Vice President – Government Business Development, Bell Helicopter. Number two executive in Bell’s largest profit and loss business unit with 1500 employees. Responsible for revenue growth of the $1B military segment. Led team that won the $3B Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter Program.

Deputy Director V-22 Program, Bell-Boeing Joint Venture. Joint responsibility with Boeing director for program performance, profit and loss, and organization of 1200 producing and testing the tiltrotor aircraft.

Space Shuttle Commander/Pilot: Commanded two flawless Space Shuttle missions and piloted two missions…responsible for the mission success and safe operation of the vehicle and Spacelab.

Management Astronaut: Member of three NASA Program Review Change Boards controlling annual operating expenditures in excess of $500M…established and advocated crew positions. Member of the Space Shuttle Mission Management Team committing the “Go” to launch. Chaired the Shuttle Systems Integration Review Board. Responsible for transporting the orbiters atop a 747. Expert on landing systems leading the redesigns following the Challenger accident and selecting the overseas Shuttle landing sites.

UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, Craig AFB, AL; Homestead AFB, FL; RAF Bentwaters, England; Keflavik NAS, Iceland; Nellis AFB, NV; Edwards AFB, CA; then detailed to NASA. Promoted ahead of contemporaries three times to become the youngest line colonel.

F-16 Test Pilot/Commander: Following USAF Test Pilot School, commanded the 57th Fighter Weapons Wing Detachment at Edwards AFB. Experimental test pilot performing flight evaluations of the F-16. First to fire an AIM-9 missile from the F-16C.

F-4 Fighter Pilot and Flight Examiner: Evaluated weapons and developed tactics that were employed with success during the Gulf War. Twice finalist for the Thunderbirds. Member of an aircraft accident investigation board. Instructor pilot/flight leader during the Cold War. Outstanding Graduate of Fighter Weapons School. Distinguished Graduate and Flying Training Award from undergraduate pilot training.
