Initial Call

Ryan (Publisher): Good morning, my name is Ryan, may I ask yours?

Ben (Householder): Ben

Ryan (Publisher): Good to meet you Ben, I've been talking to people this morning about the purpose of life with bad things happening all around the world many people wonder if life has any purpose. What's your opinion?

Ben (Householder): I think life on Earth is just a test. We have to make the best of it until we get to heaven.

Ryan (Publisher): Thank you, for expressing your view many people feel the same way. Does this mean that you were a religious person?

Ben (Householder): Oh, yes. I read my Bible daily.

Ryan (Publisher): That's excellent. Have you ever thought about what the Bible says about God's purpose for humans here at Genesis 1:27-28. It says:

27 And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”

Ryan (Publisher): So according to verse 28, what did God want for the Earth and humans on it?

Ben (Householder): I says they should fill the Earth and subdue it.

Ryan (Publisher): Exactly, So God wanted Adam and Eve to expand their home the Garden of Eden until it filled the whole Earth. Of course Earth isn't exactly a paradise today?, Does that mean that God's purpose failed?

Ben (Householder): Hmm.

Ryan (Publisher): The next time I stopped by I'd like to consider why we can trust of God will fulfill his purpose for the Earth and humans? Are you usually home around this time on Saturday?

Ben (Householder): Oh yeah, I'm usually here.

Ryan (Publisher): Great, I'll come by this time next week.

First Return Visit

Ryan (Publisher): Hi Ben, it's me, Ryan.

Ben (Householder): Hi Ryan.

Ryan (Publisher): Great to see you again. How do we go for you?

Ben (Householder): Not bad, thanks.

Ryan (Publisher): That's good. I really enjoyed our conversation the other day and I wanted to get back to you on the question, I left at the end. Why can we trust that God will fulfill his purpose? What do you think?

Ben (Householder): Well, he's God, nobody can stop him.

Ryan (Publisher): True and his track record proves it. This makes me think about what it says here at Joshua 21:45. Would you like to read that out loud for us?

Ben (Householder): Okay:

45 Not a promise failed out of all the good promises that Jehovah had made to the house of Israel; all of them came true.

Ryan (Publisher): Thank you, so what kind of reputation has God whose personal name is Jehovah established?

Ben (Householder): All of his promises came true.

Ryan (Publisher): Right, so if you had a friend who always kept his word, would you believe him if he made you a promise?

Ben (Householder): Of course.

Ryan (Publisher): The Bible is full of promises that God has kept.

Ben (Householder): You know, that makes sense.

Ryan (Publisher) thinking: Ben seems to be receptive to discussing Bible topics. So I think I'll offer him the teach us book.

Ryan (Publisher): What we discussed regarding the purpose of life is found in this little book. “What Can The Bible Teach us?” It also contains many other interesting topics such as why so much suffering? This is your copy if you'll read it.

Ben (Householder): Yeah, sure, I'll read it

Ryan (Publisher): The next time I'm here, I'd like to discuss what God has promised for the future. If you want to preview. You'll find some of God's promises on pages 4 and 5 of the book.

Ben (Householder): Okay, Thanks.

Second Return Visit

Ryan (Publisher): So Ben, when I was here last time I left the question what has got promised for the future? Do you have the book I left you and maybe your copy of the Bible?

Ben (Householder): Yeah, just a second. Let me see if I can find them. (minutes later), Here's the book, and here's my Bible, I use the King James version.

Ryan (Publisher): Great if we turn to page 4 in the book, we find some of God's promises for the future. What's the first point at the top of the page?

Ben (Householder): It says people will no longer feel pain, grow old, or die; Revelation 21:4.

Ryan (Publisher): Thank you, now what does your Bible say at Revelation 21:4, would you read it, please?

Ben (Householder): Okay, it says: (King James Version)

4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.”

Ben (Householder): Wow, I've never read that before.

Ryan (Publisher): It's very touching, isn't it? It's just as the book says God will do amazing things on the Earth. But what will God's promise that Revelation 21:4 mean for you and your loved ones?

Ben (Householder): Well, I was just thinking of my parents both of them are getting older and they're dealing with all kinds of health problems and I'm not getting any younger either.

Ryan (Publisher): I'm right there with you. It seems like the older we get the more concerns we have about our health. But God promises that aging will be reversed.

Ben (Householder): Oh, that'd be nice.

Ryan (Publisher): Of course with such beautiful promises from God. We want to know how we can experience those blessings? That's part of the purpose of this book. The next time I stopped by I'd like to show you how you can get the most out of it?
