US Elections Group Presentationscreated by Sarah RennLearning Objectives:Students will increase their confidence and proficiency in speaking English in an academic setting. Students will increase their proficiency at working as a group.Students will increase their knowledge about an American current event, namely the US Presidential ics:What’s happened up to this point in the election process?Who is Donald Trump? What are his most important issues? What political party does he represent?Who is [insert Democratic Party nominee]? What are his/her most important issues? What political party does s/he represent?What are the main issues of the election?What happens on Election Day? How is the winner determined?For this assignment, you will be working in groups of 3-4 assigned to answer one of the above bullets about the US Presidential Election. To get full credit for this, your group will need to:Fully research the answer to the question above and be ready to answer questions on the topic.Create a 6-minute (or less) presentation answering the most important components of your questions.Group presentation: All members must have equal time presenting. The best grades will be given to groups who practiced their presentation. The more comfortable you are with your presentation, the more you will be able to engage with your audience (e.g. eye contact).All presentations must include: at least 3 graphics (photographs, charts, etc.), important vocabulary, and something interesting that surprised you when researching your topic.You must provide a properly formatted works cited (bibliography) page that indicates where your information came from.
