BACKGROUND AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), share one Division for Management. UNOV manages and implements numerous programmes of the United Nations and provides common services, such as conference services, information services, security and safety services, procurement services, and general support services. UNODC supports both organizations with financial resources management services, human resources management services, and information technology and communications services. Approximately 1,200 UNOV/UNODC staff are based in Vienna.

UNOV/UNODC will migrate most of its headquarters-based staff from Microsoft Office 2003 and Windows XP operating system to Office 2010 and Windows 7 by the end of January 2013. Due to the fundamental changes in the menu structure, Information Technology Section (ITS) and the Staff Development Unit (SDU), Human Resource Management Section, have agreed to implement a training plan to aid staff during the migration process.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

Under the supervision of ITS training coordinate, and Chief, Staff Development Unit, the applicant will be requested to deliver MS Office 2010 and Windows 7 software training in English. This will include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, MS Visio, and Windows 7. The initial plan is to deliver workshops on all the afore mentioned applications, in 6 hour courses (3 modules of 2 hours), with the objective to have staff members understand clearly how the applications have changed in the Office 2010 version, including the menu structure and functionality. The overall objective of the training programme is to increase productivity as well as confidence of the staff in their day-to-day work.

During approximately 18 weeks over the period 15 October 2012 to March 2013, excluding 24 December till 6 January, the consultant will be requested to deliver up to two six-hour courses per week. The exact plan will be devised in collaboration with the trainer, remuneration will be subject to actual delivery, where a minimum number of registered participants will be required, and confirmed one week prior to the start date of the course.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Several years of experience in delivery of MS Office adult learning training in English is required. The applicant must have proven experience in delivering adult training for groups, in a multi-cultural environment and or for international organizations. Fluency in English is required, with good communication skills. The candidate should be able to operate in an international working environment. Microsoft Certified Trainer certification is an asset.
