Presentation and Web ProjectEnglish 2250, Fall 2016Presentations—November 17th and 29th Written Portion Due—November 29th Objective—The objective of this assignment is to expand upon your knowledge of American literature through 1865 and for you to share that new knowledge with your fellow students. To do this, I will assign each of you one of the topics below, and you must work with your partner to create a presentation and a written/web product to share with the class. The presentation can derive from the written/web product. Requirements Written/Web Portion—This portion will appear on the website Tumblr. I have made the class’s Tumblr site private. If you would like me to share the site at the end of the semester, I will. Until then, though, only our class can see it. Define the termFind two academic sources (journal article/book/book chapter) that discusses your termSummarize the academic sources, either separately or together as a conversation, and discuss how they relate to a text(s) we have looked at during the semesterDiscuss how the term you defined and researched relates to one or more of the texts and/or ideas we have covered this semester Works cited portion at the end of your postI am not providing a word or length limit to any section of this assignment. In fact, I want you to be creative as possible when constructing this portion of the assignment. That means think about using videos, images, links to outside sites, and any other techniques to convey the information required. Presentation—This portion will occur during class either on November 17th or November 29th. Your group will have five minutes to present to the class your term and how it relates to what we have covered during the semester. You can provide more information than you do on the written/web portion of the assignment, but make sure you focus on defining the term and speaking about what the term means in the context in regards to texts we have read. Peer/Self Evaluation—You will be required to evaluate your partner’s contribution to the project and to evaluate your own. To do this, I will distribute (either on paper or through Canvas) a form that has you rank you and your partner’s contributions to the project. I will average out the results to get this portion of the grade.
