Board of Health Meeting MinutesThe regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 700 East Oak Street, Canton, via WebEx.President Dr. Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM with members Brown, Dr. Stinauer, Schell, Kessel, Leffler, Dr. Gowda, and Hollenbeck present. Staff attending the meeting were Hiett, Lynn, Rose, and Thompson. January 2020 minutes were presented. Judy Brown motioned to approve the minutes with Dr. Gowda seconding the motion. All ayes, motion passed. There were no public comments.Katie Lynn gave the financial reports for the month of January, February, March, and April. Schell made a motion to approve January financial reports with Brown seconding. All ayes motion passed. Dr. Gowda made a motion to approve February with Brown seconding, Schell made a motion to approve March with Brown seconding and Schell made a motion to approve April with Dr. Gowda seconding. All ayes, motion approved. Financial Reports placed on file. New Business-No new BusinessOld Business: -No Old BusinessDivision Reports:Family & Community Health Services – Louise Hiett gave a brief rundown of everything going on with the COVID 19 response. At this time there are 10 positive cases in Fulton County. She gave a description of what happens when we get a positive and how things proceed after that. We have distributed PPE to various agencies, as we are a pass-through agency. The state of Illinois has improved their testing ability dramatically. Tests reported for today, Tuesday May 19, 2020 was 18,000 tests. In our Grant Keime office staff has worked very hard to come up with methods to keep employees and clients safe while they are in the homes for chore housekeeping and medication management services.We are continuing to meet goals of the FY2020 grants and begin to write grants for FY2021. Environmental Health Division – Had a routine January and February. There has been a halt on Food inspections. Have done limited well and septic inspections using social distancing. We have a hired a program assistant to help with West Nile surveillance, and are going to hire a new Environmental Health Practitioner in the near future. Dental Clinic- We are only doing emergencies at this time, due to the COVID-19 virus and the limitations set by the State.Administrator’s Report- We were able to write for a grant for the COVID Response. At this time the FCHD building is locked. If a person absolutely has to come in the building they have to have their temperature taken and wear a mask. We have installed a locked drop box and have a pick-up/drop-off window. We have a person stationed at the window all day. This has been working at well for most of our programs. We will be working on the I-Plan which is due in August. Presidents Report- Dr. Phillips commended Katie, Louise and staff on doing a great job during this pandemic. He also encouraged us to keep up the social distancing and pushing out the education on social distancing.Laura Kessel made a motion to adjourn at 7:41 P.M. Respectfully submitted,R. U.
