District 11 Meeting being held Thursday May 3, 2007Edgewater HotelPresent: Clark Coole, Pete Hill, Denise Woods, Shari Olson, Jerry Demeo, Christian Koelling, Tim Miller,Dave Anderson – Pointstreak application used right at the scorekeepers box that keeps the stats and scores live. Stats are kept by Pointstreak League administrators have their information right at the end of the game and does not have to chase down the score sheet.Approval of the minutes from the Fall 2006 meeting. 2 changes Duluth Bantam B2 Districts. 5th Girls Scheduling meeting held Oct 30 not Oct 20th. Motion made to approve with changes by Clarke 2nd by Gordon Thorne. Treasurers report.1491.02 in check book. Table the treasurers report until such time the treasurers report can be recalculated and sent out and approved at the next meeting . Craig Schmitz from Carlton made a motion to table the report Wade LeBlanc from Silver Bay 2nd Motion Carried. PeeWees play off games with 1- 8 minutes period. Committee Reports – Tournaments – Getting the Tournaments registered on time with no late fees. Coaching – Classes possible to set in October. Christian will be going to New York then will be start planning for the next season. Christian would like to see a level 4. Pete will send out a survey asking when coaches would like to see classes and if any one is interested in the Level 4. Steve Carroll is looking to have a class for coaches that would be for recertification of level 3. Girls Report – Change the U12B District 12 will be hosting Regional. U14A Regional will be hosted in District 16. U12A will be hosted in District 11 . Host girls coordinators meeting. Last year in our District we had U10 in Duluth, Twig, Moose Lake and 2 in Cloquet. Anyone who may be interested in helping the girls programs in associations trying to start up. Next year the spring will develop like the boys section teams. Is it possible to start U8 teams in the areas.Referees- down 2 ? percent. Good news for Minnesota. District 11. Moose Lake Oct 14 8am Hermantown Oct 28 8amSilver Bay Nov 1- 5pm.Increase in fighting increased at the Bantam Level. District 11 was down by 20 players from the previous year. NE Hockey Association – Jeff Westermann New scheduler Dwayne Matisti has worked with all levels of officials. They handle not only District 11 and SAHA. Mentor program is still in assistance. Yellow paper .Sent a transmittal form with all sheets. Rosters will not be stamped and approved if Pete does not unless screening forms have been filled and copy of their current cards are reviewed. New coaches will be sent electronically, but a paper form must also be submitted. Submit as soon as possible. Can the association take a look at doing their own background checks? Choice .Sanctions fines. Mites need to use USA certified referees. Mini Mites . Options to have association kids go through the program. Mites teams cannot leave the district. We cannot have teams from other districts come to our jamborees. Squirts need to get permission to leave the district. There can be no inter level play can happen.District11 District Website. Spring Meeting – Initiation programs or recreation teams. Hopefully to give options to those who have quit hockey. Canadian CHAP cannot participate in our tournaments. All players must be registered with USA Hockey before they can participate with a youth team. State Tournaments teams will not have to pay the $100 but those hosting team gets their financial package within 30 days will get a $1500 check from the Minnesota Hockey. Starting dates change. (Shari see notes of Petes) Hep program we have a District Ace Coordinator with is Pat Meisner. All associations need to have a designated ace coordinator. Residency requirements – You play in the association where you live. Presidents can agree to wave them the District 11 will not override. Would like to get a committee together to work on League rules for District 11. Clarke Coole will chair. District 11 schedulers meeting October 21 at noon Peewees and Bantams. DAHA’s office. Squirts leaving can only leave twice with written approval. 3 times signed documentation from parents saying they want to go. Scrimmage on the range without staying over night. Bantams change to 17 minute periods. Extra 6 minutes gives more ice time for them and use it as a transition. Registers August 25, 2007Make a motion change the district team fees from 30.00 to 35.00 Jon Mercier 2nd by Terri Burn. Motion carried.Set up a committee 1 person from every association.
