Service Announcement

30 August 2004 - Bank Holiday

The purpose of this Service Announcement is to remind you that the JSE and Dutch Trading Service (DTS) markets will be open on the next UK Bank Holiday on 30 August 2004. The impact of this is provided below.

Impact of JSE and DTS Markets being up on a UK Bank Holiday

Customers should be aware of the following:-

• UK market customers should ensure that their systems do not automatically logon and attempt to enter messages on this date.

• Messages entered against UK markets will be rejected with an Invalid Command Response (5IC). The session Advisory Code will be set to E023E (Invalid Message Discarded):

- If customers do logon and receive 5IC messages, they should ensure that their systems do not resend their original messages throughout the day.

- Any rejected transactions that need to be re-entered on the next business day on which the LSE Market is operating as usual will need to be re-allocated unique message reference numbers.

• No orders will be expired, or trades will be published in UK markets over the Bank Holiday.

• No LSE Market reference data or rule changes will be actioned on the Bank Holiday.

• JSE and DTS Market reference data may be broadcast via Broadcast Data Groups (BDGs) B10 and B11.

• All other 'LSE Market Specific' BDGs will contain idle poll messages only.

• Only indices supporting JSE markets (BDGs J51 and N04) will be disseminated. No other indices will be disseminated.

• The CDS environment will be available for all markets, however support will only be provided for markets for which it is a normal business day.
