This week we would like you to complete the following work.PhonicsWe recommend that your child reads daily to an adult. You can use their reading book or any books you have at home. In addition please complete the following phonics activities by clicking on the underlined links. Play Alien Escape or you could search through Phonics Bloom for a phase more suited to your child’s understanding. We were working within phase 3 and 4.Read the words and point to the matching animal on Spring at the farm, select Level 2 or 3. Re-cap the sounds ai, ee, igh, oa, oo/oo. You could make your own flashcards, and then think of words with these sounds in them. E.g. rain, week, night, goat, book, food. Tricky WordsTricky words are really important for your child to learn. Please read and spell the following tricky words daily. Sing along to the Tricky Word Song Practice writing the following tricky words: he, her, you, myYou could then think of a sentence to say or even write using these words E.g. I like her green dress.NumberCounting and ordering numbers should be done daily. Keep your maths brain busy by having a go at the following activities:424307064071500Lego/bricks ordering. Make towers of different amounts up to 10. Then mix them all up. How quickly can you re-order them from 1-10 just by looking at the size of the towers? Can you then suggest one more and one less. You could then challenge yourself up to 20. Missing numbers. Create a numberline 1-20 on separate cards. Then your adult can take out and hide a number. Do you know the missing number?One More/One less. Using 3 cups/jars. Place an amount 388413743815000of something in the middle jar. E.g. sweets/marbles/counters or just the number on pieces of paper. Then in the jar to the left, say or select one less. And in the jar to the right say or select one more. You could use a dice to randomly select the middle number.Physical DevelopmentPhysical exercise is really important, so this week let’s Dance! Have a go at the following:Learn and dance along to ‘Shake it off’ on the Zumba Kids video Or, chose your favourite song and see if you can keep dancing, jumping around, twisting, and moving for the whole song. You could even make stick puppet farm animals to go with it. Memory Pairs Game- You could make your pairs game by cutting out small cards and drawing a farm animal on each. Make sure you have two of each animal. To play, turn them upside down and then take turns to turn over two cards. If they match, you keep them.
