(BMA-IBT 4.4)Students will be able to effectively understand management’s role in contributing to successful business operations by completing a worksheet on decision making to a level of 85% accuracy. MUST have both an informal and formal assessment.Type of assessmentDescription of assessmentsFORMAL:Students will be able to effectively explain the four management functions by completing a scenario worksheet of the management functions to mastery. The worksheet consists of four scenarios which require the student to pick the appropriate management function. This will be for a total of 25 RMAL:A ticket out the door is required to exit the class. The students will answer the following questions: What is one of the functions of a manger? How have you used this function in your personal life? This will be collected for attendance at the closure of the lesson. This will be for a total of 10 attendance points.Instructional Strategies and Learning TasksDescription of what the teacher (you) will be doing and/or what the students will be doing.Launch____5______ MinutesHow will you start the lesson to engage and motivate students in learning?In the beginning of the lesson I will be asking students what they think of when they hear the word management. I will ask them if they believe they exhibit the functions on a daily basis. I will tell them how I exhibit these functions, and I will get their opinion on whether exhibit them or not.Instruction____25______ MinutesWhat will you do to engage students in developing understanding of the lesson objective(s)? I will refer back to the question I used to launch the lesson.All students are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussion.Students will view different scenarios involving each of the four functions of management.Students will provide the reason why they picked the function on the scenario worksheet in a brief class discussion.I will go over some of the management do’s and don’ts according to the AMA will provide a worksheet that has guidelines for setting SMART goals.Structured Practice and Application__15________ MinutesHow will you give students the opportunity to practice so you can provide feedback? How will students apply what they have learned? How will you determine if students are meeting the intended learning objectives?Students will apply their knowledge by completing the scenario worksheet. The scenario worksheet consists of four scenarios related to each function of management. Students will complete this worksheet in groups of 4 to have as much input as possible.Students will provide the reason why they made certain decisions in a brief discussion pertaining to the scenario worksheet.Students are encouraged to ask me or their classmates questions related to the lesson.Students will complete the DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES activity outside of class. It will be due on April 8th.Closure______5____ MinutesHow will you end the lesson?I will conclude the lesson by asking students if they still have the same opinions on management. While the discussion is taking place students will complete their ticket out the door activity.Differentiation/ Planned SupportHow will you provide students’ access to learning based on individual and group needs?How will you support students with gaps in the prior knowledge that is necessary to be successful in this lesson?Whole Class: The whole class will follow the lesson plan with the materials provided. In order to set effective SMART goals I will provide a worksheet that gives the students extra advice on how to set SMART goals. The AMA website link that I have provided will give more insight on the behavior managers should exhibit. Groups of students with similar needs: Students will use interpersonal skills, and higher order thinking skills.Individual students: Students are encouraged to take notes to go along with the lesson. Students are encouraged to refer to these notes outside of the classroom.Students with IEP’s or 504 plans: Students with these needs will receive extra time to complete the assignment.Strategies for responding to common errors and misunderstandings, developmental approximations, misconceptions, partial understandings, and/or misunderstandings: Students will be able to speak to me after class or attend my office hours.
