What does regeneration potion do in minecraft

Posted: Dec 2, 2020 in Minecraft By DavidOverviewAlright gamers, you didn't click on this for no reason. You want to know how to master the art of brewery and potioncraft in hopes of empowering yourself. Whether it be for PvP, utility, or just fun, I'll help you figure the best way to acquire some awesome potions! Now, let's get started. The Brewery This is what you'll need to start making potions. You can find these in Villagers, or craft them yourself with 3 Cobblestone, and 1 Blaze Rod. You can also find potions, but if you planned on doing that, you wouldn't be reading this. This is the UI of the Brewing Stand. To get started, you'll need to fuel the Brewing Stand with Blaze Powder. Next, place the corresponding ingredients in the top middle slot. The slots that have a Bottle outline will be where you place Bottles of Water, which will eventually transform into the potions. Only one ingredient is needed to brew three potions.Potionography Alright Edward Elric, let's get started on your Alchemical journey! This is gonna be tough, but you'll do fine. First things first, you're going to need to make some glass bottles. 3 Glass oughta do it. To brew potions, you need to fill these bottles with water by right-clicking a water source. Any water source block will do.One thing you'll need to get used to in Alchemy is the idea of transmutation. Basically, turning one thing into another. To create any potion effective potion you'll need to make an Awkward Potion. (Potion of Weakness is the only exception) This is done by using Nether Wart as an ingredient on water bottles in the Brewing Stand. Once the Awkward Potion is created, different ingredients can be added to manifest different effects. That's it! You're an alchemist! Each and Every...Here I will list off each and every potion along with its effect, and how to make them. Here we go! Allows you to see clearly in the darkBrew: Awkward Potion + Golden Carrot Makes you invisibleBrew: Potion of Night Vision + Fermented Spider Eye You can fly!? Note that upgrading Potion of the Turtle Master gives more resistance, but also more slownessBrew: Awkward Potion + Turtle Shell Increases luck, which increases the chances of finding higher quality items in chestsBrew: N/A This item is only unobtainable in Survival PotioneeringPotions typically trigger status effects on the player/mob affected. Whether it be Regeneration, Poison, or even something as silly as Leaping, it will be a timed status effect. Inside of the inventory, you can read all status effects and see how much longer they have on the duration in the form of a timer. Outside of the inventory, you can see small status symbols on the top right of your screen. They will start to blink when the duration of the effect is close to wearing off. All status effects, bad and good, can be cleansed by drinking a Bucket of Milk. All potions work similarly. They cannot be stacked on top of one another in your inventory (even similar potions) and take three seconds to drink. If you do not finish the full animation, you will not receive the effects of the potion.PotionologyAfter you've created your potions, you can upgrade them in one of two different ways: duration, and level. This is done with Redstone Dust or Glowstone Dust. If you upgrade the level, you cannot upgrade the duration and vice versa. Some potions can only have their duration upgraded, as shown in the graph above. Redstone Dust ? Extends the duration of the potion by over 200%Glowstone Dust ? Intensifies the potion's effects, but decreases the duration by 50%PotionographyI would say the main reason we use potions in Minecraft is to kill someone or something. Let's be real. Hitting twice as hard or making the enemy move slower is pretty useful. Whether it be a player or a mob, there are multiple ways you can utilize these potions. Sadly, politely asking your enemy to drink the Potion of Harming II typically does not work. This is where Splash and Lingering potions come in. Here's how they work. Takes 3 seconds to drink, only affects one individual. By using gunpowder as an ingredient, any potion can be turned into a Splash Potion. This makes any potion undrinkable, but turns it into a throwable object that triggers the potion's effects on anyone in the `splash zone' of where it lands. This allows the application of potions to be much quicker, and can be used to apply the effect to everyone in your group. (save on potions) This can also be a great tactic in PvP, by throwing negative potions at the enemy. By using Dragon's Breath as an ingredient, any potion can be turned into a Lingering Potion. This acts like a Splash Potion, but particles will `linger' and affect any mob or player that touches the area affected. The lingering particles will eventually dissipate. To acquire Dragon's Breath, you just need to right-click the Dragonbreath particles the Ender Dragon leaves behind when he attacks the ground. ConclusionWooh! That was quite a lot of information to gulp down, but I think it'll digest properly. Potions are a pretty complex part of Minecraft, but it can really feel fulfilling to empower yourself with the arts of Alchemy. From strengthening your blade, to literally becoming invisible, there are plenty of ways to enjoy potions! With that said, have a great day!Get started with your own minecraft server in 5 min and start trying out these great features. FlagView HistoryThis page is part of IGN's Minecraft Wiki guide and details everything you need to know about using and crafting a Potion of Regeneration at a brewing station. Potion of Regeneration is great for when taking on opponents or mobs stronger than you. While it doesn't do any damage to your enemy it will allow you to regenerate for a period of time. This makes you heal much faster, regardless of how full your hunger bar is. Like most potions it can be combined with Gunpowder, Redstone, Blaze Powder to make it even more useful. To brew this potion you first need a bottle of water which you put into the bottom three slots of the brewing stand. Next you must put a nether wart into the ingredient slot at the top of the stand. This will make an awkward potion. You then put a ghast tear (which you can find from killing ghasts in the nether) to the ingredient slot. You will get a Regeneration potion for 45 seconds. You can then put in a piece of glowstone dust OR redstone dust. The redstone dust will extend the effect to 2 minutes and the glowstone dust will make the potion effect stronger but it will shorten the time to 22 seconds. However, you can add a fermented spider eye to the potion and you will get a weakness potion for 1 minute and 30 seconds. The Potion of Regeneration is useful in almost any dangerous occasion. When consumed, you'll receive the Regeneration effect, which will rapidly cause your Health to regenerate over a short period of time. You don't need a full Hunger bar either for it to work. These types of Potions might be useful when defeating the Wither or Ender Dragon.Follow the steps below to Brew a Potion of Regeneration. If you already have a Brewing Stand and Awkward Potions, then you can skip ahead to Step 3.Step 1: Craft a Brewing StandIf you don't already have one, you'll need to craft a Brewing Stand. These are easily craftable, requiring 3 Cobblestone and 1 Blaze Rod.Brewing Stand RecipeThe image above shows the recipe. You'll need to place 3 Cobblestone alongside eachother, with a Blaze Rod in the upper middle slot. Once crafted, place the Brewing Stand down in your world.Step 2: Craft Awkward PotionsInside of the Brewing Stand, place 3 Bottles of Water into the bottom slots. In the top left slot, you should place your Blaze Powder, which will fuel the stand. In the top slot of the Brewing Stand, place some Nether Wart.Crafting Awkward PotionsAfter a short amount of time, the Nether Warts will be infused with the Bottles of Water, giving you 3 Awkward Potions in return. Make sure to leave them in there.Step 3: Craft the Potions of RegenerationNow you should have the top slot of the Brewing Stand empty, with the 3 Awkward Potions in the bottom slot. Make sure the Brewing Stand still has fuel, and in the top slot, place a Ghast Tear.Brewing a Potion of RegenerationYou can obtain Ghast Tears from the Nether, and are a common drop from killing Ghasts. A good way to kill them would either be with a Bow and Arrow, or by using a Sword to shoot the incoming fireball back towards it. Just try to position the Ghast so that it isn't above Lava, otherwise the tear will be destroyed.Extending the Potion DurationYou can extend the duration of your potion easily. Leave or place them into the bottom 3 slots of the Brewing Stand. Add Redstone Dust to the top, and the duration the potion lasts will be extended from 0:45 to 1:30 minutes instead.Turning it into a Splash PotionIf you want to turn it into a Splash Potion, it's simple to do. With your completed Potions inside of a Brewing Stand, simply add Gunpowder into the top slot. Once the Brewing process has completed, you'll have Splash Potions instead. Minecraft potions are a great way to buff your character, especially if you're planning a risky adventure. Potions have a lot of different uses--some might boost your health, while others will add certain resistances, or increase the damage you deal. While some potions can be improved to last longer, these enhancements are only temporary--but they can mean the difference between failure and success if used correctly. If you're after extra protection when you're away from your base, the best Minecraft enchantments will improve your armour and tools. And if you want to take survivability a step further, crafting your gear from Minecraft Netherite is the way to go. Of course, you can avoid most dangers completely by building yourself one of the best Minecraft castles. But if you're gripped by wanderlust and want to play safe, brewing up some of the best Minecraft potions will help you out in a number of tricky situations.Minecraft Brewing Equipment Here's all the gear you need to make Minecraft potions.Brewing Stand: A block used for adding ingredients into water bottles.Cauldron: This holds the water, and is used to fill the Glass Bottles which will eventually house the potions.Blaze Powder: This the fuel for the Brewing Stand.Glass Bottle: These are the containers for your potions.Water Bottle: This is the starting base for all potions. You get it by filling a Glass Bottle from the Cauldron. How to use a Brewing Stand The Brewing Stand can be made by combining one Blaze Rod with three bits of Cobblestone. You need to place the Blaze Rod in the centre as fuel and the Cobblestone along the bottom row. Blaze Rods can be found by killing Blazes in Nether Fortresses, and it's worth picking up as many as you can.Along with the fuel to the Brewing Stand you need to get started, you're also going to need some Water Bottles, and some Nether Wart. To make Water Bottles, first craft Glass Bottles by combining three pieces of Glass on a crafting table. These must be arranged in a V shape with the three pieces being in the middle-left, bottom-middle, and middle-right of the table. Then, take your bottles to a water source and use them. Next is the Nether Wart, which you can get by finding it in The Nether. You can also create your own farm by laying down some Soul Sand and planting the Nether Wart in it.Now that's settled, we can return to brewing. Add up to three Water Bottles to the stand before adding in some Nether Wart. Once the process has completed, you'll have three Awkward Potions to play around with. On their own these potions are useless, but they're also the main component of most potions.(Image credit: Mojang)There are two basic ways to change potions. You can change how the potion works at a base level, such as making it last longer. That's what we're looking at here. Further down, we look at changing the effects of potions, so they do different things. For now though, here are the ingredients for the base changes, and what they do:Mundane PotionIngredient: Redstone Dust How to get: Mine Redstone OreModifier Effect: Extends potion durationThick PotionIngredient: Glowstone Dust How to get: Mine Glowstone BlocksModifier Effect: Enhances potion level. Increases potency, but lasts for less time. Potion Of WeaknessIngredient: Fermented Spider Eye How to get: Craft a Spider's Eye with Sugar and a Brown MushroomModifier Effect: Corrupts certain potions, allowing them to have the opposite (often negative) effect. Splash Water BottleIngredient: Gunpowder How to get: Killing Creepers, Ghasts, and Witches. Modifier Effect: Turns a normal potion into a Splash Potion. This explodes and spreads an effect when thrown. Lingering Water BottleIngredient: Dragon's Breath How to get: Use an empty bottle on the fireballs the Ender Dragon's breath attack leaves behind. Modifier Effect: Turns a Splash Potion into a Lingering Potion. This creates a cloud of that effect when thrown.Effect IngredientsEffect potions are made by combining Awkward Potions with different ingredients. You just need to put the Awkward Potion in the Brewing Stand, and add the relevant ingredient to it. Ensure there is still Blaze Powder lighting the stand, too, otherwise nothing will happen. Now you can then look at enhancing them or altering them. Here, we'll run through all of the effect potions, what ingredients you'll need, how to nab those ingredients, and which potions you'll likely need the most.Potion Of SwiftnessIngredients: Sugar How to get: Craft Sugar Cane. This potion makes you faster, which is important if you're planning on moving around a lot, want to rush through a drudgerous task, or if you're just very impatient. While Healing gives you a health boost at once, Regeneration keeps slowly restoring your health over time.Potion Of Turtle MasterIngredients: Turtle Shell How to get: Craft five Scutes, which can be obtained when baby turtles grow up. Unfortunately, this won't let you talk to the animals, grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals, but instead boosts defense while decreasing speed.Potion Of Slow FallingIngredients: Phantom Membrane How to get: Kill Phantoms. This is an enemy that spawns if you haven't slept for three days or longer. This potion will allow you to fall slower (hence the name), and also stops fall damage. Perfect for practising your superhero landing.Altering a potionYou can change effect potions brewing them with special items. These ingredients change how the potions work, and can even turn them into poisons and debuffs. If you know what you're doing, you can actually craft makeshift grenades, too. Effect: Turns a normal potion into a Splash Potion. This explodes and spreads an effect when thrown. Dragon's Breath How to get: Use an empty bottle on the fireballs the Ender Dragon's breath attack leaves behind. Effect: Turns a Splash Potion into a Lingering Potion.
