23 Things… PPS Style

A Professional Development Opportunity

For PPS LMS

Information, communication, and Library Media Centers go hand-in-hand. This “23 Things… PPS Style,” a derivation of Stephen Abram’s 43 things and Helene Blower’s 23 things, serves as a springboard to launch you into a world where you can explore and play with online resources and tools that will help you to think about information and communication in new ways. Learning to use these resources will help you to develop personally and professionally. Some of the resources included here are purchased by the district, and others are freebies, made available through the wonderful world of web 2.0.

This is a self-directed, professional development opportunity where you are encouraged to explore and play. Go ahead! Try it! Work together with co-workers to discover the treasures available to you. The goal of this is for you to recognize the value of web 2.0 resources and tools as means to improve teaching and learning. Will you like every tool? Yeah, right…who are we kidding? But maybe, just maybe, you will find something that sparks some interest. And who knows… this just might whet your appetite and launch you in a whole new direction. If you can walk away with a few things that make a difference in the education of our students, then it’s worth it.

The task is simple. Check it out, play, reflect. Use the table to work through the 23 things. Jump around on the table and complete things in any order that suits you. Complete the tasks as described on the wiki: . Download and update the tracking document as you complete each piece. Upload and share. Reap the rewards. It will be well worth the effort. Have fun!
