Tuesday, 3 March 2015

Petal pushes Simon to tell Egg he's not a warrior, but Simon resists as he thinks Egg will blow the secret.

Meanwhile, the Mayor is in cahoots with a new gang, the V-teks, led by cocky young punk, Fury. He wants them to drive Mrs Chan out of business

by undercutting her DVD trade. Oblivious, Mrs Chan is excited about the latest DVD coming out - Fist Means War III - it's going to be a big

seller. The V-teks start selling pirate DVDs out the front of her shop, and Simon tries diplomacy to move them, but they won't budge.

Egg suggests Simon beat up the V-teks, but Simon still can't bring himself to tell Egg the truth and ends up rejecting him. Hurt, Egg is

intercepted by Fury, who tempts him with a pirate DVD. Egg can't resist, he is a former addict, and descends into a binge-watching spiral.

Simon and Petal confront the V-teks but their plan goes awry when Egg steals a hard-drive from the V-teks, with a bootleg copy of Fist Means

War III on it. Simon chases Egg, and Petal takes on the V-teks but she is knocked out. Simon finds Egg holed up in his room and realises that

his rejection pushed his friend back into addiction. Guilty, Simon confesses that he's an artist not a warrior. Stung at being lied to, Egg

attacks him and in the melee they accidentally damage the drive. Fury calls, he's kidnapped Petal and he wants the drive back or he's going to

hurt her.

On discovering the Fist Means War III file is corrupted, Simon and Egg come up with a plan to remake scenes from the movie.

Story Club

Wednesday, 4 March 2015 Final

Story Club is a comedy show with a difference. Think stand-up, but sitting down. Then add a narrative.

Sophisticated and hilarious, Story Club brings together Australia's finest raconteurs -including stand-up comics, novelists, journalists,

commentators, poets and musicians - to create an event that is both funny and unexpected.

Hand-picked from the live event of the same name, each episode of Story Club features two stories that are sometimes alarming and ultimately

revealing - but are always entertaining and always true.

Created by Zoë Norton Lodge and Ben Jenkins and held at the Giant Dwarf Theatre, the live event is a themed storytelling night where some of

Australia's best storytellers gather in front of an audience to reveal their funniest stories, darkest moments and their shameful secrets, all

while sitting in a stupidly ornate chair and reading from an awkwardly large book.

During series one, the storytellers will share stories about coming out, staging one's own death, mistaken identity and accidental assault,

cousin love, what it means to be Australia's favourite bastard and what happens when you revisit your travel diaries from 50 years ago.

As well as stories about drunken Santas and fraudulent Jamie Olivers, there are tales of sexy mishaps with cleaners, terrifyingly experimental

coppers, grandmas with axes to grind and geriatrics arm wrestling for beer.

The stories are vulnerable, they're confronting and they're damn funny.

Episode nine: Wednesday, March 4 at 10.30pm

Zoë Norton Lodge has her first forays into self-satisfaction, she just wishes the nice lady who cleans her mum's house didn't know all about

it; plus Alex Lee realises she came to be because her father didn't wear a shirt in the 70s.
