Preface

Word problem, are mathematical problems described through a short story or within few sentences. Today, students in Bangladesh mainly those who are studying at English medium facing some problems to solve word problems as there is lack of enough, proper and available resources. Observing that and promoted by some other requests I took some initiative to fulfill students demand.

In that book there are 26 chapters has been

organized

in

categories-Addition,

Subtraction, Multiplication & Division.

Totally there are about 500 word problems

which have been arranged in "Easy to Hard"

order. The ultimate target of that book is to

make children skilled in word problems by

creating huge variation in case of related

context.

I want to thank specially Ilma Publication for publishing that book as well as to those people are involved in the process. If the book becomes a useful tool for the young geniuses I will really grateful to the Almighty as well as to all of my motivator.

Word problem

Today, word problems are very common in mathematics of various level of study. Word problems mainly "a descriptive type mathematical problem" where a specific mathematical problem has been described through a short story or a part of a story in some practical cases. The problem can be solved by using some different techniques and with some fundamental procedure of mathematics.

How to solve a word problem easily?

Word problem has two points where you need to look carefully. The first is ,,nature of the problem means what to do i.e.-addition or subtraction or else. The second point is the statement. However if want go through any word problem easily, you may follow the following steps-

Read the problem thoroughly and get a touch to feel the problem.

List

the

variables

and

information that are given and

that need to identify.
