To help you remember what we’ve learned about the 5 major world religions, you will be making a flip-book. The lapbook will need to include all the following information for each of the major world religions:

• Map of the locations each of the 8 religions are found

• Timeline reflecting development of 8 religions and at least two key events in each.

• A flip-book for Western Religions and Easter Religions to include:

• Description and illustration of each religions: Origin, key beliefs (3 each), supreme being/ major holidays, ceremonies/ religious text/ important symbols & symbol meanings.

• Picture Pockets (2)

• Locate or illustrate and describe who founded (started) the religion and other

important people within the religion (at least 2 per religion)

• Tell where the followers worship, tell how the followers worship/ sacred location and why they are sacred (at least two per religion)

Make sure to write out the information in complete sentences and paragraphs.

Front Cover– Title and Map

The very first page or top of the flipbook is the title page. Let’s use “Origins of World Religions” as the title. Must include a complete map but otherwise color and decorate this page any way you like.

Left Flap Timeline-

You will use the timeline sheets given to you to complete the timeline. Use symbols to identify which religion and specify the event that occurs on the important dates for each religion

Right Flap Picture Pockets-

Additional information / Hints: Remember, Buddhists do not have one supreme being. Also, the ideas of the Buddha have been written down in many different books, so there is not really one religious book for Buddhists so make sure to explain that.
