Turn Off Pop-Up Blockers for Blackboard (ONLY)

Blackboard Courses require you to have the Blackboard URL added to the "allowable" list of pop-ups for the browser. Additionally, all toolbar pop-up (example: Yahoo, Google, etc) blockers need to be disabled. Click on the Tools button (located in the upper Right of the Internet Explorer window)

Select Internet Options

Select the PRIVACY tab

Click on the Pop-up Blocker Settings Button

Type *.uthscsa.edu in the Address of Web Site to Allow field. Click Add

Click Close, Click OK

Disable Pop-up Blockers in ToolBars

Disable Pop-up Blocker in Yahoo Toolbar:

Click on Pop-up Blocker

Click on the Enable Pop-up Blocker to REMOVE the checkmark.

(NOTE: if the checkmark is already removed, do not click on Enable Pop-up Blocker as it will turn it back on.) Disable Pop-up Blocker in

Google Toolbar:

Pop-up Blocker Enabled

Determine if pop-up blocker is already disabled. If Icon looks like the top picture, follow procedures below. If Icon looks like the bottom picture, no actions are required at this time.

Pop-up Blocker Disabled

Click on Pop-up Blocker button (the Icon will change to the bottom picture)
