Good Afternoon,Spring registration is now open for online recertification and licensure classes at the UVA-Wise Center for Teaching Excellence. During the spring semester, The Center for Teaching Excellence at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is offering a full schedule of online licensure and recertification courses for teachers in Virginia. The Online Licensure Courses meet the needs of provisionally licensed teachers who are pursuing their full endorsement; and the Online Recertification Courses assist teachers who want to earn points toward recertification. As a result of the Virginia Department of Education’s removal of the requirement for content specific courses, license holders without a master’s degree may now earn up to 180 recertification points by completing college coursework that is aligned with the one or more of the VDOE domains of professional development. Each three credit-hour course offered by the Center for Teaching Excellence is worth 90 points. Our spring semester courses begin on February 7 and end on May 5. ?Registration for spring semester closes on May 5.The tuition rate for licensure courses has been reduced for Virginia Teachers to $199 per credit hour ($597 total for a traditional three credit-hour course). Again this year, we are able to offer a significant tuition reduction program for Virginia educators in our Recertification Courses. All of our online recertification courses are three credit-hour undergraduate courses. With the applied reduction, the total tuition for three credit-hours is $297. There is a non-refundable Admission Fee of $25.00.This email concludes with a listing of the courses available during the spring semester.
