July 11, 2017

Dear Parents & Guardians,

School has just let out but we are already gearing up for the 2017-2018 school year! Our tech assistants have been busily working on devices to make sure we get them back in student’s hands as soon as possible. This coming school year, all students in grades 6-12 will have access to a 1:1 device. Over the summer, we will be offering parents and guardians of students in grades 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12 the opportunity to schedule appointments to pick up their child’s device at the high school. Students in grades six and nine will have opportunities to pick up their devices at the end of the summer. Parents and guardians can go to the Upper Perkiomen School District website, click on technology and 1:1 initiative in order to sign up to pick up the student device. The following checklist outlines the steps that need to be taken prior to arriving for the device pick-up:

✓ Sign up to pick up your student’s device at Upper Perkiomen High School over the 2017 summer.

✓ Review and complete the UP Learns Agreement for Use in Skyward. Parents can find this form under parent access- online forms in skyward.

✓ Review Acceptable/Responsible Use Policy, Internet Essentials Program Information, Parent/Student FAQ Document and Digital Citizenship Overview found on the district website.

✓ Provide payment to tech assistant at the time of your appointment in the form of cash, check (payable to Upper Perkiomen School District) or online payment through School Café ($35 for UPMS students, $50 for UPHS students). Online payment will be available on July 19th. Please do not attempt to pay online before that date.

✓ Guardian and student attend scheduled summer appointment at UPHS with log-in credentials and receive device for the 2017-2018 school year. Please check in with the main office secretary before proceeding to your appointment with the tech assistant.

We highly encourage middle school and high school families to make an appointment to pick up the student’s device over the summer months at Upper Perkiomen High School. District and building administrators continue to work to make sure that the device distribution process is as streamlined as possible. Thank you for your prompt attention and consideration. Have an enjoyable summer!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Allison Stephens
