The steps used to explain said feature or process should not be construed as advice.TELLER BASICSTransaction Processing OverviewThe majority of the time will be spent on this screen. References to these areas will be made during training and in conversations thereafter.OverviewOnce you LogIn, the Transaction Processing Screen contains a designated area for everything you need while processing a transaction. There are 6 areas that flow with the day-to-day business process making simple to do a transaction without having to remember what you need to do next.Teller/Compass Tabs- Where you access Teller or View Compass Inquiry Drawer Sign On- Where you select your drawer and view related informationParent Transaction Window- Where you identify the customer and enter what they hand to you or what they want from youChild Transaction Window- Where you initiate a transaction for a specific acct numberTransaction Summary- Where your transaction(s) are held until you are done with that customerFunctions Toolbar- Where you can perform other functions Teller/Compass Tabs OverviewThe Teller and Compass tabs allow a user to toggle between using Cardinal Teller? and Cardinal Compass?. Offline IndicatorIf teller cannot connect to core, the word offline will be displayed on the top portion of the screen.Next Day IndicatorWhen working on Next Business Day, such as Saturday, Teller will display the next day pass TabDisplays the compass inquiry screen.Drawer Sign On OverviewThe Drawer Sign On allows you to select the appropriate Branch and Drawer.Signing OnIf not defaulted, select your Branch Id, Teller Id and Drawer Id from the dropdowns and then click OK. IMPORTANTAfter login into a drawer, the fields are disabled. To select them again, you must click on Quit (to exit the drawer you are using).Drawer is BalancedThe drawer balanced indicator appears immediately after the drawer is balanced and on the same date. Parent Transaction OverviewTransactor SearchThe parent transaction contains a summary of the entire transaction and it is used to balance your child transactions. It also contains information about the Transactor.Transactions TabTeller defaults to the Transactions tab which is used to process customer transactions. Each processed transaction will be composed of one Parent transaction and at least one Child transaction. Searching for a TransactorThe Transactor is the person in the bank. To search for his or her name, simply enter the first 3 or 4 characters of the person’s last name then TAB from the field.If you do not enter enough characters, the search screen will display as shown below.To continue with the search simply tab one more time to the […] and press enter to display a list of customers.Teller Retains the last search until you are done with the transaction or “Reset” (F2) this area. In the example below, I had already searched for “BOBBI JO QATRANSITCK” and his information had already populated but now want to search for someone else “Nonc.” To continue with the new search “nonc” simply TAB one more time to the […] and press Enter.Search Results & SelectionThe search results will be displayed in a grid format. You can select desired name using one of the following methods:TAB to highlighting desired then press enter Click to highlight desired one then click OK Double clicking on desired name. The customer CIS information will then be displayed immediately under the search field. IMPORTANTIf the customer name does not exist, the grid will not appear.Creating a Non CustomerCreating a Non-Customer CISTo process a transaction, Teller needs a CIS. The information to create the CIS is required ONE time and eliminates the need to ask for the information again the next time the customer comes in the bank. Without entering anything on the name search field click on the [ i ] then check the non-customer box. After clicking on “Non Customer” box, Teller will allow you to print and add the CIS. Click OK to create the CIS after required information has been entered. IMPORTANTCIS information cannot be altered or updated using Teller. Just like in core, the Social Security number is NOT required if you choose SS Type “N” Select the corresponding TIN Type. If you are not collecting the non-customer’s SS#, select “N” and leave the TIN# field empty or “O” if Non Resident Alien. Non-Cash DebitNon-Cash DebitAs the name implies, enter in this field the total of ALL items that are NOT cash. For example: Checks, Window withdrawals, Savings Bonds, Withdrawals from Savings, etc. You can either enter the amount or click on the “Calculator” (F10) to add up the items and save the total to this field. Using the calculator or F10 is recommended because Teller will retain a record of your calculator entries.Total Cash InTotal Cash InEnter in this field the total cash amount received from the customer or leave it blank then use the “Cash Count In” to add up the cash. If the cash count screen is required, it will appear immediately after you enter an amount and tab from the amount field. TAB to it to start entering cash OR click on the button with the dots […] to display the cash count screen. IMPORTANTThis cash in amount entered here is different than the one you will find inside the “Child Transaction.” This amount is the cash received from the customer. In the child transaction it is the cash portion of the deposit.Cash Count In/OutCash Count In and Out ScreenThe cash count in/out screen is very flexible. When the screen appears, simply TAB to start entering cash.You can enter either the amount of cash or the number of dollars/coins as shown below. After entering the cash, press enter.Expected amount: This is the amount that was entered on the actual “Cash In/Out” field. Counted amount: This is the total entered on screen. The color will remain red until it matches the “Expected Amount” Accept: Use this button to accept the “Counted Amount.” Click on this button if you left the “Cash In” field blank and you are counting the cash. Total Cash OutTotal Cash OutEnter in this field the total cash amount that will be handed to the customer. If the cash count screen is required, it will appear immediately after you enter an amount and tab from the amount field, otherwise, click on the button with the dots […] to display it. Enter cash amounts then press enter.Journal MessageJournal MessageAttach a note to the transaction by pressing [M] and entering the desired note, then press tab. The note can be viewed in the TRANDETP file.Autofill Check Cashing Cash Out7112043815000Autofill Check Cash OutsIn a capture environment, click on the [A] button to automatically pre-fill the cash out field for every check scanned. If several checks are being cashed, we recommend you group those checks and scan them together then press the [A] ,to auto populate the cash out.Credit – Debit and DifferenceCredit / Debit and Difference These fields keep up with what you have entered in the child transactions. Teller will allow you to process the transaction when both the credit and the debit total are the same.The Difference field displays the difference between the debits and the credits that have been added (Child Transactions).Remaining AmountAmounts Outside Credit and Debit Totals and Process Button These amounts display the Total Amount of Credit(s) and Debit(s) that is needed to balance the transaction. The “Process” button will be enabled when the total amount of credits and debits are the same.CaptureCaptureInitiates the capture process using a scanner attached to your PC(See Captured Transaction section)Child Transactions OverviewTeller will allow you to perform multiple transactions for the same Transactor without leaving the main transaction screen. While most of the fields are already familiar to you, below are highlights of some that are new.Transaction TypeThe child tabs display only the Transaction Types that are applicable to that tab. For example: The Credit tab displays only “Credit” Transaction Types. Account NumberEnter an account number or click on […] to search for one after entering a portion of the customer’s last name.Account Relationshipsand Account InformationAfter the account is selected, the available balance, primary’s CIS information and overdraft privilege and/or protection (if applicable), will be appear on the right side of the screen.Clicking on the “R” button to display the account relationships.AmountAmount – FeeAmount + FeeAnd FeeAmount is the amount of the transaction. For Example, if depositing $50.00 enter $50.00 in the amount fieldIf the Transaction type is setup with a fee, then the fee is either reduced from or added to the amount of the transaction.Fee is the fee amount that is set on the transactionAutofillTeller calculates the “Amount” using the information entered in the parent screen, and any credits and debits that have been added or applied.The amount can be changed at any time.Cash In orCash Out (Debit Tab)Amount of cash involved. For example, if making a deposit of $100 and $30 are cash, enter here $30.00 Check AmountIf you are depositing a transit check, enter here the amount of that check and Teller will automatically create the debit for the check. IMPORTANTRequires a Transit check transaction without a fee (see important configuration)Cash BackThis is the portion of cash that the customer wants back from cash that he/she gave you. Ex: Customer brings a $100 wants to deposit $80 and wants $20 back. This field is not the same as cash exchange, where the customer wants to exchange the entire amount.Core CodeTransaction codes that have been downloaded from core.This setting necessary for Capture environment banks and for banks using Loan Split codes.SourceUse the drop down to display the source of the transaction,MemoClicking on Memo, takes you to the Pending Transactions Tab and displays the pending transactions for the account. AddAdds the transaction until you are done assisting the customer and are ready to process. Debit Tab- Check #Check DateIs On-usAnd For MeCheck number and check date should be completed if the bank uses the positive pay feature. If an On-Us check, the “Is OnUs” will be automatically checked. Uncheck this box to run the check without verifying it against positive pay.When cashing a check where the Transactor will be benefiting from the funds, check the “For Me” box. In the event that a CTR is triggered, it will not include the account owner(s). For example: A payroll check. Supervisor OverrideUse this feature to approve transactions for Tellers before they are processed.Supervisor Overrides(Change)Request remote override by clicking on “Remote.” Teller displays the Request ID# and once approved click on “Check” to continue with the transaction. Shortcuts / Hot KeysUse this feature to quickly perform a process.TAB- Moves you to the next field or buttonF10- To Access the calculatorF2- To clear the screenF9- To process a transactionAlt- Underscores a letter for the Child Transaction Tabs. Press Alt and the underlined letter to go to that tab. Example: Alt T will display the Transfer tabIMPORTANT!To maintain uniformity across applications, move from one field to the next using the TAB key instead of the enter key. Transaction ScenariosIn this session, you will learn how to do one transaction under each child tab. Once you are familiar with each tab, you will be able to mix them by using more than one tab at a time.We recommend tickets are prepared first (Cash In, Cash Out, Deposit Slips, Withdrawal Slips, etc.) before entering the transaction in Teller. This will speed up the entering process in Teller.Credit Transaction (Alt+C)The Credit tab is used when the customer wants to make deposits, payments, etc.Scenario: Deposit with check(s), cash and cash backParentSearch for the Transactor by entering the first 3-4 letters of the last name then select it by tabbing and pressing enter or double clicking on the name.1] Press F10 to use the calculator to Add the checks or Non-cash items and save them to the Non-Cash Debit (F5)2] Enter the cash in amount then TAB to start entering the cash (forcing cash counts) or press […] then TAB to the $50.00 field. Enter $100 then press Enter3] Enter the cash-out amount then TAB to start entering cash (if cash count is forced) or press […] then TAB to the $20 field and enter $20 then press Enter. If nothing comes up, it means the customer does not have a CIS2] Click on [ i ] to trigger the non-customer formParentFields marked with an asterisk are required.1] Click on the NonCustomer box2] Enter required information3] Select N if you are not collecting a SS#. If you are collecting one, select INote from core CIS: SS#/TIN Code: I=Ind, T=Bus, A=Applied (Business), O=NonRes Alien, N=None4] Enter required information5] Select the ID type from the drop-down menu6] Enter required information7] Prints the form8] Creates the CIS9] When the CIS is created the non-customer information appears on the screen. Scenario: Sell a cashier check with a checkParent1] Search for the Transactor2] Enter the check amountNOTE: So that you have all your tickets on hand, and ready for Teller, print the Monetary Instrument first.MI(Print) Debit (Cust. acct) Credit (Bank acct)ChildComplete and Print the Cashier Check1] Date of purchase. The calendar defaults to current date.2] Select desired Transaction Type3] Enter the check’s serial Number4] Enter Pay To The Order Of and Remitter Information5] Amount of cashier check. 6] Cash In- If any portion of the cashier check is being purchased with cash, enter that amount here.7] Displays Fee added to the amount. To waive the fee being charged, clear this field. Because each transaction is captured at the window, batches are turned off in a Capture environment. Scenario- Batch Check(s)Batch Tab1] Match your checks to the list of checks in the batch2] The total of your checks should match this total. 3] Click on Print Detail to have a record of the checks in the batch 4] Teller keeps up with changes but Refresh if necessary.5] Click on Batch Out IMPORTANTWhen depositing on-us checks (using the debit tab, make sure that the batch transaction type is not selected.If you are setup to print Cash Tickets using the Parent Transaction, a prompt for a cash-out will come up. You should press “Cancel.” Journal TabIf you view the printed journal, it will read Batch Out.Note: We recommend Tellers “Batch Out” before moving from one station to another.Captured TransactionIf your bank runs a “Teller Capture” environment, the capture button will be enabled. Use this button to scan physical items. If you do not have a physical item, Teller will create a virtual item.Capture 1] Place items in the scanner and then click Capture (the CSPI window will appear) and the items will start running through the scanner automatically2] Correct amounts (if any)3] Correct account numbers (if any)4] Click to add other checks5] Click on Capture CompleteNote: Currently available with CSPICapture1] If you have multiple Transaction Types using the same Transaction Code, select a transaction type.2] If all items scanned use the same Transaction Type, check this box.3] Click OKTransaction Processing1] The item(s) scanned appear with a small scanner image2] The total amount of non-check items is displayed in the “non-cash debits”3] The transaction is still not in balance. Notice the credit and debit amounts are the same and the amounts outside the credit and debit fields are $0.002] Click on [Process] or press F9IMPORTANTTeller does a “packing call” at a pre-determined time to send the transactions for processing. Reversals of transactions after processed, are done in Teller as usual, hoewever, you have to make the transaction inactive in the CSPI software.Journal TabThe journal contains information about the daily activity organized by the business date and sequence (order in which they happened).Journal Tab1] Click on the Journal tab2] By default, Teller will show the parent transaction that is why the sequence numbers appear to skip numbers.3] Double click on the parent transaction to view the child transactions4] Select a transaction and then click on Reverse. IMPORTANTThe parent transaction is also reversed if you reverse a child transaction.
