Here are the details:August 2016 - Nigeria I am writing this newsletter from Nnewi, Nigeria on my way to Ethiopia. Jon Friesen is with me. Jon flew from Florida to meet me in Lagos, Nigeria where we were escorted to the local police station by an officer provided by Rev. Tony Okeke before driving to Nnewi.Jon says, "Bob was my Sunday school teacher when I was in the military 30 years ago. Bob and Carol Gibson are part of my extended family and the Lost sheep Ministries is very important to me. I was a firefighter in the military. After 10 years, I got out and started a career as a nursing home administrator I currently have a business called Gulf Coast Guardian and I care for elderly in my community as a court appointed guardian.God has been leading me to go on mission trips with Bob as his 'Timothy' this year." (Jon Friesen).4000500287655Sunday August 20, 762001153160 We spent the night in Lagos. Finally, at about 10:15 am we arrived at Save the Lost Mission in Nnewi. The music was loud and strong. We went in and I had a chance to walk around and hug these dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Tears are streaming down my face. Good tears these are my family members who prayed Carol and me out of the hospital along with many other prayer warriors around the world.I introduced Jon and he shared a little intro about himself and his desire to teach the Ten Commandments in a way that will hide them in their hearts.-3272790814070-133350703580Monday Jon and I had a great day today. We went to the Bible School. We will teach through Wednesday each morning and then a Student Conference will start. I will share crocheted crosses provided by Patsy Dainwood and her Bible study group from First Baptist church in Dickinson, TX who crocheted the crosses.2107565964565Tuesday Night Jon taught on the five love languages. I shared John Dainwood’s story (Patsy Dainwood's son). I shared how his mother and other women in her prayer group prayed for 36 years while he was serving a life in prison sentence for murder. John D. was saved while in prison and has been paroled. I licensed him to preach about a month ago. His mother Patsy Dainwood shared with me the crosses that she and others crocheted. She provided me a box with 500 crosses to bring to Africa with me.Many, many hugs and tears. I feel like George Patton in the movie Patton when he overlooked the battlefield and said “God help me I love it.” That is how I constantly feel on mission trips “God help me I love it.”-45720-70485Wednesday God allowed me to lead the five housekeeping ladies to the Lord Jesus Christ this morning. Jon and I completed our time with the Bible School students. Jon coached them on sharing the gospel then God put the icing on the cake. At breakfast Jon told me, he felt the Holy Spirit telling him we need to wash the feet of the students. I immediately responded. Let’s do it.Therefore, after the class Jon and I washed the feet and sprayed some perfume on their feet of all the students and the teacher and then Pastors Philip and John who are escorting Jon and me each day. John 13:5-20 quotes Jesus, "For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. "Wednesday 10 Jon came to my room and asked to go to the restaurant and meet a man and lady he was talking to. Edidiong and Good Lucky work at a local radio station. Jon met them earlier today at the festival he attended. We will be on their talk show radio program Friday morning. PTL God allowed me to share the gospel with them and they prayed to receive Christ. Seven souls today Lord, thank you, thank you, and thank you.Friday Yesterday morning, Jon and I went to the iPhone/internet store. I was able to print out Spiritual Birth Certificates. We passed them out to the ladies at Kings Palace hotel. 2034540254000Last night we kicked off the youth rally. Tony (Okeke), myself, and Jon, all shared briefly. I am excited to see what God is going to do with all these youth. Saturday Yesterday was awesome. We went to a school in the morning and shared and when we gave the invitation, more than 30 students prayed for salvation. Last night at the seminar another 70 to 100 souls entered the kingdom of God. Sunday Last night heaven came down and glory filled my soul. What an awesome night serving the Lord Jesus Christ here with many awesome men of God. Save the Lost Mission has prepared an awe-inspiring seminar for these students. God assembles the team to accomplish His will. Jon shared a message; wrapping up in Daniel chapter 3 the story of the three young Jewish boys who had their names changed to Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. He wove into this narrative the 23 Psalm. When he gave the invitation, five young people came forward for salvation.I shared a message from Isaiah 6, which was preached at my church in San Leon, TX by Pastor Richard Scott more than 5 years ago. I have repeated this message many times. Thank you Pastor Richard. Monday, August 28 Yesterday was another day of praise, prayer, and testimonies at Save the Lost Mission. This day was set aside to honor Rev. Tony Okeke the founder of this wonderful work of God. The meeting started at 9:00 am and went to 6:00 pm. I had to rest at about 3:00 pm and went back to the hotel. It has been another wonderful week serving Jesus Christ “King of kings” here in Nnewi. We have witnessed about 115 souls born-again into God’s kingdom, provided three days of in depth bible study to the Bible College students here in Nnewi. We equipped hundreds during the youth seminar and Sunday services. I truly love these people and they love me. I am humbled to be called – chosen – and sent. Come quickly Lord Jesus but until you come, I will go!Today I will travel to Lagos and fly on to Ethiopia3272790207645September 2016 Ethiopia Our plan, while in Nigeria, was to fly across the continent to Ethiopia to visit our Citymark Church missionaries, Nicholas and Jessica Lowe. It was a 5-hour plane ride to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Friday September 2 I spent Wednesday and Thursday sharing with the Fab-5, Nick & Jessica Lowe, Amber Smith, Heather Atkins, and Kelly Boyer. They are our Citymark church in League City, TX mission team in Ethiopia.38100297180I delivered some schoolbooks sent by Citymark church and you can tell they were joyfully received.1425575368300I am happy for this opportunity even though it is something new for me to not be “out there” fishing with Jesus. My role for two days has been to serve as a Barnabas to the Fabulous 5. At about 4:00 pm we left to visit Momma’s house a home for women and children. Sunday Yesterday I travelled with Nicklaus & Jessica from about 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. We attended a revival service at a young (3-month-old start up church) with almost 200 members. It is a very dynamic spirit-filled church with lots of Praise – Prayer, and Preaching. We enjoyed about 6 or 7 hours of love. Love for Jesus, and love for one another. I shared the message on eternity and the major events in all of our lives in eternity. I then shared from Isaiah 6:8: "Who can I send, who will go for us? Here am I send me!" When I gave the invitation all in attendance said yes to God. Here am I send me. Jessica shared the story behind the crocheted crosses and we distributed them. How happy they were to know that in America someone was praying for them and had made a cross for them. Again, thank you FBC Dickinson ladies. We left drinking from our saucer. That evening we attended a small group of church leaders meeting. It was a powerful time of praise then Nick shared a powerful message from John when Mary washed Jesus' feet with perfume. Nick pointed out that when Jesus left the tomb Mary was the first person to see Him3421380-139700Tuesday I am packing for my flights home tomorrow. What another amazing, awe-inspiring journey serving my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. I must say the crosses crocheted by the ladies at FBC Dickinson were a major blessing for all those to receive one in Nigeria and Ethiopia. I have had another amazing, awe inspiring journey serving my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. 4338955403860October - Nicaragua 76200368935Jon Friesen is with me again having recently helped me in Nigeria, West Africa. On this trip, I was able to license Jon to Preach the Gospel Ministry. He is a wonderful fellow solder for Jesus Christ. Jon arrived a little late but my friend Eli Simeon was there with me with a car to take us to San Marcos just south of Managua.830580786130On Saturday Jon & I visited some old friends then we drove to the Hodera (drug rehabilitation facility) where we will be ministering this week. We went fishing with Jesus at the La Cosonia Coffee Shop in San Marcos I had the opportunity to lead Claudia Vigil the owner’s wife to the Lord. Tuesday We began our ministry schedule for the Hodera. We have about 40 men and 8 women to minister to. PTL!762001049020I am going into Managua this morning to meet with Francisco Lopez. Francisco, he was the treasurer for the Sandinista Party in Central America when I first met him. I led him to Christ in 1992 at Palabra de Vida (Word of Life) church in San Marcos. He is President Daniel Ortega’s right hand man. I requested a meeting with Francisco as a result of my wife Carol’s stay in the hospital at Methodist ICU in Houston, TX. Dr. Abraham Thomas, the head neurologist at Methodist, was her neurologist. He is a Christian and during our visits, he mentioned that he and another Doctor were interested in visiting Nicaragua and perhaps starting a clinic here.1535430388620Wednesday Yesterday we had an opportunity to lead Amelee a 29 year old single mom and her son to the Lord. We have had many saved at the Hodera and Spiritual Birth Certificates and Baptism Certificates are being prepared for them. We will baptize this coming Friday. Last night we viewed God is Not Dead film and after the movie I was answering questions for Juan who is 20 years old and he too prayed to receive Christ as his Lord and Savior. Surely the “harvest is plentiful” Oh Lord send more laborers into your harvest field. The Holy Spirit is touching hearts at the Hodera. -8255603885Saturday As always yesterday was like Jesus putting the whip cream and cherry on the hot fudge sundae. We went to the Hodera to distribute the Spiritual Birth Certificates and then baptize. The baptismal was in a little duck pond that they cleaned up. Not deep enough so I used a bucket to completely cover them with water. We then took some group photos and tearfully said our good byes. Last night we shared with the women's group at La Roca church. There were about 100 or so women with some men sprinkled in. Jon and I shared messages from our hearts; Jon shared the Ten Commandments and the importance of basking in the “fullness of God”. I first shared on the events we all live in eternity. I then shared Isaiah 6:1-7 where Isaiah responded to God’s mandate (Who will go for us?).The entire church came forward to respond to God’s asking who will go for us. I mean the entire church was on their knees at the altar. I prayed that God the Father would place His agape love in each heart. I asked Jesus to put His mind in each mind. I asked the Holy Spirit to pour out His gifts on them for service to Jesus our King of kings. 204216047625We then went to the Pizza shop to meet Marcos who knows that God has called him to full time service. I have known him for more than 3 years now and I am going to License him, Jon, Lillian Brown and three others to preach the gospel.Sunday Yesterday, Jon and I returned to the Hodera to pass out the Baptism Certificates. Some of the men were working in the field but we were able to pass about 10 of them. We travelled with Marcos, to Dariamba, Marcos’s favorite restaurant to partake of real Nicaraguan food. We then drove to Jinotepe to show the movie God is Not Dead at La Roco church. I was laying down behind the screen during the movie kind of pouting. There might only be 50 people here to watch the movie. I could have stayed back in bed at the hotel. Then God scolded me and reminded me that He can handle the numbers. I just need to be obedient. He reminded me that the Holy Spirit had told me on Thursday to call Pastor Rudy Palacios and ask to minister at La Roca church on Friday and Saturday night.Friday was to be preaching and Saturday we would show the movie. So I agreed with God. After the movie, a young man came up to me with a huge smile and hugged me. He is the man that during prayer time last night Jon and I held as he wept for about 20 minutes. He shared with me that after hearing my message last night God has called him to bring the gospel message to the gang members. Okay, God another Nicky Cruz former gang member saved under Dave Wilkerson’s ministry in NYC many years ago. I had Jon get his contact information and I gave him mine. You never know whom God is going to reach through your witness. Somebody led Billy Graham to the Lord! The return home in Houston, TX was uneventful and I was ready for some rest. It is always good to return home to family and be grandpa again. I am blessed and highly favored to have a family that supports my calling to take the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the world____________________________________________________________________493776091440-7620093345My most recent International venture was to the country of Latvia. It is much colder there than in Houston, TX. I was privileged to escort my Pastor Steven Yoes' wife Maya to her native country. I shared with taxi drivers, and hotel staffers but they were already either saved or refused to receive Christ. Finally, Linda Zalite a 23 year old staff receptionist prayed to receive Christ and a bit later, Alexander Suskovs received Christ. Thank you Holy Spirit. I attended St. Matthew Baptist church on Sunday and again last night. Folks it was an Acts 2:42 experience. In addition, they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Praying, praising, preaching, testimonies, and fellowship. The Holy Spirit gave me a powerful message to share to encourage the church. During fellowship time many came and thanked me. I have many new friends here in Latvia now. Thank you Jesus. Maya and I are checked in for our flight to Amsterdam on air Baltic. We are numbers 1 & 2 on our United Airline flight to Houston tomorrow. I really had a wonderful time in Riga, Latvia. -- Pastor Bob________________________________________________________________________BACK TO NICARAGUA -- Jon D. Friesen4305300104140God has gone before us and has prepared in and through people of his choosing unbelievable blessing to come.I have accompanied Pastor Bob on missions to Nigeria, West Africa and Nicaragua, Central America. Last week I went back to Nicaragua to lay some groundwork and gather information about healthcare needs and God's direction for a Healthcare facility in San Marcos just south of Managua. While in San Marcos, I had the privilege of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to the men and women of the Hodera (an addiction recovery center where Pastor Bob and I visited earlier this year). We shared several movies. One of the movies was Pilgrim's Progress by john Bunyan , which is a classic story about a young man call Christian and his life's journey. After the movie, the Holy Spirit convicted 12 men to receive Christ's gift of salvation and one man rededicated his life.321183030480During the week satanic influences tormented five women, four felt the Spirit's conviction on their lives and accepted Christ. The fifth young woman messaged me as I was traveling back to the US and also prayed for Jesus to come into her heart through modern technology of texting.118110167640During my mission, God showed up over and over again. One of the challenges we faced was the availability of spiritual material, specifically Bibles. While in San Marco this need was met after a short conversation with God and proclaiming Psalms chapter 70, which is a cry for help and urgency.I met with a man named Caesar from the local college. Caesar had a key that opened a storage room containing one-half million Bibles in Spanish and English: Amen. I was honored to meet with the mayor of San Marcos. She took us on a tour of the city and conveyed the current health care situation and challenges. They are in serious need of a hospital. The town has a small clinic with very little functioning medical necessities for 35, 000 people.4815840502920We were taken to a small area, approximately 1 acre, set aside for a hospital project but it was plain to see this was too small. I pointed my finger towards adjoined land and said that land would be perfect.?The next day as I was out for breakfast in a neighboring town, we met Jose who had been listening in to my conversation and inquired, "Where is this land you need?" He then said, "That's my land and it would be a great place for your hospital." Does any of this sound strange? Is God preparing his will ??Also, I have been in communication with Mark George (fellow LSM member from Lockhart, Texas) about a 6,000 sq ft Mobile hospital, and I have just the place for itIn the fullness of obedience in Christ, Jon D.
