Hi! I’m Mrs. Rodzen 414337588265Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am excited to work with you this upcoming school year even though it may look different. I know that we will tackle any challenges together as a team; the key is to stay positive!I am married to my awesome husband, Chris. We have a daughter, Chloe, who is in first grade and a son, John, who is 2 years old (He’s the little stud in the photo with me). They take up most of my free time, but some hobbies that I enjoy are cooking, exercising, and reading!I graduated from Montclair State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, minor in History, and a Teacher of English Certification. Additionally, I have earned my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Adolescent Literacy from Concordia University - Portland. This will be my 12th year teaching. Throughout my career, I have taught at the 7th and 8th grade levels. I absolutely love teaching 7th grade! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion for my subject so that my students develop a desire to become lifelong learners. I look forward to meeting you and a great year together!A few of my favorites:Color: BlueSeason: FallFood: ThaiDrink: Coffee!Song: “Higher Love” by Kygo & Whitney HoustonBook: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark TwainMovie: The Blind SideSport: Hockey (NJ Devils)/Football (NY Giants)Hi! I’m Mr. Haines 43910257620Teaching is something that I’ve always wanted to do. I come from a family of educators, and have been around education for so long that I’ve fallen in love with it. While there are always challenges, and this year may be under strange and unfortunate circumstances, I look forward to overcoming these obstacles together with the wonderful seventh grade team and my students. I graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor’s degree in History Secondary Education. I am currently working on my Masters of Educational Instruction through The College of New Jersey’s Regional Training Center. This will be my third year teaching seventh grade social studies, which is a class called Global Studies. It is such a great opportunity to help students explore the world around them, and learn new things about people’s cultures, and political systems around the world that they may have not known before. I also get to teach the Civics cycle, which is a passion of mine. Regardless of political affiliation, I think it is extremely important for everyone to know how the political system works.A few of my favorites:Color: OrangeSeason: SummerFood: KoreanDrink: Lemon Lime SeltzerSong: “Giorgio by Moroder” by Daft PunkStudy Song: “Rhapsody in Blue” by George GershwinBook: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas AdamsAnother Book: The Way of Kings by Brandon SandersonMovie: Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Dark Knight, and almost every PixarSport: Gymnastics/ Fencing Hi! I’m Miss Domanski 4000500254000When I was younger my teachers always asked me the typical question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Believe it or not, I knew from third grade that I wanted to become a teacher. The path down that road was not always easy. I have taught kids of various ages how to swim over the summers, worked at an abbott preschool program, and interned in grades K, 3, 6, and 8. Finally, after many mentorships later I discovered my love for middle school, specifically science! At HBW I hope to inspire a love of science in all my students and enable many creative ways to problem-solve. I think it is important for students to inquire why things work and how they work while collaborating with each other to discover new parts of the world. I am excited to meet all the inquisitive students of HBW and make science learning fun this year!In 2018 I graduated from Rutgers University-New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 2019 I graduated from the RU Graduate School of Education with my Master of Education degree and NJ certifications in K-6 Elementary School, 5-8 Middle School Science, and K-12 Special Education. While this isn’t my first year teaching, it will be my first year teaching seventh grade science and oceanography. I am excited to get the year started and work through all the challenges the 2020-2021 school year may bring!A few of my favorites:Color: GreenSeason: FallFood: Avocado Toast or Blueberry PierogiDrink: Starbucks CoffeeSong: “Mr. Brightside” by The KillersBook: Harry Potter 1-7 by J.K. I’m Ms. McMinnAs a child, I always had an inkling of wanting to be a teacher, but it was several teachers that I had in middle school who inspired me to pursue this rewarding career. Middle school is a time for change and growth, and I am grateful that I have the opportunity each day to support, nurture, challenge, and inspire my students. I attended William Paterson University as an undergraduate, and I earned a Master’s Degree in Reading with my reading specialist certification from Montclair State University. This is the start of my 8th year of teaching. Although this year looks different, I know that if we work together, we can have a successful year. I am excited to see the amazing and creative work my students produce. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, catching up on reading, and playing with my pets. I have a dog named Lancelot and two cats, whose names are Puck and Sabrina. I’m Mrs. Kane4219575114300I have always loved helping people, and I think that is what drew me to teaching. Although I have not always been a teacher, I feel I have always been a learner, a supporter, and a helper - whether as a tutor when I was going to school myself, to solving business problems and designing software systems as a computer science consultant, to being a Girl Scout troop leader. I truly enjoy helping others learn and discover, and gain confidence in their own abilities.I attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. All my electives at RPI were in education and student teaching. I am a married mother of two wonderful children who are in high school and middle school. We have a pet dog named Peanut, and two guinea pigs named Max(ine) and Ruby. We have many food allergies in our home, starting with my daughter’s allergy to peanuts and tree nuts. For my son and I, we can not eat gluten, dairy, or eggs. It can be a challenge sometimes but we find our joy and treats in other ways. We love going to the shore, and so missed our trip to Wildwood Crest this summer. I love movies, especially superhero movies, comedies, and science fiction.A few of my favorites:Color: red, no blue….
