on telling them over and over again not to hire any damn kids. All those kids do is screwing everything up.

CHEF ACROSS CHEF ONE

Yea you said it, I had to go and load all those dishes in the washer five minutes ago. God damn it, I'm not fucking paid to wash dishes, I'm a fucking chief, I cook.

EXT. QUIET STREET-NIGHT

DeBaun halts a taxicab. He gets into the back of the cab.

Int. apartment bedroom

In the dark room, a panting woman is in bed bouncing on top of a man.

COUPLE

The man, Dave, reaches up cupping his hands around the woman’s tender, round breasts.

He lifts his head up, pressing his lips tightly around her perking nipple while playing with her other nipple in between his fingers.

His mouth pulls back, his thumb brushes over the hard nipple.

Dave spins the woman around onto her back. He looks down at her, she giggles. Dave slowly thrusts on top of her. The woman moans gently as she tries to arch her back.

They turn around, the woman sits up, and she feels for the bottle of champagne on the nightstand, picks it up and pours all over her chest.

She pulls him up. Dave hungrily licks the champagne on her chest.

woman

(Giggles)

Slow down, I want this to last all night.

DAVE LOOKS UP AT HER.

Dave

Oh it will.

HE RESUMES HIS ACT.

The woman pushes Dave’s head back; she strokes her fingers through his moist hair, than presses her lips onto his, kissing him passionately.

She rigorously bounces up and down on top of Dave’s hip.

woman

Ah! Oh God! Oh! Oh! OHHH!

SHE SCREAMS AS SHE REACHES ORGASM, SOON FOLLOWED BY DAVE GASPING FOR AIR AS HE UNLOADS HIS LOAD.

Dave

Oh yea! AHHH! AHHHH! Oh! Oh!

THEY SEPARATES, LAY DOWN ON THE BED SIDE-BY-SIDE LOOKING UP AT THE CEILING.

woman

Dave?

DAVE

Yes?

WOMAN

Do you love me?

DAVE

Off course I do. You mean the whole world to me.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE.

woman

Do you want to do it again?

DAVE

(Excited)

Yea.

DAVE GETS ON TOP OF THE WOMAN. HE SLOWLY LOWERS HIMSELF DOWN BETWEEN HER PARTED LEGS.

He begins to thrust slowly, the woman moans silently with every thrust from Dave.

An old man’s voice

(Startling the young couple)

You young folks always amaze me with your abundance of energy when it comes to sex and a lack of energy when you are in church.

DAVE PICKS UP HIS PISTOL ON THE NIGHTSTAND, TURNS ON THE LIGHT AND POINTS AT AN OLD PRIEST SITTING IN A CHAIR AT THE CORNER OF THE ROOM. THE WOMAN COVERS HER BREASTS WITH THE BED SHEET.

woman

Oh God. Who is that?

DAVE

Who the hell are you?

THE PRIEST STANDS UP HEADING TOWARD THE BED.

priest

Allow me to introduce myself.

DAVE

Hey! Stay where you are!

PRIEST

Do not be alarmed young man. I come to help.

DAVE

How’d you get in here?

PRIEST

Oh I have my ways, but that’s not important. I came here because you need my help.

EXT. RESTUARANT DUMPSTER-NIGHT

A chef carries a bag of garbage over his shoulder toward the dumpster.

CHEF

Damn kid, runs off leaving the damn garbage for me to do. I got better things to do then this crap.

THE CHEF DROPS THE GARBAGE BAG, SCATTERING ITS CONTENT ALL OVER THE GROUND AS HE NOTICE A HAND STICKING OUT OF THE DUMPSTER.

He climbs up the side of the dumpster and lifts the lid.

int. DUMPSTER

The body of the dishwasher boy with his neck covered in semi dry blood is on top of the garbage bags.

CHEF

CHEF

Jesus, Mary, mother of god.

AS THE CHEF GETS DOWN FROM THE DUMPSTER, HE LOSSES BALANCE AND FALL ON TO THE FLOOR. THE CHEF GETS UP AND TURNS HEAD AND TAILS RUNNING BACK TOWARD THE RESTAURANT YELLING.

CHEF

Call an ambulance, the fucking kid fainted or something. Fuck he's hurt real bad!

INT. APARTMENT BEDROOM

The priest is sitting in a chair across from Dave who sits on his bed. The woman is gone.

Priest

So as a way of punishing the people, God made the most wicked of them all into what you and I would normally call a vampire, but all the stories about vampires are fictitious, that is only a minuet amount of facts in those stories are true. So in that respect, they are not true vampires, they are like a cross bread between a demon and a vampire.

DAVE

I don’t really follow what you are trying to tell me.

PRIEST

Let me try this again. You’re assumption was right, you are dealing with a un-natural creature.

DAVE

How did you know that?

PRIEST

Oh, I have my sources. Let’s just leave it at that. Now this thing is not like the vampires you would see in films. In reality, vampires like the one you are after are merely humans exposed to a very rare virus that shows up every couple thousand years. This virus is what we in the biblical profession calls God wrath. Theologians theorized that God does not like to directly demonstrate his power, but likes to do it indirectly, through something else, a medium if you will.

DAVE

You expect me to believe that shit? That’s crazier then my theory.

THE PHONE RINGS, DAVE PICKS IT UP.

dave

Dave here.

(BEAT, ENERGIZED)

I’ll be right there.

DAVE HANGS UP THE PHONE.

priest

Another one?

DAVE

(Surprised)

Yea. Now please leave.

EXT. BACK OF RESTUARANT-NIGHT

Several police officers are holding back a curious crowd. Parked police cars separate the onlookers from the dishwasher boy's body lying on the floor beside the dumpster pin. Other police officers are sealing the crime scene with tape.

A distance from the dumpster are Dave and Agent Nelson, both wearing rubber gloves questioning a chef.

POLICE CARs

Doug drives pass the curious crowd, parks his car among the other police cars, then steps out.

CHEF JOEY

CHEF JOEY

When I saw the kid in that dumpster, I ran back as fast as I fucking can and I called for somebody to call nine-one-one.

DAVE LOOKS PAST CHEF JOEY AS HE CATCHES SIGHT OF DOUG APPROACHING THE DISHWASHER BOY'S BODY. HE TURNS TO AGENT NELSON.

DAVE

Hey, you finish up here, I'm going to go give Doug a low down of the situation.

DAVE

Dave rush toward Doug.

DOUG

Dave rushes up to him, turns around walking along side of him.

DAVE

Hey Doug, I heard about the prom thing. Hey look, why don't you give the kid a break, I mean it's her last year in high school, let her enjoy it.

DOUG

You got four hundred and twenty some bucks to dish out?

DAVE TIGHTENS HIS FACE.

DAVE

Oh, that much aye? Well, just tell her to get something cheaper then. Well anyway, we found the fourth victim.

DOUG

Was it same as the other three?

DAVE SWALLOWS.

DAVE

Yea, exactly the same. You know, this case is getting me real nervous.

DOUG

How so?

DAVE

Well a priest broke into my apartment and set there and watched while I was having sex.

(SARCASTIC)

Then tells me that we are dealing with a thing created by a divine force, and then he went on saying something about it being God’s revenge or wrath, whichever.

(BEAT)

You want my opinion? I think we should just bail on this one.

DOUG

Would you want one of your girlfriends killed by this guy?

DAVE

Of course not. Expect for a few.

DOUG

Then we have to stop him.

(BEAT)

Did anyone see it happen?

DAVE

No one so far.

DOUG AND DAVE ARRIVE AT THE DISHWASHER BOY'S BODY. DOUG PULLS OUT A RUBBER GLOVES FROM HIS POCKET, PUTS IT ON AND KNEELS DOWN EXAMINING THE TEENAGER'S PUNCTURE WOUND.

DOUG

See any resemblance with the other three?

DAVE

Yea, same puncture marks. But I said that already.

DOUG

Yes, but see how it's always a vital artery that's punctured?

HE SQUINTS HIS EYES, STARING AT THE VICTIM’S FINGER.

doug

What’s this?

DOUG PICKS UP THE VICTIM’S HAND, LOOKS AT THE BLOODSTAIN UNDER THE FINGERNAILS. HE TAKES SAMPLES OF THE BLOODSTAIN WITH A COTTON SWAB FROM HIS COAT POCKET THEN DROPS IT IN A PLASTIC BAG. HE SEALS THE BAG BEFORE PUTTING IT BACK IN HIS COAT POCKET.

Agent Nelson walks over holding a wallet. He crouches down beside the other two detectives.

AGENT NELSON

They found this over in the parking lot. It might be the kid's.

DOUG TAKES THE WALLET AND FLIPS THROUGH IT. PULL OUT A DRIVER’S LICENSE WITH AND TEENAGER’S PHOTO AND THE NAME TIMOTHY SOWA ON IT.

DOUG

Empty.

AGENT NELSON

Well, that explains it, the kid was robbed.

DOUG LOOKS AT AGENT NELSON WHO IS READY TO LEAVE.

DOUG

What about the fact that he's drained of blood?

AGENT NELSON

Some deranged thief.

DOUG

Yea?

CROWD

A couple in their forties and two teenage girls squeezes their way through the crowd. They duck under the crime scene tape toward the teenager’s body.

A police officer tries to stop them.

POLICE OFFICER

Sir, you cannot cross this line, this is a restricted area.

MAN

Don't you dare tell me where I can and cannot go, my son was murdered here tonight, and I have very God given right to be here!

THE POLICE OFFICER BACKS OFF LETTING THE FAMILY THROUGH. THE FAMILY STORMS TOWARD THE TWO DETECTIVES AND AGENT NELSON CONVERSING BESIDE THE DISHWASHER BOY'S CORPSE. THE NEWS TEAM CAMERAS FOCUS ON THE FAMILY.

DETECTIVES AND AGENT NELSON

AGENT NELSON

Why would he go after a boy if he were also after the money? It just doesn't make sense, the kid had barely anything, definitely no more then twenty dollars on him.

DOUG STANDS UP, TURNS TO THE FAMILY AS THEY STORM UP TO HIM. THE DETECTIVES AND AGENT NELSON STANDS UP FACING THE ENRAGED FATHER STANDING IN FRONT OF THE WEEPING MOTHER AND SISTERS.

DOUG

Mr. Sowa?

MAN/MR. SOWA

Yea, that's me,

(POINTS TO HIMSELF)

Have you damn cops found who killed my son yet?

MR. SOWA LOOKS DOWN AT HIS SON'S BODY, THEN BACK AT THE DETECTIVES.

MR. SOWA

I what to know who did this to my son, you hear me?

MR. SOWA BREAKS DOWN IN TEARS. HIS FAMILY COMFORTS HIM AS DOUG HANDS THE TEENAGER'S WALLET TO MR. SOWA.

DOUG

We don't know yet sir, but is this your son's wallet?

MR. SOWA SNAPS THE WALLET FROM DOUG'S HAND.

MR. SOWA

Let me see that. Empty, you fucking cops are nothing but petty theirs.

MR. SOWA LAUNCHES AT DOUG, A POLICE OFFICER HOLDS MR. SOWA BACK.

DOUG

Look sir, we didn't steal anything from your son's wallet. We found it in the parking lot. We think he might have resisted an robbery. I'm truly sorry for your lose.

MR. SOWA

Your sorry, you don't know what it's like to loose your only son. Damn you cops, where the fuck were you when my kid was in trouble? Huh? Answer me that God damn it.

MRS. SOWA LOOKS AROUND NERVOUSLY.

MR. SOWA

Why the fuck do we keep you lazy bums around off our tax money if you can't even do your damn job? I'll tell you why there wasn't any cop around when my son was murdered. Its because all the freaking cops in this town are in the fucking doughnut shops sitting on their lazy behinds stuffing themselves away with sweats, that's why.

MR. SOWA'S WIFE PUTS HER HAND ON MR. SOWA'S SHOULDER AS HE LOOKS AROUND NERVOUSLY.

MRS. SOWA

Honey, it's not their fault.

HE SHRUGS HIS WIFE’S HAND OFF HIS SHOULDER.

MR. SOWA

Stay out of it Kirsten, its all their fucking fault.

HE LOOKS DOWN AT THE GROUND TRYING TO CONTROL HIS RAGE.

AGENT NELSON

Mr. Sowa I assure you, we will bring whoever is responsible for your son's death to justice.

MR. SOWA

Well you just make sure you do that.

DAVE HURRIES AWAY. DOUG TURNS TO MR. SOWA AND HANDS HIM HIS BUSINESS CARD TAKEN FROM HIS POCKET.

DOUG

I'm really sorry for your lose. Give me a call if you can think of anyone who might have wanted to murder your son.

MR. SOWA TAKES THE BUSINESS CARD FROM DOUG'S HAND.

DOUG

Thank you for your time.

THE SOWAS LEAVES THE SCENE IN GRIEVANCE.

The chef that ordered Timmy out with the garbage strolls over to Mr. Sowa and says something to him.

Mr. Sowa yells something back, than all hell breaks loose as chef one says something else back slightly agitated. Mr. Sowa attacks the chef, knocking him to the ground, punching him in the face repeatedly in front of his shocked family.

Mr. Sowa

You bastard! You fucking bastard!

DOUG AND TWO POLICE OFFICERS RUSH TOWARD THE TWO FIGHTING MEN.

The two police officers reach the fighting men before Doug, and pull them apart.

police officer

(Restraining Mr. Sowa)

Ok that’s enough! That’s enough man! Cool it!

INT. AGENT NELSON'S CAR ON HIGHWAY-NIGHT

Agent Nelson dials his cellular phone.

AGENT NELSON

Sir? This is Nelson. We just had another one.

(BEAT)

Yea, a sixteen-year-old boy. Uhm. Timothy Sowa.

(BEAT)

No sir.

INT. O'DANIEL'S LUXURIOUS LIVING ROOM-NIGHT

O'Daniel paces back and forth behind his leather sofa talking on his portable phone.

O'DANIEL

Agent Nelson, I want you to make them believe that DeBaun is alive and part of an underground Satanic Cult, and that's why he drain his victim of their blood. Do you understand?

INT. AGENT NELSON'S CAR

AGENT NELSON

Yes sir, I understand you sir, but they won't believe me unless I have hard evidence to show them.

INT. O'DANIEL'S LIVING ROOM

O'DANIEL

That's wont be a problem. You'll get your hard evidences two days from now. Keep up the good work Nelson.

O'DANIEL TURNS OFF HIS PHONE STROLLING TOWARD HIS MINI-BAR.

INT. AGENT NELSON'S CAR

AGENT NELSON

Thank you sir?

AGENT NELSON SHRUGS TO LOOSEN HIS SHOULDER, SHUTS OFF HIS CELLULAR PHONE, TOSSING IT ONTO THE EMPTY PASSENGER SEAT.

Int. hotel lobby

DeBaun stands patiently at the receptionist counter. The receptionist types several commands into his computer.

RECEPTIONIST

(Smiles)

It’ll be just a few more minutes, our computer is a little slow today.

THE PRINTER PRINTS OUT THE RECEIPT. THE RECEPTIONIST TEARS THE RECEIPT OFF THE PRINTER GIVING HIMSELF A DEEP PAPER CUT ON HIS INDEX FINGER. DEBAUN LOOKS ASIDE AVOID LOOKING AT THE RECEPTIONIST'S CUT AS THE RECEPTIONIST HANDS HIM HIS RECEIPT AND MAGNETIC CARD.

DEBAUN

Sorry, I can't stand blood, but thank you for all your help.

RECEPTIONIST

Don't worry about it, I understand.

DEBAUN HURRIES AWAY TOWARD THE ELEVATORS AS THE RECEPTIONIST PLACES A BAND-AID OVER THE CUT.

INT. DOUG'S CAR-DAY

Agent Nelson's cell phone rings.

AGENT NELSON

Nelson here.

A FEW SECONDS AS AGENT NELSON LISTEN TO HIS PHONE.

AGENT NELSON

He was there? When?

(BEAT)

Ok, thanks.

AGENT NELSON PUTS HIS CELLULAR PHONE AWAY.

AGENT NELSON

Guys, DeBaun rented a room at Fredrick Inn on Fifty-first Street and Main last night. If we are lucky we might catch him there.

DAVE TURNS ON THE PORTABLE POLICE LIGHT IN THE CAR AS DOUG MAKES A SHARP U-TURN THROUGH THE MEDIUM CAUSING SEVERAL CARS TO SCREECH TO A STOP HONKING THEIR HORNS.

AGENT NELSON

Fuck, with your driving we’d be trying to solve this case in a morgue.

DAVE

He hasn't killed me yet, and it's been three years now.

INT. FREDERICK INN HALLWAY

Agent Nelson and Dave are against the wall adjacent to the door to DeBaun's room. Doug stands in front of the door. Agent Nelson carefully inserts the magnetic key card, CLICK, the light on the lock changes from red to green.

Dave slowly turns the door hand until a CLICK. He opens the door slightly. Doug rushes up to door, kicks it open and leads Agent Nelson and Dave into the room.

INT. HOTEL ROOM

The two detectives and Agent Nelson stand side by side in front of the door with their sidearm ready scanning the room, then cautiously advances through the room.

AGENT NELSON

As the two detectives check the room, Agent Nelson press against the wall beside the bathroom door, tabs it open with his foot, and steps in to the bathroom with his pistol ready.

Both detectives relax their guard in the middle of the room.

Agent Nelson sweeps the room with his eyes, walks out of the bathroom putting his gun away looking around as he strolls the room.

Dave kicks the chair in frustration.

DAVE

Damn it. He’s gone.

EXT. STREET-DAY

DeBaun walks down the busy sidewalk. A Red Cross blood-drive truck drives past. DeBaun’s eyes follow the truck down the street where it makes a turn.

He licks his teeth, eyes change for a brief moment a he blinks, turns around marching down the street in the direction of the Red Cross truck.

Int. monistary

The priest sits in front of his desk flipping through an old book. Dave stands beside him, not particularly interested. The priest finds the page.

priest

Uhm, here it is. Now let’s see.

(SKIMS THE PAGES)

In order to kill the feign, you must cut off it’s head.

DAVE

What about silver bullets or stakes?

PRIEST

No, those do not work. Only beheading.

THE PRIEST GETS OUT OF HIS SEAT.

priest

Follow me, I have something for you.

DAVE FOLLOWS THE PRIEST OUT OF THE ROOM.

HALLWAY

The priest leads Dave to an old wooden door. He opens the door for Dave.

priest

Please, after you.

DAVE BOLDLY ENTERS THE ROOM.

INT. ROOM

The priest closes the door behind him. He walks over to the side of the bookshelf, pull with all his might.

The bookshelf swings open like a door revealing a tunnel. The priest flips the switch at the entrance, turning on a roll of florescent light leading down the tunnel. He waves for Dave to follow him.

Dave follows the priest into the tunnel.

INT. TUNNEL

All along the wall are preserved bodies of warriors suited in armor contained in plastic encasements.

At the end of the short tunnel is an Japanese Samurai sword set on a stone table.

The priest takes the sword from its stand and hands it to Dave.

priest

For you.

DAVE

(Take sword)

Thanks, but why me? Aren’t you suppose to give this to a samurai to use?

PRIEST

Of course, you are the samurai. We know about your training in Ninjasu.

(BEAT, DAVE SURPRISED)

Guard this with your life; this is a sacred sword that has been with the sacred order of the wondering knights.

DAVE

(Laughs)

Sacred order of the wondering knights? Ha. Nice name.

PRIEST

Don’t be fooled by the name, it is a very elite order in the Catholic Church, we are the ones responsible for purging the world of demons and feigns. This sword has killed half a thousand-cursed souls, it was a gift to the order.

DAVE

A sacred sword from Japan? I though they were into emperor worshipping?

PRIEST

Yes, that may be true, but the first known case of demons appeared in Asia, and despite their pagan beliefs, God did bless this samurai sword for the sole purpose of slaying the cursed souls. We do not know the original owner of this sword for it has been passed down the generation to the worthiest samurai. And now, I pass this sword on to you.

DAVE

I don’t want it.

PRIEST

But you must have it, you have an inner strength that lay dormant most of the time, but when it is unlocked, may God have mercy on your enemies. Now go my child and make this world safe again, you have my blessing.

INT. DAVE'S CAR-NIGHT

Dave is driving through the highway conversing on his cellular phone.

DAVE

I'm on Wilson right now, I’ll be there in a few minutes.

(BEAT)

I’m going to wait for you by the elevator, you just make sure you get there on time.

INT. DIFFERENT HOTEL ROOM-NIGHT

DeBaun is stretched out on the bed. KNOCK, KNOCK.

DEBAUN

Yes?

WOMAN'S VOICE

Hotel Service. I got the razor you called for.

DEBAUN SITS UP IN BED.

DEBAUN

Give me a sec. I'll be right over.

DEBAUN GETS UP FROM BED HURRYING TO THE DOOR. HE OPENS THE DOOR. A YOUNG BRUNETTE HANDS HIM A RAZOR.

CLEANING WOMAN

Here you go sir.

DEBAUN STARES INTO THE CLEANING WOMAN'S EYES.

cleaning woman

Yes?

DEBAUN

You got the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen.

CLEANING WOMAN BLUSHES.

CLEANING WOMAN

Why thank you for that complement senor.

DEBAUN

Why don't you come in here and we can, I don’t know, chat a little?

CLEANING WOMAN

No sir, I am working right now.

DEBAUN PULLS OUT A HUNDRED-DOLLAR BILL STUFFING IT IN HER HAND.

DEBAUN

Oh, how about you come in here and work a little for me? I'm giving you a very generous pay.

CLEANING WOMAN

(Repulsed)

No! Who do you take me as?

DEBAUN HOLDS UP HIS HAND.

DEBAUN

That’s not what I meant. What I meant with the money is that I hire you for a few minutes so that we can talk, get to know each other. I sure didn’t mean what you thought I meant. So what do you say? Can we chat?

THE CLEANING WOMAN THINKS FOR A FEW MOMENTS.

CLEANING WOMAN

Well I really shouldn't, but since there’s not much to do around here today, I guess, all right, we can talk.

DEBAUN

(Wave for her to enter)

Great. Please.

DEBAUN HOLDS THE DOOR OPEN FOR THE CLEANING WOMAN TO STEP INTO THE ROOM THEN LOOKS UP AND DOWN THE HALLWAY, ALL CLEAR, HE PUSHES THE CLEANING CART DOWN THE HALL.

Int. Hotel room

DeBaun hangs the "Do not disturb" sign on the door handle, pull his arm back in, shuts the door, puts the safety latch on. He then leads the cleaning woman to the edge of the bed.

He sits down on the edge of the bed and pats for the cleaning woman to sit down beside him. The cleaning woman sits down.

DEBAUN

So, what's your name?

CLEANING WOMAN

Sarah.

HE BRUSHES THE FEW STRAIN OF HER LOOSE HAIR ASIDE.

DEBAUN

Sarah, that's a beautiful name, almost as beautiful as you are, you know that?

CLEANING WOMAN SMILES SHEEPISHLY.

CLEANING WOMAN

You are pretty handsome yourself.

INT. HOTEL LOBBY

Dave let go of the elevator door as Doug steps in. The door closes.

INT. HOTEL ROOM

DeBaun is on top of the cleaning woman kissing her passionately, his lips gradually moves down to the side of her neck, then SHWWWK, SHWWWK the cleaning woman howlers in pain as she pounds on DeBaun's back with her fist. DeBaun gulps down her blood.

The cleaning woman reaches over to the nightstand feeling for something to attack DeBaun with. She grabs the open bible, grabs it and proceeds to hammer at DeBaun’s back with it.

Bang, bang, bang, the people in the next room pounds on the wall.

VOICE

Hey, knock it off over there.

CLEANING WOMAN

Help…

DEBAUN COVERS THE CLEANING WOMAN'S MOUTH.

EXT. HALLWAY

The cleaning woman's cart is crashed against the ice machine.

BING, the elevator door opens. Agent Nelson charges out leading Dave and Doug racing down the hallway, guns ready.

INT. HOTEL ROOM

The woman is breathing very hard with her arms slumped on her side. The bible is on the floor.

DeBaun lift his bloody face up, alarmed.

EXT. HOTEL ROOm

Dave, Doug, and Agent Nelson rush to the door. Dave and Doug take position on either side of the door, Agent Nelson takes a few steps back from the door, then rushes up to the door and kicks it down.

INT. HOTEL ROOM

DeBaun stands by the window staring at the woman on the bed moaning meekly as she breath heavily, struggling with each breath.

The door slams down to the floor, Agent Nelson rushes in followed by Dave and Doug with pistol held in front of him.

AGENT NELSON

Freeze DeBaun! Federal agent! Don’t move!

DAVE GLANCES AT THE WOMAN LYING ON THE BED.

Dave

Sarah?

DAVE GLANCES OVER AT HIS VICTIM. THE WOMAN TURNS HER HEAD SLIGHTLY TOWARD HIM AND BLINKS. DAVE RUSH TO THE WOMAN’S SIDE.

dave

Oh shit!

DEBAUN GAVE LOOKS BACK AT AGENT NELSON AND LAUGHS.

DEBAUN

You think I'm going to surrender myself because you have some little toy in your hand, those things can't hurt me.

DEBAUN POINTS TO AGENT NELSON.

DEBAUN

I am a monster now, thanks to you people.

BANG, BANG, BANG, DAVE EMPTIES HIS GUN INTO DEBAUN AS HE GETS UP ON HIS FEET AND CHARGES AT DEBAUN.

Dave

You fucking bitch! I fucking kill you!

DEBAUN IS FORCED BACK TOWARD THE WINDOW BY THE BULLET’S IMPACT. DOUG AND AGENT NELSON CALLS BACK TO DAVE SIMULTANEOUSLY.

doug

Dave no!

AGENT NELSON

Stop!

DEBAUN FALLS OUT OF THE WINDOW. THE OF THEM RUSH TO THE WINDOW LOOKING DOWN.

Dave turns back to the weakening woman, takes off his shirt as he rush toward her. He presses the inside of his shirt against her wound.

Dave

Don’t die on me Sarah! Don’t you dare die on me! I spend too fucking long looking for you!

EXT. HOTEL

He falls down from a fifth story window landing through the top of a dumpster feet first with the three law enforcers watches through the shattered window.

BANG, BANG, KONG, a fist punches through the side of the dumpster, then the side is ripped apart by a pair of hands. DeBaun steps out of the dumpster, looks up with his wrist held out together as if hand cuffed.

DEBAUN

Come on, put me behind bars, put me back in that hellhole of yours, if you can.

DEBAUN LAUGHS AS HE TAKES OFF RUNNING.

agent nelson

God damn it!

AGENT NELSON EMPTY HIS GUN SHOOTING AT DEBAUN, THEN RELOADS WITH A NEW AMMO CLIP AND RESUME SHOOTING.

WINDOW

Doug steps away, but Agent Nelson fires on DeBaun until his gun empties again.

INT. HOTEL ROOM

Doug rushes back to Dave, put a hand on his shoulder.

doug

Is she going to be all right?

DAVE LOOKS BACK UP AT DOUG WITH WATERY EYES.

dave

For now. She didn’t loose too much blood.

DOUG NODS AND PICKS UP THE PHONE ON THE NIGHTSTAND BESIDE THE BED AND DIALS.

doug

I’ll call for an ambulance.

DOUG

This is Detective Goodwin, serial number one three two zero seven six, I need an ambulance over here right now. My position is 53rd street and Main, room 205 in the Holiday Inn hotel.

(BEAT)

One victim, Female, approximate age.

DOUG IS SHOCKED TO FIND DAVE HOLDING THE WOMAN’S HAND PRAYING WHEN HE TURNS TOWARD DAVE.

EXT. HOTEL PARKING LOT

An ambulance parks in front of the side entrance. Agent Nelson and Doug burst through the double door and holds it open for a team of medical technicians as they wheel the woman out on a stretcher. Dave follows the medical technicians out.

Dave races pass the medical technician to be beside the woman. He takes her hand into his and forces a smile on his face. The woman grins back.

The medical technician loads the woman into the ambulance, two of the three technicians climb in the back with her while the other hurries to the front and gets into the driver seat.

As Dave is about to climb into the back of the ambulance, one of the technician stops him.

medial technician

Sir, are you a family member?

DAVE

No.

MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

I’m sorry sir, you can’t come with us.

DAVE SIMPLE NODS IN RECOGNITION.

dave

You just give her to best care there is. You understand?

THE TECHNICIAN CLOSES THE AMBULANCE DOOR. DOUG WALKS UP BESIDE DAVE. THEY WATCH THE AMBULANCE RACE AWAY.

Doug pads Dave on the shoulder.

doug

Come on partner; let’s go meet her in the hospital.

DAVE WHIPS THE TEARS FROM HIS CHEEK AS HE ALLOWS DOUG TO LEAD HIM AWAY. AGENT NELSON WATCHES AT A DISTANCE.

INT. DANCE CLUB-NIGHT

DeBaun is dancing at the dance floor.

DEBAUN

He walks up to the bar leaning on the counter beside an attractive brunette drinking a bottle of beer. He waves to the bartender.

DEBAUN

Beer. Miller.

THE BARTENDER SLIDES AN OPEN BOTTLE OF BUD LIGHT DOWN THE COUNTER TO HIM. HE SWALLOWS A MOUTHFUL BEFORE TURNING TO THE BRUNETTE.

DEBAUN

Hey, what's your name?

THE BRUNETTE GLANCES AT DEBAUN.

BRUNETTE

You want my name? What for?

DEBAUN

Cause you’re a pretty lady?

THE BRUNETTE GIGGLES.

brunette

(Smiles)

Kathryn.

DEBAUN

That's a lovely name Kathryn, name's Will.

EXTEND HIS HAND TO HER. SHE ACCEPTS HIS HAND SHACK. DEBAUN RAISES HER HAND TOWARD HIS LIPS, AND KISSES THE BACK OF HER HAND.

DEBAUN

I just got back from duty in Africa, about a month ago.

KATHRYN

Wow, a really live GI Joe?

DEBAUN

(Smiles)

Yep, Green Beret all the way.

A NEW SONG STARTS UP; DEBAUN STANDS UP OFFERING HIS HAND TO THE BRUNETTE.

DEBAUN

Shall we?

BRUNETTE GIVES THE DEBAUN A BADLY IMITATED SALUTE.

BRUNETTE

Yes sir.

DEBAUN AND KATHRYN WALK ONTO THE DANCE FLOOR.

INT. hospital-outside patient room

Doug sits outside the patient room waiting.

Inside the patient room, Dave is sitting next to the woman holding her hand as they talk. Dave pads the back of her hand then sets it down beside her and walks toward the door.

Dave walks out of the patient room. Doug looks up, opens is mouth to ask something.

dave

She’s asleep.

DAVE SITS DOWN BESIDE DOUG.

doug

She must mean something special to you.

DAVE

She was my girlfriend in Junior High and part of high school.

DOUG

What happened between you two?

DAVE

Her family moved in the summer of my Junior year and I didn’t think much of keeping in touch with her. By the time school came around I realized how much she meant to me, but it was too late.

DOUG

Why didn’t you go look for her?

DAVE

I did, but by then she already got together with someone else. I found that out through her friend. When I found out that she was going to go to the Naval academy, I applied as well.

DOUG

But you didn’t get accepted?

DAVE

No, I did, but she didn’t, so it turned out that she went ahead and did the ROTC program at Michigan. I guess that’s why I went into special force after graduation because they travel frequently from base to base and with a little luck I can meet up with Sarah again.

DOUG

Well I guess that was a hopeless dream, she never made it through ROTC or College.

DAVE

Oh no, she did, she just helps her parents out when she’s free. Her father is the manager of that hotel.

(BEAT)

Doug, I want you to promise me something.

DOUG

Yea, sure anything.

DAVE

When we find DeBaun, I want him dead, not put behind bars. You promise?

DOUG

Yea, I promise.

INT. PARKING LOT

DeBaun walks the brunette to her car, opens the door for her after she unlocks it with her car with her key. DeBaun leans against the car door smiling as she sits down on the driver's seat.

BRUNETTE

Thanks, I had a wonderful time today.

DEBAUN

Yea, maybe we can do the same thing tomorrow night, what do you say about that?

BRUNETTE

Are you asking me out on a date?

DEBAUN

You can call it that.

BRUNETTE

Well, I don't know when I'll be free tomorrow, but let me give you my number and you can try to get a hold of me tomorrow.

THE BRUNETTE WRITES ON A SHEET OF PAPER SHE TOOK OUT OF HER PURSE. AS SHE FINISHES WRITING DOWN THE FIRST THREE NUMBERS, SHE BRUSHES HER HAIR ASIDE EXPOSING HER BARE NECK.

DeBaun shuts his eyes, as he opens his eyes again, his eyes have mutated into cat eyes. The brunette finishes writing down the phone number, she puts her pen away and turns to DeBaun handing him the slip of paper.

BRUNETTE

Ok, here…Ash!

DEBAUN GROWLS THEN LAUNCHES FORWARD ATTACKING THE WOMAN. THE BRUNETTE'S CAR ROCKS BACK AND FORTH AS HER SCREAM FILL THE AIR, THEN COMPLETE SILENCE AS THE CAR STOP ROCKING.

INT. POLICE CHIEF'S OFFICE-DAY

Dave, Doug, and Agent Nelson sits in front of the Police Chief's desk. The police officers are very displeased as Agent Nelson plays it cool.

POLICE CHIEF

Agent Nelson, I'm not questioning your integrity, but can you please just explain why are all the evidences on this case missing from the evidence locker and the computer files on the case erased, by you?

AGENT NELSON

How'd you know it was me, it could of have been anyone.

POLICE CHIEF

I already have had my men go through the security tapes and the computer's history. It was you all right. Look, I know the FBI got stuff to hide from the public and you were probably acting under orders to remove those evidences, but you said it yourself, we are on the same team. These two are my bust men, they can help you solve this case, but if you withhold information from them, they won't be able to help you much on this case, and don't tell me you can solve it by yourself, because that is a loud of crap.

(BEAT)

You tell me the truth or you're off this investigation.

AGENT NELSON

Ok, ok, those files regarding DeBaun are classified, not even I have access to them. All I was told is that he was treated for some kind of fatal sickness with some kind of experimental virus, everything was fine at first, but then it went sour. They kept him in isolation for thirteen month, and then I guess he got tired of being locked up, so he broke out, and now the government wants him back.

DAVE

So what you're saying is that the Feds screwed up again, right? Fucking ass government!

POLICE CHIEF

Hey! You just watch yourself.

DOUG

Sir, the one woman that he cared for just got attacked. That’s why he’s a little ticked.

POLICE CHIEF

His mother? I thought she’s dead?

DOUG

No, it’s not his mother, but his high school sweetheart.

POLICE CHIEF

(Surprised)

He was in a serious relationship for more then a month?

INT. STRIP CLUB-NIGHT

DeBaun sits at a table with three empty bottles in front of his half-filled bottle of beer as waitresses in bikinis are carrying trays of drinks to different tables.

ANOUNCER

(Voice over speakers)

Ladies and Gentlemen, let’s give a worm welcome to our next gal, Ms. Hollander.

A STRIPPER DRESSED IN NURSE OUTFIT WALKS ONTO STAGE. AS SHE STRIPS, DEBAUN PUSHES HIS WAY PASS WILD CUSTOMERS TO THE EDGE OF THE STAGE IN FRONT OF HER.

DEBAUN

His eyes are in the cat eye mode, then without warning he lunge up for the stripper. He misses her by a few inches.

DeBaun lifts his head up and stick his tongue out. SHWWWK, the rod flies past the stripper's head. SHWWWK, it retracts.

The customers all backs away from DeBaun.

The stripper turns to flee, she trips and falls.

STRIPPER

Ahhhh! AHHHHH!

SHWWK, THE RODE PIERCES THROUGH THE STRIPPER'S NURSE CAP.

Two bouncers at the edge of the stage rush toward the DeBaun brushing customers out of their way as the stripper backs away from DeBaun weeping.

As DeBaun climbs onto the stage the two bouncers promptly pull him back down. Bouncer One take an empty beer bottle and stuffs it into DeBaun's mouth before grabby him by the arm dragging him toward the door. The customers boo DeBaun as he is being dragged pass.

DeBaun's rod pierces through the bottom of the bottle. The rod extends and contracts repeatedly. The stripper walks off the stage in tears.

EXT. STRIP CLUB-facing parking lot-NIGHT

The front door of the club bursts open. The two bouncers toss the DeBaun out. One of the bouncers points his finger at the DeBaun.

BOUNCER ONE

You get out and stay out.

BOUNCER TWO

I'll break your face if you ever decide to come back here again. Freak!

BOUNCER TWO SPITS ON THE GROUND BESIDE DEBAUN, THEN TURNS HEADING BACK INTO THE CLUB WITH BOUNCER ONE, THEY SHUTS THE DOOR BEHIND THEM.

DeBaun push himself up, strolls into the parking lot.

EXT. PARKING LOT OUTSIDE A DANCE CLUB-NIGHT

DeBaun stumbles between the parked cars in the parking lot. He falls on the ground between two parked cars.

EXT. TOP OF A SKYSCRAPER-NIGHT

DeBaun is standing at the edge of the building. He extends out his arms before falling forward off the building.

EXT. SPACE OUTSIDE THE SKYSCRAPTER-NIGHT

DeBaun SQUEALS like a monster as he free falls.

SUV

He lands on top of a parked SUV headfirst collapsing in the SUV's hood, shattering the windows and sounding the car alarm. Droplets of blood splatter everywhere.

EXT. FRONT ENTRANCE OF SKYSCRAPER-NIGHT

As hotel worker and several customers walks out looking stunned at DeBaun's body on top of the crushed SUV.

DeBaun sits up and climb off the SUV. The stunned crowd is murmuring among themselves as DeBaun walks away with his back covered in blood.

An onlooker calls to DeBaun.

ONLOOKER

Hey mister, are you all right?

A PATROL CAR ARRIVES MOMENTS LATER.

INT. POLICE STATION LAB-EARLY AFTERNOON

An enthusiastic lab analyst, STEVEN, greets the two detectives and Agent Nelson as they step into the lab. They immediately cover their nose.

AGENT NELSON

God, what's that awful smell?

STEVEN

Formaldehyde. Gentlemen, the blood sample you give me, it is not human. You people made a mistake somewhere.

DOUG

What are you talking about? That's impossible, I took the sample myself and I brought it straight to you. There can't be any contamination done to the sample.

STEVEN SHAKES HIS HEAD.

STEVEN

I don't know how, but this cannot be of human origin or from any life form known to mankind.

STEVEN WAVES FOR THE GROUP TO FOLLOW HIM

STEVEN

Come here, you must see this for yourself.

THEY FOLLOW STEVEN TO A SOPHISTICATED MACHINE. STEVEN TAKES A SLIDE ON HIS DESK AND SLIDES IT INTO THE MACHINE.

STEVEN

Look, here is the sample you gave me, observe.

STEVEN TURNS ON THE MACHINE. THE SCREEN ON THE MACHINE SHOWS A COLUMN OF DATA BESIDE THE MAGNIFIED IMAGE OF THE BLOOD SAMPLE.

STEVEN

If this is not a joke.

DAVE

Steven. It ain't a joke.

STEVEN

Then you guys stumbled on something unprecedented before.

THE THREE MEN LOOK AT STEVEN CURIOUSLY. STEVEN POINTS TO ONE OF MANY OVAL CELL WITH A LARGE NUCLEUS IN THE CENTER DISPLAYED ON THE MONITOR.

STEVEN

If you will look closely at those cells, what do you see?

AGENT NELSON

Normal blood cells?

STEVEN

No! Those are not your everyday normal blood cells, they are Biconvex cells…they don't transport oxygen but nitrogen to the body, and look at that, see that column?

DOUG

Yes I see the column. What’s so special about it?

STEVEN

That's the one for percent concentration of white blood cells in your sample, and it is way off the chart. And look those, those things are not hemoglobin like the ones inside you and me, those are mutated hemoglobin.

AGENT NELSON

So, who or what this blood might belong to?

STEVEN TURNS TO HIM.

STEVEN

I do not know, but look at the concentration of Uric Acid and phosphorous, they are way too high, normally we should have less then 0.03 percent of these substances in our blood stream; these are very very bad stuff. If it is slightly higher then 0.03 percent, it will kill you instantly.

HE SLAPS HIS FINGER.

STEVEN

Just like that, a human body is a very delicate piece of hardware, any slight imbalance can force your body to shut down as a way to protect its self and you will die.

AGENT NELSON

I have to agree with Doctor Klos. Frankly Doug, these things found in your sample are impossible to be present in human blood, so obviously a mistake or two is made somewhere.

STEVEN

Thanks for the support, but I have one more thing to share with you, I did some tests on this sample like the usual chemical panel test, things like that, well, to make the story short, I accidentally spill a bottle of Ecoli bacterium while performing the test, some of the bacterium got into the sample.

DOUG

So that explains the incorrect results.

STEVEN

Yes, these results were not correct, but the ones I showed you just a few minutes ago are from uncontaminated sample. But back to what I was saying, when I took a look at the contaminated sample, I found no trace of Ecoli in it, now I know I saw several drops of Ecoli infested solution land in the sample.

AGENT NELSON

So, it wasn’t contaminated, big deal.

STEVEN

Big deal? There’s no E-bola in the sample and I know there should be. This thing that you found holds the key to curing many diseases, such as AIDS.

DOUG

AIDS? You tested with AIDS? I thought that that's against the rule here.

STEVEN

Well yea it is, but you know what? Your sample got rid of the AIDS virus within an hour, its incredible.

AGENT NELSON

That's impossible? There must have been some kind of mistake. Why don't you do the test over again.

STEVEN

Sure, I can do it right now.

AGENT NELSON LOOKS AT HIS WATCH.

AGENT NELSON

Well, I got to go right now, but why don't you do it for us oh let’s say tomorrow morning around nine?

STEVEN

Nine o’clock tomorrow morning should be ok.

AGENT NELSON

Good, I have to attend a meeting in thirty minutes. I'll see you boys tomorrow morning then.

AGENT NELSON GIVES THE TWO DETECTIVES AND STEVEN A GOODBYE WAVE AS HE LEAVES THE LAB.

DEBAUN THRUST A KNIFE ACROSS HIS NECK, SLICING THE MAN'S THROAT, BLOOD SQUIRT OUT OF THE WOUND ONTO THE MAN'S SHOULDER AS HE GAGES FOR BREATH.

DEBAUN

That's right, I am not your partner.

cop

DEBAUN

DEBAUN NOTICES THAT THE POLICE OFFICER IS UNEASE ABOUT SOMETHING. HE FIRES UP THE BMW AND SPEEDS AWAY.

The squad car makes a U-turn driving away in the opposite direction.

AGENT NELSON STRUGGLES TO FREE HIMSELF AS HE MUMBLES.

DEBAUN

That's right. You see what you guys turned me into?

DEBAUN TAKES OUT A RUBBER TUBE COLLECTED TO A CORK AT ONE END AND A SYRINGE NEEDLE AT THE OTHER, THEN HE TAKES OUT TWO LARGE FLASKS FROM THE POCKET OF HIS LAB COAT.

He unwraps a package of rubbing alcohol and rubs the cotton over the protruding vein on the Agent's arm. He picks up the syringe.

DEBAUN

This'll hurt just a bit.

HE INSERTS THE SYRINGE INTO AGENT NELSON'S VEIN AND STUFFS THE CORK ONTO THE FLASK'S OPENING. IMMEDIATELY BLOOD FLOWS THROUGH THE THIN TUBE INTO THE FLASK.

DeBaun sits in the chair beside Agent Nelson's bed whistling as he watch the flask fill up.

DAVE

Yea, you’re right.

Same two soldiers advance carefully toward where DeBaun was seconds ago. DeBaun is nowhere to be seen.

As the two soldiers walk past the heaters, DeBaun springs up from behind several large pipes shooting at the soldiers.

The first soldier is thrown back against the boiler from the impact of the bullets hitting him in the chest. He slides down the boiler leaving several trails of blood.

The surviving soldier ducks low. When DeBaun ceases fire to reload his gun, he springs up firing at DeBaun's direction. DeBaun takes cover behind a roll of pipes.

O'DANIEL

That's for all the trouble you caused me.

TURN TO DAVE AND DOUG.

O'DANIEL

And for you two, I'm afraid you just know a little too much, I tried to save your asses down there but you are too stubborn to realize it. We just can't allow anyone to know too much about us and what we do, it would be a breach of security if we let you live

DAVE

Hey, all we know is that DeBaun's wanted for federal offense and that's all.

O'DANIEL

Well that's what you say, one can never be too certain can they?

O'DANIEL SLAPS HIS FINGER. THE SURVIVING SOLDIER STROLLS OVER WITH A FULL SYRINGE IN HAND. HE TILTS DOUG'S HEAD TO ONE SIDE AND IS ABOUT TO STICK THE NEEDLE IN IT.

DOUG

What the hell is that?

O'DANIEL STOPS THE SOLDIER WITH A HAND GESTURE.

Several rounds pierce through the chair embedding itself into DeBaun. Despite the force of impact from the bullets piercing into him, he holds his ground.

DEBAUN

He picks up the lead soldier's machine gun and shoots back. The Soldier is hit several times in the face, he falls back hard against the ground.

O'Daniel's gun hand is shot, forcing him to drop his gun. O'Daniel holds his wounded hand in pain. He takes the radio from his belt holster with his good hand.

DEBAUN KNOCKS THE RADIO OUT OF O’DANIEL’S HAND.

O'Daniel slowly backs away from DeBaun as DeBaun looks down at the turning and twisting Lead Soldier moaning on the ground. He places his right foot on the lead soldier's throat pressing down slowly.

The lead soldier struggles to push DeBaun's foot off his throat with no effect while he struggles for air, then his strength weakens until his eyes rolls back and his hands fall to his side.

DeBaun looks up at the O'Daniel backing away, he charges at the Director grabbing onto his hair
