Top 10 Movies – Excel Assignment

PART 1

Press the contol key and click on the following website to find the Top 10 Movie information from last weekend:



Open Excel and type TOP 10 MOVIES- MO/DATE/YEAR – YOUR NAME in cell A1. Merge & Center this title in cells A1:G1.

Type the following titles in row 2. Using the above website you will find the data for each column.

A2: Movie Title

B2: Weekend Gross

C2: Number of theaters

D2: Theater Average

After typing all of the data into your spreadsheet highlight A2:D12 and change the font to Tahoma 10.

PART 2

1. Hold the Control key and highlight the name of the #1, #5 and #10 movies, as well as their weekend gross.

2. Go to Insert, Chart, Select a column graph-select any type graph

3. Select the Title tab and type:

4. Select the Legend tab and Deselect Legend

5. Stretch the graph using the black boxes in the corners

6. Double click on all of the text and change the font size to 8

7. Highlight the title and change it to font size 14 and BOLD

8. Repeat steps 2-9 with THEATER AVERAGE

This chart should be titled 11/19/10 – THEATER AVERAGE-YOUR NAME(use your weekend date)

PART 3

1. Move both charts directly below the spreadsheet and then click on a blank cell

2. Go to Print Preview – be sure you see the spreadsheet as well as the 2 charts

3. Go to File, Save As and save into your Excel folder
