The 3 day “VOLUNTEER “working” period is part of our job application/hiring process. Volunteering this 3 day period does NOT guarantee you a job.What it will do is let YOU know what is required to do this job. Can you handle the cold/ heat, smells, noises, fast pace, big dogs, weigh requirements, stress of the job and the personalities of the existing staff.What it will do is give us a sense of YOUR work ethic, ability to work as a team, follow directions, self-motivation and your use of common sense.We will evaluate your ability to think on your feet, use of language, ability to deal with the public, both on the phone as well as in person and your overall attitude. At the end of your 3 day period your performance, as well as your attitude will be evaluated by the entire staff.Depending on the results of this evaluation, we will continue by conducting a personal interview. (Interviews will not be given to anyone who had not completed their “3 day volunteer” portion of the application) or let you know, that at this time we do not feel you are the right candidate for a job at the shelter.If you are hired and remain with us for 30 days you will be paid for your 1st day of “volunteering, 60 days the 2nd day and 90 days you will be paid for your 3rd day.If you are not hired, we thank you for volunteering.
