City of Corona Alternative Fuel Vehicle Rebate Program

Short Description:

Rebates of zero to $2,000 for the purchase of a new qualified alternative fuel vehicle or

$1,000 for a qualified used vehicle while funds last.

Beneficiary:

Taxpayer who purchases a qualified vehicle from an authorized auto dealer or broker and is a Corona

resident at the time of purchase

Effective Dates:

Cash rebates of up to $2,000.

Current benefit, until funds are exhausted.

Value of Benefit:

Rebates of up to $2,000 for the purchase of a new qualified alternative fuel vehicle or $1,000

for a qualified used vehicle while funds last. Applicants must fill out the eligible form (see link to form below).

Full Description:

The City of Corona set up the Alternative Fuel Rebate Program which offers eligible applicants $2,000 toward the

purchase of a new qualified vehicle with the original manufacturer's alternative fuel equipment or $1,000 toward the

purchase of a used qualified vehicle with the original manufacturer's alternative fuel equipment. Rebates apply only

to the purchase of a qualified vehicle and cannot be used with regard to leased vehicles. See link to the program

guidelines below.

Eligible applicants are those who are residents of the City of Corona at the time of the qualified vehicle purchase.

Qualified vehicles must be fueled exclusively with an alternative fuel, such as electricity. Accordingly, the Nissan

Leaf qualifies (see link to list of qualified vehicles below). Finally, the vehicle must be purchased from an auto

dealer or broker that is authorized to do business within the City of Corona (see link to list of authorized dealers

and brokers below).
