To further define your category of business or organization on our web site, , please provide 8 keywords for our search engine. Exact spelling is the only way it recognizes the keyword, it does not recognize phrases. If you put in wedding for example and did not also put weddings, the search engine would only locate those items with the word wedding. If you write (S) after the keyword, both the plural and singular word will be input as well.

Chamber 2011 Committees

Sunday Morning Crab Revival

A Committee to create a new portion of the Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival. This committee will work with Scott Nagel and Russ Veenema to provide the help to organize the music, food, volunteers and actual Sunday morning non-denominational church service all based on the theme of the “Bounty Of The Sea”.

Chamber WEB education committee

A committee to help with the very important presentations regarding the chamber web site and the new business tools associated with this site. Initial training will be done by Vanessa & Russ and throughout the year there will be seminars scheduled for members to attend which will be presented by committee members. Also committee members can assist with one on one business presentations when needed. The new Chamber Master WEB enhancements provide powerful sales tools for chamber members and the information as to how to use them will be the primary purpose of this committee.

Membership growth and development committee

A committee to help with the sales of chamber membership. Chamber membership fluctuates yearly but seems to stay between 500-550. There are many businesses and individuals in town that would join but simply need to be talked to about the benefits of being a chamber member and invite them to participate. This committee will brainstorm about how to do this sales effort and participate in the sales presentations.

Social/After Hour committee

For 2011 the chamber has stopped hosting the monthly Business After Hours events due to declining attendance and cost. Since this announcement there has been a renewed interest to come up with a social/networking themed activity for the membership. This committee will help come up with the ideas for the activities and also coordinate the events.

Ambassador Committee

This long running committee is the PR arm of the chamber. Ribbon cuttings, ground breakings, and grand openings are their specialty but the committee can also branch off to other areas if the interest is there. Right now the group meets once per month for lunch which is a combination of a social networking and also a discussion as to what events are coming up for the group to assist with.

Concert On The Pier band selection committee

Each spring the chamber puts out the casting call for bands to play at the summer Wednesday evening Concert On The Pier series. The decisions are tough to select only 12 bands but the end result seems to work out well. Only one or two meetings take place each year and usually they occur in April.

Tourism event and special project grant committee

This committee reviews the applications that are used to promote these tourism related features in town. This committee meets once or twice in the early winter and spring and is full for 2011. Sign up would be for the 2012 committee.

Customer Service/Customer relations committee

This committee will have the focus of researching customer service training needs and help implement presentations within the community. Working to develop a “secret shopper” program to help businesses better understand the areas that are working well or need improvement within their business could also be a role this committee plays.

Ride The Hurricane Committee

This is a committee to help organize and detail this August 7 event. Committee members will help coordinate registration, parking, sponsor and vendor presentations, aide stations, volunteers, and of course making the riders feel welcome.

$500,000 Hole In One Committee

This event is a joint fundraiser for the chamber and the Olympic Medical Center Foundation. If you enjoy golf or simply are fascinated with the long odds of someone making a hole in one this committee is for you. The event occurs over the weekends of August 19-21 and August 26-28 at Peninsula Golf Club, SkyRidge Golf Course, and Cedars At Dungeness, with the finals occurring September 10 at Cedars. Committee members will assist with gathering of prizes needed for the event, help staff the holes for collecting money and measuring closest to the pin and help with raising awareness of the event leading up to the qualifying rounds.

Chamber Golf Tournament Committee

September 9 at Peninsula Golf Club the chamber has a fun day of golf with the added benefit of it being a fundraiser for the chamber. The committee will assist with sponsor sales, volunteering the day of, and helping sponsors with set up and take down.
