To reduce exposure and spread of COVID-19 we are currently only to attend normal work premises when necessary to deliver Defence outputs, in accordance with Defence Attache direction and Reference A. Furthermore, PUS has directed (Reference B) that in such circumstances where personnel plan to enter the workplace a COVID-19 workplace assessment must be conducted by the Line Manager.BDSUS Service, civilian and contractor personnel are to be assessed using the (BDSUS tailored) MOD checklist at Annex A. The assessment considers symptoms, exposure and high-risk individuals and those they co-habit with (such as families). Annex A must be:completed by all Line Managers who have people attending the workplace; completed upon receipt for any activity being undertaken by military, civilian and contractor MOD personnel at the workplace;account for what should be considered now and reconsidered when circumstances change, as instructed by higher authority;retained locally by the line manager for at least 1 year following completion, and submitted to HYPERLINK "mailto:BDSUS-IHUB@.uk" BDSUS-IHUB@.uk for record-keeping, copied to the subject as proof of assessment. This will also inform the required BDSUS assurance assessment to HOCS. If the task is being undertaken by a group, the assurance (and one single form) can be conducted as a group. One assessment (and one single form) can also be completed for re-occurring activity unless there is a change in risk. The subject of the assessment is to be detailed on the form along with the assessing line manager’s details. No medical information is to be recorded on the assessment. Electronic signatures are enough so long as the process at 2d. is met. The assessment must include any requirement to provide and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), particularly in areas exposed to high traffic and personal interaction (such as a customer counter). PPE required for business purposes is to be provided at public cost and should be sourced through the Embassy Management Team.6.This guidance will be kept under review to ensure it reflects the evolving situation and advice from UK/US authorities. Assessments around risk to individuals may continue to be a factor for entering the workplace during transition to business as normal and individuals at increased risk of severe illness (or with household members in this category) should consider what this may mean for them in the weeks ahead. The Management Board will work with the BEW Senior Leadership to ensure a clear and well communicated plan for re-opening BEW Washington when appropriate.DCOSAnnex:A.BDSUS COVID 19 Workplace Assurance Assessment FormAnnex ABDSUS COVID 19 Workplace Assurance ChecklistDetails of individual(s) Entering the Workplace and Task(s) to be PerformedRank/Title(s):Name(s) Staff/Service Number:Role/Unit/Location:Task to be performed from workplace:Assurance QuestionYes/NoNext Steps to Take Is the TASK being undertaken in the workplace in response to COVID-19 and/or another defence output?
