You will research your adopted volcano using at least three sources and identify the elements listed below.  You will also display your project with the requirements listed below. You will be working in groups of FOUR student.

What needs to be included in my project?

1.   Name and location of volcano: Be as precise as possible (State, Country, Longitude and Latitude location).

2.    Identify the type of volcano: Shield, composite, cinder-cone, other type?

3.   Write a 3 paragraph description of how this volcano formed.  Use your knowledge, class discussions, and additional resources to complete (paragraphs are 4-6 complete sentences).

4.   1 self –drawn, cross-section (interior and exterior) picture of your volcano with properly labeled elements: Elements must include: crater, vent(s), pipe, magma chamber, others?  Look throughout your notes and textbook as well as addition resources to complete. Rough sketches will be marked down extensively.

5.   An accurate timeline from the formation to present day. Included in this section are major eruptions and other important details and events that help someone understand the history of your volcano. Your timeline will move from left to right.  Start with a major event in the past and move up to present day.  You must be selective in your timeline. That is, do not include every event. 6-8 events would be a good rule of thumb
