|Getting Started | |
|The syndication service of F.A.Z. Archives offers you a fast, direct access|[pic] |
|to copyrighted content of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. | |
|If you want to publish an article in the internet, use it in your intranet,| |
|distribute it by e-mail/newsletter or reprint a text, you may get the | |
|permission via our online archives faz-archiv.de. This database also | |
|provides you with a digital version of the article. | |

|First you find the requested article by entering some words from the | |
|headline or text in the search screen. Start search by pressing the button | |
|“Suche”. | |
| | |
|You will get a list of corresponding articles quoting the title, date of |[pic] |
|publication, beginning of the text, the number of words and the price of | |
|the document. Graphs are indicated by a blue icon. Please note that | |
|photographs are not contained in the database. | |

|To select the right article, click the title or the HTML icon below. Please| |
|don’t choose the „Zeitungsseite“ (PDF version of the entire page) - you | |
|would not have access to the permissions service. | |

|Before the complete article is displayed, you have to decide how to pay the| |
|order. | |

|You will receive an invoice if you subscribe to our archives services. | |
|Registered customers (“registrierte Kunden”) just enter their user name | |
|(“Kennung”) and password to get access. You may register now (“Jetzt | |
|anmelden”) to receive your user name immediatly via e-mail. Subscribers opt| |
|for Premium conditions (16 Euros per annum, including 5 articles per month)| |
|or Business conditions (49 Euros per annum including 100 articles) – also | |
|see Angebot/Konditionen.) | |

|You may pay per use by credit card. Please don’t use T-Pay, which requires | |
|a registration of the Deutsche Telekom. | |

|After confirming the payment, you get the complete article (“Volltext”). On| |
|top of the text, you see a button „Nutzungsrechte“ (use rights) that leads | |
|you to the conditions of use. | |

|In the following chart, you select the usage that conforms to your |[pic] |
|intention. Just click at the option for digital or print reproduction – you| |
|may also combine several applications (e.g. internet and reprint in a | |
|book). | |
|Royalty fees depend upon the type of use and the duration of posting | |
|(“Nutzungsdauer”) resp. the print run/circulation (“Auflage”): | |
|Internet: Page Impressions indicate the average number of hits on your | |
|website in one month. We don’t grant an unlimited licence for publication. | |
|Intranet/Newsletter/E-Mail: Prices are based on the number of recipients | |
|for distributed material or the number of staff members with access to your| |
|intranet. Duration is also to be specified. | |
|Reprints („Nachdruck“): The fee is calculated on the print run („Auflage“) | |
|and the kind of publication (Press/CD/DVD, book...) “Sonderdrucke“ means | |
|promotional reprints of single articles, brochures and the like. Excerpts | |
|(“Auszug“) are only small parts of texts. Please note that the reprint | |
|licence only becomes effective with a delay of 48 hours. In case of | |
|revocation, we inform you by e-mail and your order will be cancelled. | |
|Enter the name of your publication in the space below the use options: Web | |
|address (URL), organisation of intranet, title of newsletter or | |
|book/magazine etc. | |
|Non-commercial organisations obtain a fee reduction of 50 %. Beneficiaries | |
|may mark the option below the chart („Meine Institution …“) | |
|Don’t forget to confirm our Terms and Conditions („Allgemeine | |
|Geschäftsbe-dingungen“), than click „Weiter“ (submit). | |

|In the next step you can choose the file format for download HTML, RTF or | |
|ASCII. A PDF version is not provided. | |

|The click on the file format opens the download service. Please save |[pic] |
|(“Speichern”) the ZIP file on your directory. | |

|The file contains the text of the article and possibly graphs. You also | |
|receive our logo which you need for the correct copyright note (full name | |
|of the source, date of publication; endorsement at the end of the article: | |

|Provided by Frankfurter Allgemeine Archiv”. In digital publications, a link| |

|After the download, you finish the procedure by click on the button | |

|To order additional articles, you can go back to the list of articles | |
