Finding Top Selling Products in Any Category on Amazon

If you are going to feature and recommend products on your blog or website to make money with the Amazon Affiliate program then it makes sense to recommend the bestselling products. However, you want to stay with your niche. If you niche is about cooking then you don't want to recommend the best-selling vacuum cleaner just because it's the best seller. You would want to recommend something in your category. But you can also use the information on Amazon to find out what the top selling products are so you can build a niche around that. Lets take a look at the Home and Garden Category on Amazon:

Start by selecting the broad category Home, Garden and Pets and leave the search box blank and hit the go button. This is what your results will look like:

When you do this make sure the sort menu is set to Bestselling:

Most of the top selling products that come up first are Keurig coffee K-cups. Coffee would be a really competitive niche to work so scroll down to look for some other products. A lot of these best selling products sell for low dollar amounts, so I would keep scrolling down until I found something for over $100. When I did this the first item I came to was a vacuum cleaner. It as the 20th bestselling product on the page:

Next ? Click on any of the products and when the product page comes up scroll down the page to the product details. Look closely at the line ? Amazon bestsellers rank. Do you see the link that says Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #3 in Home & Garden (See Top 100 in Home & Garden)?

Click on that link

Click on that link and you will get a page that shows the Top 100 in all home and garden excluding pets. The page is too long to show you, but I will show you a section.

You can see that the Hoover is number 3 and a Eureka Floor steamer is number 4. When I scrolled down the page, I found 4 vacuum and floor cleaning products in the top 20 and a total of ten vacuums in the top 100. That tells me that a lot of vacuum cleaners sell on Amazon. That would be an excellent niche.

I did the same exercise in Kitchen & Dining and found that coffee and espresso makers made up 12 of the top 100. Water filters were 14/100 and blenders and related items were 9/100. Any of those would make good niches. You can do the same thing with any category on

If you use a web builder like XsitePro, where you can build quickie websites, you could set up one niche a day like this and within a few weeks you would have a dozen or more of these niche websites up and running.
