Dear University City High School Teams and Booster Clubs:

The Centurion Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the UCHS Athletics Teams, Clubs, Students and Families. Through the Grant Program, the Foundation is able to provide monetary support for needs that may not currently be available in your budget. It is able to do so as a result of direct donations and fundraising activities. The Foundation hopes that each of you will join and urge others to support the Centurion Foundation so that we can continue these great endeavors.

To apply for a grant from the UC Centurion Foundation, your Team, Club or Department must be an active participant with the Centurion Foundation. An Active Participant is defined as a minimum of $100 in the Centurion Foundation account and attendance at general board meetings as noticed by a representative (doesn't have to be head coach or club advisor) throughout the school year.

As you think about your idea or project, keep in mind the following criteria with which we will use to evaluate your proposal:

Number of Students Impacted: a grant affecting 10 students would not rate as highly as one affecting 100.

Degree of impact on the Students: The value and improvement offered over already available resources.

School Contribution: Amount UCHS contributes to your team/club and annual cost to run program.

Longevity of the Project: Items that last just one year would not rate as highly as materials that could be used over 5-10 years.

Practicality: Measures whether the project is realistic and "do-able", or likely to suffer from problems like lack of training, difficulty of coordination, etc.

Cost Effectiveness: The cost per pupil or the "bang for the buck."

Innovation: Is your proposal a new or creative solution to a common problem? Are you thinking "outside the box?"

Collaboration: The degree to which the grant involves or promotes collaboration and cooperation among different classes, grades or schools.
