1. The French and Indian War began because both Britain and France believed they owned the area known as the Ohio River Valley.

2. What caused the British to take action against the French?

France sent soldiers to the Ohio Valley to drive out British traders and began building a line of forts.

3. The colonists were angered by the taxes because they had no say or, representation in Parliament.

4. The act in which British soldieries were to be housed or quartered in colonists’ homes was known as the Quartering Act or a part of the Intolerable Acts.

5. A formal meeting of representatives is known as a congress.

6. The Albany Plan of Union was set up to unite the colonies. All colonies were present except Georgia.

7. What was the major cause of General Braddock’s defeat?

Braddock and his solders tried to fight in the open, while the French and Indians fired at them from behind trees and boulders.

9. What was the Treaty of Paris?

The Treaty ended the war and Britain gained Canada, Florida, and land between the Appalachian Mountains and the Mississippi River.

10. What caused Chief Pontiac’s Rebellion?

Chief Pontiac wanted to stop the British from taking over the hunting lands.

11. The Proclamation of 1763 said that

British colonists could not buy land west of the Appalachians from the Indians, hunt it, or explorer it. Settlers already living there were to leave at once.

They met to discuss the ways the colonies should respond to the growing threat from the British.

The British went to Concord to arrest Hancock and Adams and find the weapons the Minutemen had stored. Paul Revere was responsible for warning the colonists along with William Dawes, and Samuel Prescott.

Do you agree that they are being treated unfairly and should revolt, or do you think they should remain loyal to the king? Back your opinion up with facts and details from what we have learned.
