Reiki and Self-care-This group series will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the healing practice of Reiki. Participants will learn soothing tools and strategies for self-care.

Payment for Wellness Collaborative Groups:

If a client has Medicaid, Wellness groups are fully covered. If a client has Medicare or private insurance, we will work with you to bill the insurance company. We also have a sliding fee scale for clients without insurance and we will work out an affordable payment plan.

The Wellness Collaborative of Washington County Mental Health Services is dedicated to a holistic approach to health and wellness, supporting individuals through the stress of daily life.

What is the Wellness Collaborative?

The Wellness Collaborative offers self-care tools and strategies to individuals who are suffering from symptoms of stress in their daily life. All of our wellness groups are trauma informed and aim to support a sense of empowerment and self-sufficiency through a holistic approach to health, balance and recovery. These groups are available to all clients of WCMHS and anyone on the wait list for services. All groups are open to all genders.Try something new in support of you!

Self-care and Stress Reduction Drop-in Group: This group will provide information about different forms of stress-reduction (such as yoga, meditation, art, Reiki), as well as explore tools and strategies for lowering stress levels in daily life. This is an on-going drop-in group and no pre-registration is required.

Introduction to Mindfulness: This group will teach experientially based mindfulness techniques that focus on the human senses. These techniques can be used at home or in everyday situations to increase self-understanding, and help participants better manage difficult experiences and stress in their daily life. A time commitment is not necessary to join, but each group runs in a 6 week series.

When: Monday 1:45-3 pm

Chair Yoga for Chronic Pain: Explore gentle, mindful movement to reduce pain and improve mobility. Explore breathing strategies to calm and focus the mind. Learn about the relationship between stress and pain. Participants will come away from this group with simple tools to ease pain in their everyday life. This practice is done with the support of a chair and is suitable for those with physical limitations. No prior yoga experience needed!

When: Thursdays from 1:00-2:15 pm

Yoga for Stress Relief: Explore tools and strategies from the yoga tradition to help you reduce stress in your daily life. This class uses mindful movement (postures), breathing practices, and guided relaxation to help participants become more self-aware and capable of managing stressful thoughts and emotions. This group uses a yoga mat and participants should be able to move comfortably from floor to standing. No prior yoga experience needed!

When: Thursdays from 4-5:15 pm

Narrative Art Journaling Group: Come learn art journaling techniques and express yourself creatively! Learn a different art technique every week and learn how art journaling can help increase well-being and reduce stress. No art experience necessary!

A Cup of Calm: Herbal Teas for the Nervous System:This group will provide information and experientially based techniques for tea drinking as mindfulness based practice. Participants will explore the ritual of tea and the benefits of herbs for the nervous system. Each week a different herbal plant will be discussed and used in a tea.
