Pamela PughDr. Pamela Pugh is the owner of Regeneration LLC, a business which serves as a catalyst for economically sustainable and healthy urban communities by assisting public agencies, organizations, and businesses in building capacity through effective operations and winning partnerships. Prior to starting this business, she was employed by the Saginaw County Department of Public Health for 14 years. She received a Doctorate of Public Health (DrPH) from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Florida A&M University. Pamela’s previous work includes being at the forefront of the fight to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in Michigan. Her current work includes projects aimed at fostering the wellness of young children by addressing systems and programs that involve the physical, social, and emotional aspects of their development. Pamela’s research entails development of an instrument to assess and identify households and neighborhoods that pose the greatest environmental health risk to children. She has been appointed to numerous boards and policy development workgroups aimed at improving the quality of life for children and families which include the Governor’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Task Force, the State Environmental Justice Workgroup, National Institute of Health (NIH)-funded Midwest Consortium for Hazardous Waste Workers Training Advisory Board, Michigan Conference NAACP Health Chair, and past Vice Chair of the Michigan Environmental Council (MEC) Board of Directors. Pamela is a two-time recipient of the NAACP Dr. Montague Cobb Award for special achievement in social justice, health justice, health education and promotion, fund-raising and research. ................
