Overview

Write an essay on one of the following topics:

1. Chronicle and analyze Elie’s dehumanization.

2. Chronicle Elie’s changing attitude towards God and religion

3. Identify different stages of Elie’s relationship with his father

4. Discuss the idea of “complacency” throughout the novel.

5. Discuss the significance of “night” in the book.

6. Examine the significance of minor characters and how they reflect Elie’s journey.

7. Make your own. (MUST confirm with teacher. Any unconfirmed essay topics will result in a 0.)
